800 Block is a nightmare of an apartment complex. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother touring this place. My daughter signed a lease in good faith, planning to return to school the following year. When circumstances drastically changed and she could not return to Logan, we immediately began trying to sell the lease--nearly a full year in advance. We personally sent them at least two qualified potential tenants, yet the management never accepted them and gave no explanation as to why. As the move-in date approached, we pleaded with the manager to release us after the first semester, reasoning that they would have a much better chance of finding a replacement at that time. Instead of showing the slightest compassion or flexibility, they sent us a bill for the entire year. We are now forced to pay the full lease amount while they are free to rent the same apartment to someone else--profiting twice from the same unit. The lease terms and management are cold, unyielding, and completely lacking in basic decency. Their handling of our situation was dishonest, merciless, and exploitative. Avoid 800 Block at all costs. read more

As a parent I would NEVER recommend anyone live at 800 block. The only positive thing about this place is the location. While my son was on a mission last summer we had to find him a place to live for the upcoming year. There were not a lot of options and since he was going to live with 2 friends from freshman year, this ended up being one of our only options. We chose it for the location. It was going to be over $100 more a month to sign a 9 month lease compared to a 12 month lease. We ended up signing a 12 month lease with the intention on finding someone to take over the rest of the lease for the summer. Also, it is not truly a 12 month lease, we had to pay the full month of August but would not let us move in until the end of August, I should've known it was going to be a bad experience back then. In January my son started trying to sell his lease to be taken over May 1. He spoke to the front desk numerous times to make sure everything was good to go when he found someone to take over his lease. When it was getting closer for my son to move out, he spoke to the front desk again to see what he needed to do to transfer the lease. Never once was he told there was going to be a relet fee of $660 to transfer the lease until he moved out. Today he moved out and when he went to the front desk to transfer everything over, they told him he had to pay a relet fee of $660, 85% of his monthly rent, he had to pay or they will not transfer the lease. This is absolutely ridiculous, it is almost a full month of rent. We found someone to take over the lease and pay the rent so 800 block is not out any money. 800 block takes full advantage of these college students. Not only do they overcharge for rent, $750 for a single tiny room plus $75 utilities, $100 for a parking spot (we ended up getting a "special 1/2 price deal" so it was $50 a month), $15 for their rental insurance plus $5 storage fee. We paid this place $900 a month for a room that was the size of a shoebox, a tiny closet, which was actually a tiny cabinet, no storage in the room and these was not even a real mattress, more of a thick mat. We have had 3 kids attend Utah State and they have lived in all different places, we never have had such a negative experience at any other place we have ever rented. The management is awful and do nothing to help these college kids, they take full advantage and only care about the money. I looked at a lot of student housing before making a decision. For me, 800 Block was the best deal for the money. It's right across the street from USU, and because it's up on a hill, the views are great. Many student apartments were much older and looked worn down. 800 Block is newer. It has an open floor plan and updated appliances. Apartments have two dishwashers and two refrigerators. It's nice to have covered parking. There's also a large game room, areas for student study, bbq grills, and a hot tub. As for customer service, the staff is right on top of any problem. The front desk staff is always willing to help or find someone who can help. This is my second summer here. read more

