I'm trying to purchase my childhood home from my mother in Ohio despite me living in California…read more Trying to do the right thing and get a mortgage for my first investment property but the lender requires I contract a title company. I called Eagle Land Title Agency and am told by the person who picked up the phone that Jim will need to get back to me as he's not the one with the experience. Fine, I wait for Jim's call. Although I do admit I didn't give all of the information up front, Jim says he should be able to help. Great! I send him the contract between my mom and I that the lender has approved. In the contract I specify the seller will pay for taxes and I will pay for the closing costs including the work to be done by the title company. Jim says the contract doesn't detail out the specific charges and that I do not have a form that's normally included in other home purchases by the realtor board. He also advises I get a lawyer. I explain that I don't believe I need a lawyer and in response I'm asked to Google other title companies in the area that can help. Great! I will take my business elsewhere. Lesson learned, I will provide the most details upfront when I speak to another title company before I waste a full week to be told they don't want my business. Another important detail to note is I was asked to pay $500 upfront for the title search/examination and when I mention it to my mortgage banker, he tells me the bank will send a title order and the payment needs to be done at closing. Hope this helps everyone else out there looking for an honest title company.

RUNNNN. The high level of unprofessional conduct is absurd and concerning. Constantly combative…read moreand defensive. (see responses to yelp reviews and BBB complaints for further evidence). After terminating our contract, these are responses we got from Erin, the Owner, to our requests for financial records (they filed our tax return with the wrong name, which then caused issues with us opening Bank accounts following termination of their services): "While this is an absolutely adorable request, I will be getting everything to you by month end, per the 30 day allowance in our management contract. I am not sure what Tom may have previously indicated, but I am the one who oversees offboarding." "Thanks so much for your opinion, there is a reason we are not continuing to work together. I have looped the rest of the Board and Tom back in, and I will be sure we get you the documents and records by the end of the month. While I don't see any reason why it would actually take that long to close out the admin/financial piece, my priority remains the clients with whom we are contracted in 2026, and I will focus on offboarding your account within a reasonable timeframe." While, based on our experience with them WHILE they were managing our property, we did expect to have issues with the transition, at this point I just want to warn any other potential clients of how they handle both current and past clients. (I have similar emails from her while her firm was engaged by our COA).

This is the most unprofessional and unorganized property management group I have ever come across. I had an issue that should have been discovered and fixed proactively, result in damage to my property. It took almost a year to get ahold of someone to attempt to rectify the situation and now over 1 year later it still is not resolved. Additionally, this individual has been incredible rude and condescending throughout the entire process.

There were some fixes needed during our stay. The management and maintenance team responded to our requests in a very timely manner. For example, There were two ceiling fans that makes weird squeaking noises in the house. After we reported the issue they immediately contacted the property owner and brought two brand new fans for installation. No hassle, no extra charge, no back and forth arguments. We are very glad that we chose this company instead of renting from a private landlord. I think they are very professional and have a high quality of customer service.

The landlord is very friendly, so I initially thought that he would be a great communicator,…read morethereby making the living situation pleasant. However, I feel quite betrayed. The house was advertised to be noise-proof but I can hear the neighbor's conversations. Not to mention the sounds of their dog walking around the house. It's not the neighbor's fault-- they are just living their lives. But wow, I have lived under at least 5 different housing management teams before and it has never been this bad. Maintenance requests do not get done until couple months later, and even if they come over to fix the said problem, I can't tell that it was properly fixed. I honestly can not WAIT until I can move out of this house. EDIT: Bijan (the landlord) and I had a conversation. We came to the consensus that there was quite a bit of miscommunication on both sides of the party. Bijan definitely cares about the tenants' well-being. Once a distinct & straight-forward maintenance system is placed, I have no problems with this management company.

Just look at the reviews of Creekside at Taylor Square, a Crawford-Hoying managed (snicker)…read moreproperty. Should tell you all you need to know about the company. I'm sure they have a few folks living large but it sure isn't their residents. Shame-shame. It appears that the company's only concern is their new ventures, not maintaining what they have. Their apartment communities need so much work that if they actually did right by them they probably couldn't afford a new project. Exactly what is wrong with corporate America, not the large corporations but the small Crawford-Hoying type of glorified slum-lords with seemingly no integrity. Now, on the flip side, I can't speak about Crawford-Hoying Real Estate because I have never used them. Hopefully they do better work than the property management side.

The wrong answer is to come home off of active duty to an eviction notice, when they were alerted 30 days prior and were given a copy of my orders, I can tell you that much. And then when I furiously addressed the matter, they lied to my face. Redefines unprofessional and careless behavior towards uniformed service members. I would never recommend one of Crawford Hoying's locations to ANYONE, especially someone in the military because I would never want anyone to have to return home to an eviction notice.
