I call around, and the Barstow Appliance came to my rescue. I don't know if this was the owner or an employee, but he was a lifesaver. He brought me a loaner refrigerator, so all my food didn't spoil, and yes the day before I went shopping, and bought a lot of meat from Purdy's. We arranged for Monday for the device tech to come out. Monday comes, I get a call saying good morning our tech is on his way. The tech was on time, professional, checked out what was wrong, gave me an estimate to fix the refrigerator, and my husband, and I decided to buy a new refrigerator as the cost to fix it was high. We go over to the store, and buy a very nice used refrigerator that was refurbished. The employees were fantastic. The following day the refrigerator was delivered, and they took the old refrigerator away. Again the 3 employees were very polite, and friendly. They left the loaner for me for another 3 days, and I called and asked them to pick up the liner refrigerator. What can I say? The service was phenomenal, all the empowered polite, friendly, and yes professional. I will definitely buy again from Barstow Appliance. Another note: I thought this was posted 5 months ago, and it wasn't, it was in the draft box. I still stand by everything I said above. They never followed up after the service call. I had to call them two days later to get an update and a quote for the repairs. Received a repair estimate for a total of $1036.11 to install a new "thermal kit" in the refrigerator at a part cost of $541.12 plus 20% mark up, plus shipping. $329.00 for labor. Unknown repairs to gas dryer. I called another repair company that diagnosed the dryer not heating was due to a clogged vent. Diagnosed the refrigerator for a fan replacement of $145 for parts and $150 for labor. Total cost $350. Precision Appliance also charged $129 for the service call which is higher than most companies.