800 block is hands down the worst apartment I have lived in. When I originally signed a lease they promised me (f) and my friend (m) that we could be in the same apartment together. They even gave us a tour and showed us the exact room that we would move into. Around two months after we signed, they reached out to him only and told him that they could not fill a coed apartment. They moved me into a different room (without telling me) in which I would have to share a bathroom despite the fact that I had originally signed for a private room with a private bathroom. I requested that they move me to a different apartment so I could have my own bathroom and they told me that the only room they could move me into was coed. This made absolutely no sense considering they told my friend that they couldn't fill coed rooms and we could no longer live together, but I agreed. When I moved into my apartment the door handle was broken. I could not shut my bedroom door at all. Eventually I requested to move rooms again so that I could actually close my door. It took a month to plan where I would move, and they fixed my door the day I moved rooms. In my new room I was woken up early in the morning by maintenance. They gave me no warning that they would be coming and they told me that I had to move everything out of my bathroom if I didn't want sheet rock on it. They gave me about 5 minutes before I was told I needed to leave so they could cut a hole in my ceiling because construction workers had dropped a screwdriver in the pipes, causing them to be backed up. The smell in my room was atrocious until they finished covering up/painting they hole they created. Once you move in it is obvious that the apartments were cheaply made and rushed. The staff has always been kind to me, but their communication is lacking. They will tell you to move out of your apartment with little to no notice. 800 block's parking is absolutely awful. It is narrow, expensive, and the pipes leak more often than not. There was only one custodian and maintenance that I know of and the buildings were often dirty. So many negative things occurred while I lived here, I'm sure I probably forgot some details. The only good thing about 800 Block is its proximity to campus. I moved here thinking it would be great considering the price they charge, however after a month of moving in started to see the problems, and I realized I made the wrong decision moving here. The most consistent problem I faced was the water heater, the water heater has to be manually reset every 24 hours, so in the morning I have to reset it and wait 30 minutes for it to heat up. Me and my roommates submitted multiple maintenance requests and the times that it did get "fixed" it would go back to malfunctioning after a couple of days. they charge a ridiculous amount for parking, I'm paying $100 PER MONTH for parking, and they use (Logan Parking Enforcement LLC) for parking enforcement, (Logan Parking Enforcement LLC) is known for being shady and sketchy. I had a situation where my parking sticker fell off and I got booted for it because they thought I didn't have a designated spot, however after showing the 800 block staff that I registered my car with their online system, I showed that the car is registered in my name and that it did have the sticker on it before it fell off, the manager said that 800 block won't pay for the boot removal fee ( $75 ) The apartments are poorly built using cheap materials, the vinyl floor is buckling in certain areas and the paint is thin and peels extremely easily. AND THE WALLS ARE THIN! unfortunately, I can hear my next-door neighbor through the wall even when they talk at a normal volume, also the doors are thin and cheap, so they do not block out sound (besides the front door). The elevators are slow and sketchy, The elevator for the parking gerage occasionally smells like burning rubber wich is not comforting. The hot tub and location are nice, the utilities are nice (except for the water heater) and the staff are nice and friendly, I wish I could say more nice things about this place however I cannot. For the quality and management of 800 blocks, they should be charging half the price of what they charge now. Also, another thing, they have you use an app on your phone to get access to the building after business hours, it's tedious having to pull out my phone, open the app, turn on Bluetooth, and hold it just right against the sensor so it unlocks. If your phone is dead then you're screwed. Most modern apartments use a small RFID chip that you can attach to your car keys so it's convenient-and so you don't have to rely on your phone. read more

We signed a lease in December for student housing for the summer of 2021. In March they sent an email to tell us they were not going to be able to honor our lease Because they were not ready. We requested our deposit back and they never returned it nor did they answer any of our calls, emails and messages. When we went to Logan this summer we saw that the building is probably a year out of being completed. This is fraud. They owe us our deposit back since they canceled the lease. They clearly took our money knowing fully that we would not be able to move in for the dates our lease was signed for. Bad company, bad business. read more

The management at 800 Block has been immensely helpful and quick to respond to any concerns I have had as of yet. The building is completely open to my knowledge, and I haven't had any issues so far. This place has an issue with their fire alarm going off for no reason. It's been happening for months it even it went off for 7 hours straight in the middle of the night. No one in any of the nearby buildings could sleep and their management won't do anything about it. DO NOT RENT HERE! read more

They've totally screwed over new students coming to Utah State each of the last couple years by cancelling contracts right before the start of school. They're excuse was construction wasn't complete, but how do you not know before hand construction won't be complete? Don't ever trust these people. read more

it is so bad i wanna give you a 0. but that's not possible, so i give you a 1. literally 2022 & they're still not done? just left 200+ students homeless less than a month away from the fall semester starting and they just now send out an email saying they won't be finished in time for the school year. but they recommended other places to live!... that are completely full... which is weird because they said from the beginning that if they couldn't house us there then they would provide accommodations to the hotel behind the building, or a $500 credit to fund another place to live, but now they're not offering either options. they're full of false promises. so if your a prospective student at usu, don't even bother looking into 800 block or their other companies. do your research and stay safe. read more
