Mostly when I check into USU it is because I am at the gym. So, this post will be about the ARC. It is fairly new & so so nice. They have lots of equipment & room. They also have classes you can take everyday. My favorites are High, kickboxing, Zumba, and cycle. They help you with a good sweat. The fitness pass is $40/semester & you can attend any class you want/whenever you want. You can also drop into classes and it is about $3/class. (Also, your first class is free!) Today, my wife, son, and I toured Utah State University campus in Logan Utah! I've got to say that we were very impressed with our tour guide, Carson ( absolutely perfect ) who we thoroughly enjoyed! Nice job Carson! I had to peel of he tour a little early due to an ankle injury but I only missed a little bit. We really really enjoyed the tour! What a nice campus! Afterwards we watched a little bit more video, listened to some final information and then the entire group was treated to a free lunch in one their on campus dining halls! This school is one of the finest schools in the western US! Research and development in the agricultural field has earned the USU a spot on the ISS growing things! If you live in California you might know that USU had engineering people responsible for fixing the Oroville Dam before it had a chance to ruin many lives. That's right! USU engineers! If you look at college rankings, this school passes the test with flying colors. We knew that before we came here today so expectations were off the charts. Our expectations have been exceeded and my wife and I feel extremely confident about our son's choice. AFROTC detachment 086 is here with a highly respected program which fits right into my son's master plan to fly extremely large aircraft for the USAF! Logan Utah? What a sweet city! Wife and I love looking at real estate and Logan has a lot of nice areas to live. USU! Instead of teaching its psychology students to be productive and compassionate members of society, USU teaches them how to torture rats. Students in a course called Advanced Analysis of Behavior are forced to lock rats inside barren metal boxes, where they're blasted with disorienting bursts of light for nearly an hour at a time while being trained to push a lever to get food. This cruelty is 100% unnecessary and can be replaced with animal-free simulators, harming no one--in fact, USU used to use such a simulator for this course. The university's decision to return to causing distress to sentient beings is inexcusable. Really, the school deserves zero stars until it ends this cruelty. read more

Solid university of northern Utah, home of the "Aggies". Having gone here for a year and a half, I was blown away with how much of a "value" this university has, and I'm not just talking about tuition! Every week or so this university hosts some kind of activity, music show, or dance, and because of the small size (and remoteness) of Logan EVERYBODY comes to them! They are an absolutely fun time and good break from academics. My time at college was never more fun. For the academic side of things, this school has pretty good programs for the monetary endowment they get. Their engineering school is top notch and so is their education program. The advisors here are also very friendly and the teachers genuinely care about you... although I can't guarantee they will be the best teachers you ever had (or so I say for the sciences that's just my experience). USU is a great school *IF* you are an anthropology major! Not that I am bias or anything. All of my professors in the anthropology program have been super supportive and helpful with my wanting to do undergraduate research and letting me focus on my specialty/emphasis (reproductive anthropology). Also, USU has FANTASTIC scholarships! I've applied for scholarships every year that I have been attending, and have gotten several. Downsides- Dry Campus, Not many GF/Veg food options on campus, and it's freakin' COLD in Logan! read more

I couldn't love this school any more than I already do. I only went here for a year, and then transferred south to a different school. One of the worst decisions of my life! The employees/professors at this school are overall better quality than most, the campus is gorgeous (but spread out, which isn't fun in the winter), and the team spirit is what makes it memorable. The people of Logan are much nicer as well. I always felt proud to be a student at USU, and I wish I had stayed to graduate there instead of elsewhere. read more

I've now been here for half a semester. After a rockey start I got into the swing of things and have learned a lot about the resources USU has to offer. If you are planning on attending here I would recommend that you research their student resources before you begin the process. So far my instructors here are top notch. It is impressive how much better they are here than the instructors are at the community college. I sort of wish I had spent the extra cash and come here for my generals instead of going to SLCC. The only complaint I have at this point is that the parking really sucks. read more

Great programs within specific departments. College of Natural Resources, Education, Engineering, and School of Business all come to mind. The Honors program, research opportunities, and extracurricular programs are all ways to enhance your experience. It can be improved with added diversity among its student body. read more

I would say this University is like many others, it usually doesn't go out of its way to be exceptional. Many of the people that work there treat you like crap. For example my wife had to take the ACCUPLACER for math and they treated her like a baby and also treated me poorly when asking who I should write the check to. It isn't uncommon for other institutions to have you write a check to another name. Many of the professors don't seem like they care about students I've got about a fourth of all of them who I've really liked. My adviser seems like she doesn't genuinly care about me and got upset when I left an email and a phone message. i figured that it would be easier to call when I realized that I forgot to put my phone number in the email. Also, while trying to opt out of SOAR because I was in mexico and was scheduled to be in Mexico for more months I was given the run around for hours on the phone. read more

This is the best college in the entire world. Helpful staff, intelligent professors, safe campus, great health services, dedicated on campus housing. The best part is the positive environment and school spirit. WAY better than any other Utah college. Great location. Lots of outdoorsy stuff to do. Super social. Fun tradition. Great scholarships.
