The assistant manager rushed me out of the store even though I made a $440 purchase. She shoved everything in a tiny bag and said we had to go. I went on a business trip, used one outfit and then when I got back and tried to return the other (unworn, with tags) she said it'd been 3 weeks and couldn't return or even get store credit. She never mentioned that short policy during checkout even though she knew I was on the fence about that outfit. If you want bad customer service and a two week return policy this place would be great for you. Otherwise, don't shop at this place.

I was disappointed…read morewith the outlet though, I got there pretty early this morning and it was not busy in there but neither of the two girls working offered me any help or asked how I was doing, they just ignored me. The sales floor wasn't very fully stocked and I understand that it's an outlet and it gets busy but I think if it's slow in the morning that they should have been putting stuff out of the empty racks rather than just talking and hanging out. This is a baby store, yet they didn't have anywhere for me to change my son. He had pooped in the stroller and since there was no where to change him I went out to my car to change him and by that time it had become an extreme blowout that travelled up his whole back. I was very disappointed.

I don't think there is anything special about this store being an "outlet". They have all the current items and the prices are the same as any other Carter's store. However, it is the only Carter's in the area. The staff is super friendly and helpful! I had gotten a bunch of newborn summer clothes at my baby shower, even though my due date is in November. Not everything had tags and I didn't have a gift receipt for some of the items. I was able to exchange these items for store credit. Which I then was able to buy my baby quite a bit of winter clothes. Carter's is a great company that allows you to exchange clothes anytime (from the associate's mouth). If you are in the area and have kids, I would definitely check out this store!

Merchandise is different every time you go, and you usually have to be prepared to do some rooting around to perhaps find something close to what you were looking for, or things you hadn't budgeted for at all. Don't think I've ever left with an empty buggy. Today I was looking for some frames and/or shadow boxes. No boxes, other than some really big ones that were nice, but far too large for my purposes. Got a couple nice frames. One from the clearance aisle. Managed to get out for under $20. I think that's a first for me. ;) The store was clean and well organized. Couple of associates on the floor pretty much ignored me. I wasn't looking for help, though an acknowledgement would have been good customer service, but the cashier was very friendly. There had been a bit of a lineup at checkout. They quickly brought another staff member up to help out. Good response so people aren't waiting longer than necessary.

The last time I was in there I looked around for a while and saw three beautiful tops so I went ahead and tried them on. I was only going to take one of them since I was planning on going to a few other outlet stores in the area and did not want to spend all of my money in one place. They were all so nice that it was hard to pick but I thought about what I had at home for bottoms and accessories to go with the tops and finally I decided on a winner. The store was neatly organized and it was fun to browse what they had in stock. The signage on the clothing displays clearly showed any discounts available on the items. The sales floor and fitting rooms were spotless and I could tell that the store is well taken care of by the employees. The clerk at the cashier station was pleasant to deal with and I was satisfied with the service that I received. I will make it a point to come back to this store the next time I am in Maine doing some outlet shopping.
