Everyone at the 76 station across the street seems nice and to value our business As far as this Shell goes, the staff wont even turn on the air if you purchase something in the store. The last straw was when my business partner bought gas and needed air for tires, the grumpy lady behind the counter told him he didnt buy enough gas to allow her to turn on the air. Not only is it a state law to provide free air to paying customers, its just terrible to be so rude with something thats free and all around us... AIR! I also hope these people are aware that not turning on the air for paying customers shows they are more interested in saying no and not being helpful than providing customer and motorists services to their community. Eureka really doesnt need another Shell station, especially one with rude employees. AVOID and just go across the street to 76.

In my 15 years of being a member here i have never once been mistreated or rudely talked to. Anytime I ask for anything everybody is above and beyond, smiling and so willing to help. This is legitimately one of the only institutions in Humboldt county where you don't hate to go to, because the people aren't awful and hate their lives. When I called to get info from them, someone picked up right away & answered all my questions. I was told I could come in without an appt so I went in the next morning when they opened. It turns out I was right & it was just a TPMS sensor so they replaced it & I was back on the road about 20 mins after I walked in. They were very reasonably priced & stuck to their estimate. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5: I have a neurological condition that sometimes affects how I talk. When I was checking in, I told the man the make & model of my car & he couldn't understand me. He asked me 3x before he finally understood what I was saying. He started laughing & said he had never heard anybody pronounce the names the way I had. Then he imitated the way I said the names. I apologized for the confusion & explained that I'm in speech therapy but he kept chuckling. I wanted to sink through the floor. I would like to be very clear to state that I don't think he was being malicious in any way. I think he was just genuinely amused & didn't realize how he was coming across. I will be going back to Tetrault for other tire issues as they come up & would recommend them to others. They did good work at a reasonable price & were super quick about it. Having said that, I'm still pretty upset & embarrassed about what happened. It's made more me self-conscious & anxious about talking to people because I'm now worried others are going to react like he did.
