I am a returning customer for the past few years and I'm always been a happy and a satisfied customer for each of those times but unfortunately it would end here. I was mistreated by the staff today, his named his JAY, such a terrible person to deal with it. I walked in to inquire about a unit and we were having a normal conversation at first. It is just very normal for a customer to ask for the current special, specially if you advertise some discounts online. JAY gave 50% x 2 months and quoted me $100 for a 4x10. I told him that I wanted to see it, then he told me that if I will rent today, I'll pay $100 plus $25 admin fee then the discount will get applied next month. I asked if they changed management because I never remember this before and told him that I've been a customer here before then everything went south! JAY told me that I am no longer eligible for a discount because I had it already when I rented there before. I am a returning customer, the need for storage will come and go and you get a storage because you need an extra space for that moment in time. I think when a returning customer comes back to you then you should be happy because that is just a testament that you are doing something right. You should take care not just a new customer but also your returning customer. JAY told me that it is their company policy not to give a discount to a returning customer. I told JAY that he would not even know that I had rented there before if I didnt said anything. JAY went off on me and told me to leave pointing at the door and he told me take my business somewhere else! JAY played the "I have the right to refuse service to customer" card on me, he even pointed out the sign they have up there. I was shocked how I was being treated. Did I do or said such a terrible thing to tell me on my face he is refusing service on me? And to make it worst, he called the security on me to scare me even more! JAY improperly used that sign on me, he cannot just tell his customer to leave and refuse service only because he doesn't want to be in a difficult situation and just doesn't want to resolve the issue. I cannot believe how unprofessional JAY was. He was lacking customer service and no manners at all. I really do hope that this gets to the management so they'll be aware of his unprofessionalism. read more

I had a good positive experience renting their storage units, no hassles whatsoever. Their pricing was really fair and the person named Renu whom help us set up with a unit was kind and understanding. At one time we wanted to switch to a smaller unit while under contract and they were able to accommodate that. I would come back and rent their units if ever needed again. read more

Renu the manager was great over the phone, extremely pleasant in person and very flexible with our need for an urgent parking storage space for a small RV/camper van. She was also able to accommodate a last minute challenge with tow truck access to our designated spot and gave us an alternative location without any to do! Facility is clean and organized with secure gate access in/out. Customer service was key and I would definitely recommend for that reason alone! read more

DO NOT book a U Haul online at this Location!!!! I booked a U Haul for my move a week in advance. I get a email the DAY BEFORE my move that they actually do not have trucks here, and that I have to drive to LIVERMORE to get a truck. 45 minutes away! (which would easily take up to measly 35 miles they "give" you.) Thanks for nothing. Why even give a confirmation? Why offer the truck? I guess I'll be keeping an eye on my credit card, since the only reason you would FALSE ADVERTISE you have something (that you dont) is to scam people. 20 years of using U Haul died today - with this transaction! BYE! I am going to book with Budget from now on! 20% cheaper and double the miles...no brainer! (and sorry that this business has to suffer the fate of franchising with U Haul. You should really make sure your advertised vehicles are ACTUALLY available!) read more

Rented a uhaul at Sunnyvale for a one way trip to union city. Renu was very helpful and nice, her guard dog was very friendly and cute too. There was debris left by the previous renter and I told her that was the way the uhaul of Sunnyvale gave it to me, she told me not to worry and we we not charged for that. Will definitely be using their services again when we are ready to make another move. She also came outside to our car and recommended a great breakfast spot to eat at because she overheard my wife and I talking about where we should eat for breakfast in the store. This place is amazing. Yes it is a storage building and serves a purpose but it is the helpful people here that make it special. Renu helped me with a truck rental yesterday. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She got me in and out while making sure that all my needs were met. We checked out the truck, did a walk through and I got the extra equipment (dolly, etc..) that I needed. The truck served its purpose. I was able to move my family and belongs in two days, should of been one but you know family. Just returned the truck which was very easy. Too easy in fact that I left my phone is the cab. It's been one of those weekends for me... however there is an emergency line to call that put me in to contact with Jeanette who was so helpful. Jeanette in turn put me in to contact with Renu. Renu came in to save the day. She left her family function that kills me but was so happy that she came. If you ever need a professional outfit who will watch out for you and ensure you are taken care, come here. They will make sure all your needs are meet and treat you right. Great place to rent a u-haul truck. I found them as my nearest dealer so reserved my truck online. Got a call as I was on my way to pickup the truck just to check on my arrival time. The lady that was working was super nice. She was friendly, efficient and just made the whole process great. Great place to go to get prompt friendly service. Nice plus is that they are right off the Whipple exit on 880 and next to a gas station. Made refueling and returning the truck nice and easy. Will definitely use them the next time I need to rent a truck/van. read more

five years ago, i did some research and found that A-1 Armor Self Storage was the best place to keep my "stuff". they had a medium-sized unit available, and the price was right, so i moved in. i was on the 2nd floor, and i found the service elevators to be spacious and always working, and there were plenty of carts to use. from day-one, Jeanette & Renu were always professional, pleasant, and personable. it makes a customer feel good when the person behind the counter greets you by name. i have also used their U-Haul service a few times, and always had a good experience. i recently moved out, after having sold/recycled/trashed most of the contents of my unit, but A-1 Armor would be the first place i'd go i ever need a storage space in the future. i always felt confident that my "stuff" was safe and secure. i would also recommend them, without hesitation, to anyone looking for a safe, clean, convenient place to store their "stuff". read more

I used them for my uhual rental last tues 3/21/12 . i wish i asked what the name was of the girl who helped me but she was great. It was my first time using Uhaul and she explained all the fees to me (gas, mileage, charges, etc). I was told by friends to not use Uhaul, I will get charged up the woo-hoo but that was a lie. I came here again for another truck rental and the same person helped me and she was marvelous! The service here is fast & awesome! I called to get pricing came down did the paperwork and in less than a hour I was out of there with the truck! I used the night drop and within 30 minutes my card charged with the exact time of drop off and the invoice was emailed to me! This is the most convenient and fast service! I can't recommend A-1 and Jeanette highly enough. Our situation was a bit unique, as we needed a truck to haul merchandise and supporting equipment to a huge annual event we organize down in Monterey. The truck I rented from them was perfect for my needs and very convenient with no hassles when I brought it back. They have a wide variety of storage options and the security seems good. This was the first time I used a self-storage facility. I was surprised that it was a smooth and easy transaction. The location was convenient, the staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were well maintained and secure. One night, I stopped by to pick up a couple of things and was not keeping track of the time. When I stayed there past the operating hours, one of the staff made a special trip to come and check on me to make sure everything was in order and that I was not a prowler. I was impressed.
