I had a tire with a small hole in it. I knew I was going to get new tires soon but still needed to drive the car, so I would stop at the most convenient gas station and fill up the tire. I only had to do it once or twice a month. At a certain point, that changed to every week or so. One Saturday, on my way to my friend's house in San José, I realized that I wouldn't make it at the rate that I was going, so I got off the freeway near the airport, assuming that I'd find a gas station. Unfortunately, I found this one. I had plenty of quarters, but for some reason, the air machine ate my first few quarters without turning on. The attendant told me I had to put more quarters in. I told him I only needed to fill one tire, and he said the machine is messed up and requires more quarters. I returned to the machine, and he was right about it needing more quarters. When I put the next one in (two more than the printed price), it turned on. I filled my tire up, checked the pressure, and was adding air to my other front tire when it turned off. I went back to the attendant and asked him for two quarters since I had overpaid. He laughed at me and told me that I should sue the gas station in small-claims court. "You're really going to charge people more than the price on the sign?" I asked. "The machine is broken," he said. "We tried to fix it, but it's not worth getting a whole new machine when this one basically works. It's just moody and doesn't start when it should." That's totally absurd. The person working here has the worst customer service I've seen for some time. Upon pulling in, I saw him shouting at someone and I'm not sure why. Then my card want reading in the pump and he came up very aggressive telling me how he was trying to help - he wasn't. I went into the store to pay for gas and he slow motion followed me - took him at least 2 mins to walk 30 ft. Then he said 'what do you want' and I said 'to fill my gas up'. Well I was having a good morning until I had to fill my gas and use the restroom. The gas station's parking spots are taken and there were literally nobody pumping gas this morning so i figured i could just pull up by the pump, use the restroom, buy my cigarette, pump my gas, and leave. As soon as I came into the store I was rudely confronted by this African-American attendant. At first I wasn't able to understand him right away because he was yelling so fast. Telling me to not park by pump if I am only using the restroom. So trying to understand where he is coming from I apologized and explained that I am getting gas. He answered yelling "Next time park your car first so it doesn't block my business." So I said, Ok Im sorry I wont do it again. He finally let me use the restroom... not even two minutes of being inside and as I was about to come out, he was yelling and kicking the door! "SIR!" He yells. I did not have anything to say anymore because first I do not have the time for this and he already walked away, secondly I simply dont engage to this kind of negativity. So I went out of the store and back to my car. I still filled my gas and left. So if I were you... avoid this gas station! As stated from other reviews. There's a Valero further west of the street. And if you go down further there is a Shell and a better 76 station at the corner of San Bruno Ave and El Camino Real. (The gas there is about 50c to a dollar cheaper too!) read more

This gas station violates the ADA by discriminating against people with disabilities. We just stopped here with my service dog, and right when we got out with the dog, Edward (a worker) came and said that she couldn't "walk on the lot." I didn't even try to bring her inside, despite my legal right to do so. Our group was already purchasing things from the station, so it's not like we gave them nothing. I politely explained that the dog is a service animal and offered to show her ID to prove it. He didn't care, and just repeated that she couldn't be in the gas station lot. I explained that she needed to pee and we were just walking to the grass near the station. I carried her back to the car so her paws wouldn't touch his precious lot. Clearly he cares more about chastising and shaming people than helping them. Edward, work on yourself and stop taking your issues out on others. read more

He told me of another gas station down the street so I went there and filled up my car. This 76 has it as the closest and most convenient location to refuel a rental car when returning to SFO on the 101 to avoid being charged prices that would make Ticketmaster blush. This 76 also hopes you don't drive another few blocks down San Bruno Ave to the Valero between 2nd and 3rd Ave that is consistently ~$0.40/gallon cheaper. Based on the 2011 review I'm not sure if this is a recent phenomenon but avoid at least for now unless you are literally on your last half-mile (since if every minute counts you're probably going to go for the TicketGaster option above.) read more

He started by yelling at him over the loudspeaker, then when my husband went inside, Ed was in the process of yelling at another customer. At this point, we should've left, but didn't. Ed demanded the keys to the car. My husband ended up asking for his keys back so he could leave. Next thing I know, Ed is following him back to the pump screaming at him, got within a few inches of him, called him a motherf*@ker, and then we left. I wanted to stop for a snack and some oil for my car. I didn't want gas so i parked in a yellow zone near the door. This man runs out yelling. He told me you can't block the door. I told him I'm not blocking the door and i just want to buy something real quick. I parked in a handicap spot because there was no other spots and i wasn't getting gas so i didn't want to block the pumps. Maybe i should have blocked the pumps. I was there a total of 2 minutes and he was rude inside the little store too. He just kept repeating you can't block the door. But i wasn't blocking the door. How was i able to walk inside the store? I should mention this was in ths daytime and there was absolutely no one there. No one buying gas or buying anything from the store. I bought my can of oil and put it in my car and left. Side note. I looked up yellow painted curbs. It is for loading and unloading freight. But this was not a public curb just painted cement on private property so not sure if paint colors matter. Great location, conveniently located right by the 280 freeway S and N. The guy working there, when I stopped by was very friendly.

This place has been a lifesaver. The fact that it's just over the freeway from the long term airport has been the main selling and lifesaving point for me. Usually, I'm in such a rush to get to the airport that I neglect my car's needs. Now, I just pick up my car, drive over to the station, and then get back on the freeway for home. read more
