Food was good..portions were good, exactly what you would expect at a ma and pop diner type restaurant. Not a place you want to go if you like to judge on atmosphere..it's very basic and old but well worth it cause there food is good! Looked like they keep it pretty clean

When in Marion, we gotta hit 88 Dip!! We've been twice, when exploring the natural wonders of the region. Nothing beats a good burger and fries after a long hike! Except maybe a milk shake too!

    American classic!

GREAT food. Had gravy and biscuits, sausage and their hashbrowns. I highly recommend this place if you like good home cooked food!

Had a buffet option of…read morefrozen fried foods, stuffed peppers that could have been mistaken for meatballs drowning in tomato sauce. String beans were swimming in bacon fat with fatty chunks. Another option was the soup and salad bar. White bean soup was like wallpaper paste. Broccoli soup was just as pasty but green. Neither had any flavor. Salad bar had bare minimals. Soup bowls were either a tiny butter dish or a ramekin. When I asked for a soup bowl the waitress pointed to my 2 choices. We shared a club sandwich which was ok. Went for breakfast the next day because the nearest town is 20 minutes away. Breakfast buffet was poor so we ordered off the menu. My traditional breakfast was fair. Ham steak was the highlight of my meal. Never got the potatoes that came with my plate. Also a first for me. Got the heal or end of the bread. Whole place is closed next year for major renovations. Should have closed sooner. Dining room overlooks the lake. Too bad the outside desk wasn't open.

Seafood night is just okay, but we wouldn't come back for it. Typical salad bar, dessert table with rotating pie/cake/ banana pudding (hot) & Vanilla soft serve machine. The staff is friendly. The best person is their head chef, Jack! What an awesome guy! Willing to go the extra mile for you and always has a smile on his face! Great balcony view and lots of seating inside.

The ambiance is "Cracker Barrel meets old dusty floral decor," which in my humble opinion is a very "cluttered and clausterphobic" atmosphere, but it is still worth going to visit. The dust layers on all the fake florals was just a little hard on my allergies but the shops & restaurant food was worth it.

We had been here over the summer, and stopped by with our daughter to share the experience. Service is always good, and some of the food is great. It seemed like the 1 inch porkchop was not as good as the gigantic one I had last time, but I coykd be crazy. My husband woukd say I was crazy, so there is that. My daughter loved her fish. The mashed potatoes with white gravy were so good, I ate those first. Hubby asked for a garden salad with salmon. He got a spinach salad with salmon. Our server brought it out and offered to have it remade, but the salad looked wonderful and he really enjoyed it. Kudos to the chef for standing his ground haha. We were too full for dessert. Highly recommend, for the experience and the cute period clothing. Get reservations though! We have to wait over an hour on our first visit. We made reservations the 2nd time and we're seated within 10 minutes.
