It was smaller than he likes and he is not health conscious of his food intake so he prefers big and greasy fast food options. It's always a challenge to find places we both enjoy. I've also bought a number of cakes, cookies and other desserts there. My favorite is the tiramisu and the red velvet cake. The cakes are also gorgeous - beautifully decorated. There's a reason you see a lot of locals dining here - we know it is one of the best places in town.

For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. It is called the Kessel run challenge. You have 45 minutes to complete it It has 3 pounds of meat 1 pound of ham 1 pound of Turkey and 1 pound of their house cooked Roast Beef. It also has 12 slices of cheese 4 slices each of cheddar, Swiss, provolone The toppings are lettuce and locally grown tomatoes and butter pickles with a spicy Creole mustard The bread Oversized freshly bake hollow Challah bun weighing over 1 pound. Overall it's about 5 and a half pounds if you complete it the sandwich is free and you get a awesome tee shirt and your picture on the wall of fame as well as bragging rights if not the sandwich is $50.
