Frantic to find somewhere open on a holiday, I called and they said they were open. I came in and explained the situation, and the woman working the counter was so kind - clearly she was booked to the gills and didn't have time to work in another appointment, but she moved things around for me so that they could run a quick diagnostic on the car. Located the problem and fixed it quickly. You really can't ask for more from a small town service station -- and apparently if I'd come during normal hours there's a country store and other stuff in addition to the car service! They saved me a lot of stress by making sure everything was good to go before the long car ride home. A++

Late Aug, 2025. My husband and I travel occasionally between Louisa County and Winchester on US-50,…read morewith this Sheetz in Boyce, VA being a favorite rest stop -- given their good prices on gas, tasty coffee, and clean restrooms. While we don't usually order from their MTO (Made to Order) food options, we did this time because we reached around 12:30 pm and were hungry. They were offering a special $5 Hot Dog Meal -- which included two hot dogs (usually $10), 4 chicken nuggets (usually $2.79), and a bag of Fryz (usually $2.79). We balanced this with a Spicy Caesar Salad ($8.99), which contained romaine lettuce, a spicy chicken patty, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing. With tax, our meals cost $15.30. Overall, our ratings for this visit to Sheetz were: *Gas (4.5/5) for ease of accessing and using the pumps; gas price. *Restroom cleanliness (4.5/5). *MTO experience: (3/5) for ease of ordering at kiosk, paying for ordered items, and interaction with MTO staff/speed/etc. It was rather confusing to order at one kiosk and then have to pay at another register, and there were lines for both. Rewardz card didn't register our food purchase. *Food Quality. (3/5). We had mixed feelings about the food. Hot dogs were rather small, and the small bag of fries was only partially full. Neither the nuggets nor spicy chicken patty on the salad had much taste or texture though the latter did have a bit of a kick from the cayenne spice. Salad was okay but overpriced given the price point and size. Hot dogs meal was a good value. We would probably order grilled chicken next time. *Rewardz program. (2/5). My husband is a member of the Rewardz program that gives a 3-cents/gallon discount on gas, and points towards food items when you purchase items in-store or online. While we appreciate the savings on gas, but it's unfortunate that payments at the pump don't count towards earned Pointz, and the bar is set too high to be able to earn any of the Rewardz.

A FUN stopover from I-81 aka semi-truck race track…read more +. Ambiance is that of a rustic but clean tasting room. Think of an estate vineyard tasting room but for a potato chip maker. +++. They offer fresh made kettle chips here. Their manufacturing is quite automated with few human inspectors that visitors can see through big windows. No photos of their manufacturing rooms / processes are allowed. They offer potato chip tasting for free and you can buy flavors you want in various sizes. Can't get any fresher than this! They use snowden potatoes, sunflower oil and the pink salt from Utah. I've not seen so much of that great salt ever. I liked their mama zuma and salt and vinegar the best and bought enough to share with my family and friends. ++. Price seems reasonable for a small operation... comparable to major brands. +++. Service is friendly and informative. Very patient with many children visitors ( likely to/fro cavern visits ). ++. Parking is free next to the plant / tasting room / gift shop. Not thrilled that they use sunflower oil but happy they use the same salt I use at home. I hadn't seen this brand before but I like them better than Miss Vickie's. Apparently they distribute through specialty stores and deli's.

We stopped by on a Monday which is apparently a day they don't make chips. The building is huge but the store and tasting part is rather dinky and awkward. I guess I thought there would be huge barrels or tubs of chips in different flavors and you could sample them with gloves or something? The nice worker at the counter just asks what you want and sends you to a picnic table with individual bags of each flavor! They were generous samples! They missed an opportunity to just have a little cafe for sandwiches and soup. Like, if there ever was an occasion to sell sandwiches and soup, it would be to go with chips! They do sell some bottled drinks so we bought 2. We bought 1 12oz, 1 6oz and 1 24oz in sour cream and chives and lightly salted. I'm a chip connoisseur and while I loved their kettle cooked chip, I was not impressed with their seasonings. The crab one was too salty, the spicy one was just flat--only spicy and salty, salt and pepper was too peppery, etc. The sour cream and chives was fantastic though. I can't get enough of that one flavor. I would swap out their dill, salt and vinegar, crab and pepper for cheddar and sour cream, butter garlic, French onion or sweet Maui onion.
