I told him to plz pump midgrade, and he proceeded to put in regular both times- The first time, he made the argument that midgrade only is regular and plus mixed- hence, he saw no need to heed my instructions that midgrade is what is good for my Toyota Forerunners engine. The second time he did this and chose not to listen to my fuel grade specification, we got into it, and the cops were called to dispute whether or not he took money from me over his stupid mistake. The cop went to the station and spoke with him, and it was clarified that due to his mistake of again not heeding my fuel grade specification- and switching over to plus partway through the transaction- the meter read 16.64 and did not reflect the 20 Dollar bill I had given him. Because I got upset over the situation, I am now apparently forbidden by him to return to that particular business. I will not rest until the manager knows about his rude and disrespectful behavior toward me, which he seems to only direct specifically at me, although this is hard to say for certain. I'm an Arcata local and have children, and I will personally make sure the manager - Roger or Earl or whoever manages that place knows what an asshole he is to certain customers. I see now in a few of the other reviews that it is actually common for them to treat paying customers like garbage.

Even though I had more than $175, my card was declined and was frozen. Was stuck at this gas station for over an hour trying to unfreeze my card JUST to get gas to get home. I would NEVER stop here again nor recommend the place. Ridiculous!

The great thing about this gas station is the fuel price when you pay cash. They give you a 20…read morecent per gallon discount. Their credit card price is about what you would pay anywhere in nearby Arcata or Eureka (which is expensive compared to the rest of the state due to the isolation of Humboldt County (the "Lost Coast")), but with the cash discount it makes it the place to purchase fuel in the Arcata Area (my son, who lives 4 miles away in Arcata, says it is worth the drive to fill his near empty fuel tank here). Since this is the gas station for the nearby casino, you will find slot machines inside the gas station.

My car was truly embarrassingly filthy from camping parked under a tree that exuded something, not sap, and then driving through dust which adhered to it. Two guys did a prewash that was so thorough that the wash itself could have been only a rinse and dry. The whole thing as about $10 and the vacuum gave more than enough time for $1 in quarters.

Here's what happened: The local Ford dealership told us our tires were worn. 7/32 tread depth in the front and 6/32 in the rear. I ordered four new Cooper tires from Tetrault. My wife took our car to have the tires installed while i was at work. The manager comes out and asks my wife if we wanted them to put our old tires in our car to take home when they install the new tires as they hadn't installed them yet. My wife was puzzled so she called me and had me talk to the manager. He explained that our tires were like new and figured we were replacing them because they were Michelin CrossClimate2 Grand Touring All-Season Tires and he thought we wanted summer tires and then rotate them back to the Michelins next winter. I told him what the Ford dealership had told me and he said, no our tires are just like new. I asked if he minded if we didn't buy the new tires even though they had them shipped to the shop just for us and they were a special size. He said no problem. I had them balance and rotate our tires.
