Long tables and offices. Couches, a huge case of stairs for you to sit and study on in the middle of one huge room, and Stauf's downstairs. Very cool! Would love to come back here for another event!

The Idea Foundry defines itself as a community of makers, designed to help you explore new ideas and unleash your passion to make things. It is a place for creative people to gather, work on their projects, bounce ideas off of and support others. They also offer a multitude of classes to the community. We decided to sign up for "Woodshop Orientation A: Table Saw, Miter Saw, Jointer & Planer" in the hopes that it would help us with our first home project. The cost is $90 per person for non members. Yes, you can become a member but I'm not going to get into all that info in this review. If you want more info on that, check out their website. When we arrived on a Saturday morning, our class was given a mini tour of the foundry. Then we went into the workshop that they utilize as their classroom. There was one instructor for our small class of 9 people. I appreciated that the class was small. I also enjoyed the instructors vast knowledge and concern for woodshop safety. In fact, maybe the class should have been named Woodshop Safety 101. We went through the class with one piece of wood, starting by making a cut with the miter saw, and working out way through the use of each tool. By the end of the class we had a perfectly cut and planed smaller piece of wood. Ultimately what I think I got from this class was the confidence to use machinery such as the table saw and miter saw on my own. The class gave me a real chance in my adult years to use these tools and I hope that will be helpful for me in the future.

Smash Art is so fun! We brought a group of 12 Brownie Girl Scouts (ages 7&8) for an art badge…read moreactivity. The girls loved making art in the splash room with paint-filled water balloons, squirt guns, sponges, etc. It was truly a fun and unique experience! Diamond, who coordinated the outing with us, was so kind and inviting. I recommend Smash Art for a fun night out with friends or significant others, or as a family activity :)

We went in early February and there isn't a lot of heating so it was freezing. you do get a couple little cups of paint to paint a not enough to paint each other or anything else and you can't ask for refills, but I don't understand why the cups are so very little. some paint water balloons, but they didn't have any paint in them so they were just really cold. Tiny water balloons left in the bottom bucket that seemed like it had been used by a couple other people earlier that day and just had never been refilled. Same with the paint water guns it was just frigid cold water with little to no paint them so the spraying it on the walls or each other. Just cold. Water wasn't really fun. If there had been more paint and the water balloons or the water guns, if the art supplies would've been clean or if the water in the buckets or the guns or the squirt guns new it probably would've been really awesome. But it's not dark enough in the room that was half lit to see anything that isn't strong leaf fluorescent so a bunch of water down supplies meant we couldn't really see anything. So water balloons, water guns, all useless. It honestly just kind of seemed like they didn't care enough to set up the supplies so while it was fun to do with my partner because we made the best of it I would not do this again

Not artist friendly IMO! I've had a studio here for years. I started renting from Scott then the…read morebuilding switched hands to Keller Financial. I have a problem with the noise of the charter school at the other end of the building. This is a new charter school, I had zero problems w the previous school. The children are out of their designated fenced-in play area and screaming excessively outside of my window. There is a noise clause in the lease!! When I emailed Keller staff to address the excessive noise issue over the course of a few weeks and a handful of emails, I was given excuses and times (on and off through the entire business day) when I could expect the charter school to continue their behavior. My mental health is suffering along with my career as I am losing money and clients because I cannot create art with screaming children constantly in my headspace... And yes I was wearing noise canceling headphones, music blaring, I tried it ALL. Running out of options and pushed to a state of emotional distress I put on short shorts, high boots and proceeded to dance and smoke cigarettes just outside of my window until the charter school complained about ME. Within an hour of their complaint, the owner came to my studio to offer me a new space. His staff made the transition incredibly unpleasant. I have spent weeks and lost hundreds of dollars trying to fix this problem. My studio space now feels like a hostile environment! Do not recommend for any serious artists!
