This is a long one but I believe in full disclosure…read more I was searching for a new cleaning company for our small office in the Flatiron district. Found 4 Star which was highly rated on Google reviews. After much amicable email communication, one of their workers came in to assess the space and take notes on what we needed. I quickly received an email from 4 Star who agreed to a VERY low-priced contract. I was very happy with their immediate response time in answering my questions. I called all their references and they all turned out well. I signed the contract and was excited to get started. The (I presume) manager, Chris, dropped by the office to tour the space and take notes. All good. She asked me to send her a checklist so that she could review it with the worker before they came to take the office tour. We were set to start service in two weeks. A week later, I inquired as to when we would be assigned a worker so that I could take them around the office, show them our security procedures and give them a set of keys. Chris replied that they were still working on finding a worker. I follow up a few days to see what the progress was. Chris says that the worker they are going to assign has a day job and will not be able to come in to tour the office. if I want to meet them, i am going to have to meet them late at night when their shift would be scheduled to start. So I'm supposed to hand over full access to an office full of very expensive equipment to someone I've never met? And that person is supposed to clean an office 5 days a week that they've never even toured or know where anything is or what needs to be cleaned? I started to think this was fishy but agreed to stay late at the office to meet the person. Another day goes by and she emails me that the checklist was not what we agreed to and that they were going to have to increase the contract price by almost 50%! The "extra" items were wiping down bathroom hardware, wiping out the toaster oven, and removing any food/drink from desks. I put them in the checklist assuming this was part of standard office cleaning but it is apparently not part of their standard contract. So I said "I can't justify a 50% increase for those three things. Let's leave the price as is and go with your standard contract." A few hours later, I get the following email: "I received a call from the owner of Four Star General Cleaning instructing us not to take on any additional accounts as he has lined up a large account which will take all of our attention for the next few months. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide you with cleaning service. Good luck in your future endeavors." Two days before you are scheduled to start service!?! I released our old cleaning crew. We signed a contract. You give me two days notice? Wow. I guess it's a blessing in disguise but it sure did screw us over. Busy Bee Cleaning agreed to match their price and is way more professional and honest in their dealings! Even their website is much nicer and easier to navigate. Go with Busy Bee!

Okay it seems like with Cleaning Day it's really luck of the draw. The cleaners aren't branded with…read morelogos or t shirts or supplies in any way - just a random person showing up with their own cleaning supplies. We got lucky w Alejandro! He was super nice and despite a language barrier we were able to discuss what I needed cleaned. It was slightly annoying to me that Cleaning day did not give him all of the details though. I don't think I should have had to explain things but alas, the clean he did was great!! Really the reason I'm not giving 5 stars is bc it seems rly up to chance, the communication from the company feels extremely lacking and there's no support for a language barrier. There were a few miscommunications also (which again was NO fault of Alejandro's!). The price felt like I underpaid for the kitchen clean but overpaid for the bedroom - it was tough to know what to expect based on the website and not being able to totally communicate with the cleaner they sent (and I know they have bilingual staff bc someone called me as the cleaner was having an issue getting into my building.) Overall I might book again, but I'd know I need to be home for the entire cleaning so I am able to communicate various things the cleaner wasn't told. Which is sort of annoying to know that for the several hours a cleaner is there, I also have to be. I'd probably use this service again! But just have realistic expectations of what the process will look like to get you your beautifully cleaned home!

Really great that they specialize and have specific service for move-in/move-out. Setting everything up with Maria worked quickly and they sent over a standard list of what all was included--which is very helpful, rather than having to think of all the little things yourself, like inside the drawers and inside the cabinets, etc to go over, and then we discussed a couple of things that were slightly off the standard at my place. Maria and Tonis were so wonderfully nice and easy to work with. They really did a super-human job and turned our apartment into an entirely new place including getting at all the nooks and crannies at least I never manage to get at myself. They were very communicative and so we could go get other things done while they worked knowing they'd get in touch if need be. At the end of the day, the best I can say is THANK YOU!

The person who came was lovely and did some cleaning, but overall, what the person who comes is expected to do is subpar and qualifies as light cleaning at best. We had paid for a deep clean for the extra time it takes to really clean, but it soon became clear that I would simply be paying double for no more cleaning than the basic clean. So I changed it to standard plus. I had to leave for an appointment and when we got back, it wasn't clear whether or not the floors had been swept, certainly not vacuumed, and if they were mopped, it was the most cursory mop at best. A waste of money and a huge disappointment. Use at your own risk. (Meanwhile, I still tipped the person $30 because my aim is not to exploit her and I know she put in the time.) But the company and services being promoted do not remotely meet what is being provided.

I came home at 10:39 to all my makeup , receipts and perfumes thrown together in a garbage bag sitting on my dresser and my new clothes still in the bags having been shoved into a laundry bag. She said she mopped the floors but the floor in the living area and bathroom were still very dirty . Neither the stove nor refrigerator were clean, so not sure what they did all that time . To top it off she tried saying I owed her two more hours. I paid her for four hours and then she tried saying my husband only paid her for three . I also made a mistake of paying cash to be nice after she took the train here for over three hours which lets you know she is not located in Chelsea. I live in Seagate- it is an hour train ride away. My house did smell like cheap fabuloso so maybe that's why the floors weren't clean . She was supposed to bring her own supplies but came with no vacuum. I see now there are no reviews and this is not a legit company. Also they put the candy that was on my dresser in the garbage bag which opened and all my expensive makeup pallets are now full of sugar!!
