While assisting a friend who was exiting a violent relationship, I recommended Townley Court Apartments. As a former tenant in 2002, I had a great experience there. Well, not this time. Clearly there has been a change in management. I contacted Townley Court on behalf of a friends who was leaving a violent relationship. We felt it best, since the other party may have been monitoring cell phone record and email, that I make the contact. Annette Loving, the manager, wasted my valuable time in a display of disrespect, blaming, and lack of courtesy.
Annette was gracious in allowing us to come on a Saturday, when the office is typically closed. There were 2 others who were touring a unit as well. Annette stated, "You are more than welcome to come by the office at 3pm." So we arrived at 2:52. Waited, and waited and waited for 30 minutes. I sent an email following up and advising her that we were going to leave because she hadn't shown up. The other 2 people there for the same appointment, after repeated failed attempts to contact, left.
I later received an email that blamed me for her not being there. She said that I had to confirm before showing up to her office. "You're more than welcome to come by my office at 3pm today..." must mean something completely different at Townley Court. I guess the other 2 didn't confirm their confirmation either. I find it hard to believe that 4 people kept waiting were to blame. By the end of the email conversation, I was told that it was my fault because I didn't confirm the confimation, I was setting up the appointment or a friend. She finally stated that she couldn't open the office because she was sick.
If this were, in fact the case, why in God's name, wouldn't she just send an email that said, "I'm sorry, I couldn't make it, I fell ill. I apologize for the inconvenience, and would like to reschedule a tour of the apartment as soon as possible."? Instead of owning what happened and chalking it up to circumstances beyond anyone's control, she blamed me for her inability to show up, Lectured me about the need to confirm already confirmed appointments, then patronized me with "Sorry for the inconvenience." Makes me wonder what response I would get if something needed fixed in the apartment.
To err is human. To pass blame, disrespect my time, and demonstrate a complete lack of common courtesy is leaned and unacceptable behavior. I bet if I dropped of a rent check late there'd be hell to pay. These people clearly do not want new tenants in this building. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. read more
