They have 2 showers/bathroom areas and one bathroom to accommodate needs. It's a plus that Its 24 hours to accommodate your schedule. They have plenty of parking in a shared lot. When it comes to the fitness equipment it's not repaired or updated regularly. The TV on the stair master has been out for a year. In addition, some of the ellipticals do not take information like your weight if you desire accurate calorie counts or the levels can not go past a certain point without the machine restarting. They have limited equipment because its smaller. They have one stair master and you frequently have to wait as its a high demand machine during regular hours. There is one upward bike and one row machine, etc. It can get pretty hot. Not sure what is going on with the HVAC, but wish it was cooler on a regular. Typically its well organized and clean. There are three staff as trainers and general staff they appear to be friendly, there is one who is very passive aggressive. Thankful for Ron's help and assistance and Joseph is nice. Notes: There is a gym in Waverly that has a food bar, etc. It has some completion and the price is equivalent to the gym down the street. I have not taken any of the small group classes that they offer and cannot provide feedback on those or working one on one with a trainer. I also have not consumed any beverages or snacks from their honor system.

However, what kept my membership afloat was the facility's cleanliness and the friendly staff. This was very important at the height of Covid. While Covid cases have decreased, Planet Fitness has continued to maintain a clean and safe facility for its patrons. I also worked with one of their trainers to design my own program. The trainer listened to my goals and helped me create a workout routine that works as long as I remain consistent.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Planet Fitness location…read more My wife and I were considering joining the gym when we were informed that men are permitted to use the women's bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms, and that women are likewise permitted to use the men's facilities. I respectfully expressed my concerns and asked Manager Latoyia if I could speak with her supervisor or obtain contact information for corporate or the local franchise owner so that I could formally file a complaint. Unfortunately, Latoyia became very rude and was unwilling to provide me with any of the information I requested or assist me in addressing my concerns. I found her response and attitude extremely disappointing. Needless to say, my wife and I decided not to join. We do not believe anyone should be expected to share showers and locker room facilities with members of the opposite sex. In our opinion, this is not a family-friendly environment, and based on this experience, I would not recommend this Planet Fitness location to others. I believe customers should be treated respectfully and given a reasonable way to communicate concerns to management or corporate leadership, regardless of whether management agrees with those concerns.

Rockbox is still charging my Credit Card one year after I cancelled my membership…read more I attended Rock Box Steele Creek for a few months during Spring-2022. When my kids went back to school in late summer 22, I was forced to cancel my membership. I live 20 miles away in Gaston County and my kids schedules conflicted with the club's class schedule. I cancelled my membership after my last class. A few months later I discovered I was still being charged for what I believed was a 1 yr. gym membership. I am being charged for a term of 86 months. When Megan made me a member, I was told cancelling was NOT a problem, to do it in-house. I expected a final charge or 30-day bill. It is now over a year later and they are still charging my visa and will continue to do so for next seventy months. I have made multiple phone calls with no response, left multiple messages on manager's voicemail with no return calls. I called the billing department and was instructed that the billing dept. can only change an individual's method of payment, that is their only function. WOW! I was also told that Rock Box does not have a department that deals with billing problems/legal issues, etc. Think long and hard before joining Rock Box. Know that this will cost you as much as a nice used car.
