After buying and returning a defective surfboard from amazon, I decided it would be best to buy my…read morefirst board from a local shop where I could make sure I was buying the right board for me. When I walked in I let the staff know I had never surfed before but was wanting to learn. The man walked around the store with me to show me all my options and gave some recommendations before letting me look on my own. Once I picked a board out they put the fins on for me right there and had me pick out a leash (separate purchase) and attached it for me in the store. With my purchase they also provided a little bag with wax, stickers, and a key for the fins in case I needed any of it. I ended up spending much more than the board I returned to amazon. However, for everything I bought, I believe it was reasonably priced. I am grateful this happened, as I now feel secure knowing I will be learning on a board that is best for me. Not to mention the fact that this board is so much prettier too! Throughout my whole experience at Surfers Supplies, everyone who helped me was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The staff worked as a team and made sure every customer left with what they needed, without acting like "salesman". I would definitely recommend Surfers Supplies for any of your surfing necessities. I will be back to this shop if and when I ever need something new!

I'm not the image of a skateboarder (I'm middle aged, overweight and under flexible) but when I popped upstairs to look at some board parts, I was greeted with respect, good questions, and good nature. Ended up buying some Sanuks and browsing for a while (great selection of boards of all flavors, surf wear, and beach clothing). The whole staff was responsive and great. When it's time to finish outfitting the commemorative deck I received as an award, I'll be back.

He tries to make things as sustainable as you can given the materials he works with. He loves to incorporate flax and basalt into his work if you're interested, which I most definitely was! When I heard through another local business that this woman had set up surfing camps and lessons…read morethat are woman friendly and all ages welcome, I was excited to try it! As a 40-year-old mom of three Who has always been in good shape but never quite been able to surf, I figured this would be a good place for me to start to learn. I was right. After speaking with me on the phone for a bit she paired me up with gonzo, who is frankly the best surfing instructor I could imagine. I am pretty picky about teachers because I feel like if I'm going to pay you you better know more than I do and be able to correct poor technique and show up on time and have a positive attitude - too much to ask? You wouldn't think so but you'd be surprised what some surfing set ups in the area give you for your money. This mama is satisfied with your experience and can recommend this business to others. It's never too late to start learning to surf! I know they do kids and stuff too but everyone does.
