It's a pretty reliable spot for a quick snack or drink. My only qualms is there are often people hanging around outside asking for money, and sometimes the floors by the Slurpee machines get a little sticky (though I guess that's kind of par for the course at almost any 7-Eleven).

But recently they've been forced to hire security which keeps loitering to a minimum and the pan handlers away. This 7/11 is conveniently located and open 24-7 incase of emergencies or late night munchies. The store isn't very clean. And most of the time the windows are broken into, but this visit the security stood right next to the register while I seen other patrons stealing food from the food section. Definitely normal for businesses downtown to deal with the unpleasant consumers. They accept EBT, cash and card. I only use tap pay to deter touching anything. All in all, the options are plentiful and they have everything you want or need, mostly at a premium price tag for the convenience.

I'm finally posting a review after hearing MULTIPLE stories similar to mine....and learning that this place steals from kids. When my daughter and her friend (who's African-American) were 11/12 years old, they went there to buy candy. The person working made my daughters friend stop and empty his pockets and accused him of stealing. He wasn't stealing. I contacted to owner about this situation and he basically said it is what it is. This location lost their ability to sell lottery tickets because of shady practices, and now when kids come in to shop they won't give them their change. They keep the money from these kids. Help be the change needed for these kids and go somewhere else. PS. the gas is over priced here anyways.

On the convenience store side, they check all the boxes. All the treats. Icees. beer. Some coffee drinks I haven't tried but that were enough for other yelpers to specifically rave about. The gas side is certainly better than many pumps around town in that it's operational, cheaper (especially so if you pay cash) and has pumps that are regularly in good working order. Each time I stop in there is no line or wait and I'm out in a jiffy. So as far as gas stations are concerned...Land Park Valero, you can top me off anytime.

Which I totally understand the man I guess put the backpack in his car or outside and came back in. However, security still did not stop harassing him. The gentleman did say something to security, but I think it's very unprofessional when that security guard is following him all over the store, arguing with him and using the F word over and over and over and over. The gentleman got what he needed and was standing in line. He was behind me and security from Allied security would not stop talking and using the F word I said, can you please stop you, setting my anxiety off then he proceeded to give me an attitude and use the F word. Unacceptable behavior manager was at the register and did absolutely nothing about it. I am trying to find out the contact info for Allied security where I can report the security that you have hired. My five year-old granddaughter is usually with me and thank God she wasn't today. The security guard had made the situation bigger than it should've been and in today's world that man could've had a gun and shot us all. I really hope that Walgreens can contact their security company, Allied security and make sure that the security guard does not come back to that store. I was in there today at 5:15 PM.

Adj: Small but Mighty little Grocery Outlet…read more Still a good one, an oldie but a goodie. We've been coming here for over a decade, and it's still a consistently good GO. For a more pricey part of town since it's in midtown, just on the edge of downtown really, this GO has stayed reasonable in all it offers. It's located at 1700 Capitol Ave not far from the east side of Capitol Park a few blocks from the Capitol Rose Garden. This GO is right across 17th St from the East End Complex buildings with offices for the CA Dept of Public Health and CA Dept of Health Care Services. Out front there were still some herbs and spring seasonal plants on sale, although only 1 rack of them left, since it's already kind of late in the planting season. This is a smaller store, given how expensive real estate is in downtown, but the owners have really packed it all in. Every section has most everything other bigger Grocery Outlet stores carry, except maybe not as many of any given item, but overall, I see that most things I'm looking for and buy regularly at my neighborhood GO is still available here. You've got your fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, dairy (milk and yogurt), sundries, pantry staples like cans and dry pasta, seasoning (sauces and spices), freezer items (frozen veg, meats and heat-and-eat meals), and beers & wines all available here with great variety. As you enter the store there's a super convenient grab-n-go deli cold case section for quick ready-to-eat lunches which is super helpful for office workers who might be just looking to get something very quickly for lunch without breaking the bank. You can get a salad kit, a ready-made sandwich, pre-cut fruits, some cheeses, or a deli salad in this section. There's also a small floral section right near here so if you were looking for a gift to give to a coworker/boss/friend/your significant other, you can very easily and quickly find a nice potted plant or a small bouquet and be on your way. It's definitely not a full-service floral dept, but there's a good assortment of plants and flowers to choose from and some of were even tropical plants that looked pretty unique! Next there's the health & beauty section next, and it's pretty comprehensive. Next is the produce section and it's smaller than a suburban GO, but it's still got a little bit of most kinds of veggies and fruits you'd be looking for, and if you're ok with a different brand of salad than your go-to brand, you'd definitely find some here, so the key is flexibility while shopping at GO. Then there's the meat dept next to the produce section, it is smaller, but still a good sized display case filled with meats of all kinds, and next to that are the dairy cold cases where I saw some pretty nice brands of creamers such as Califia coconut creamer and Nutpods creamer, both priced so much lower than regular grocery stores, I'll add pics of those. My fav section is the snacks area. I found some snacks here that have been out of stock at 2 other GO's I visited looking for them, so I stocked up and bought a bunch so I won't run out! So thankful that they had them in stock! The rest of the store is laid out and stocked with pretty much the same items as other bigger GO's. You've got your dairy, frozen, pantry staples, and wine sections in addition to the other departments I already mentioned, and everything looked pretty well organized and quite easy to find. One thing is that the aisles here are closer together probably so they can save space and maximize their shelves to provide as much wonderful grocery items to their customers as they can. Check out was quite easy and the cashier was friendly and quick. Thank you Midtown GO and we hope you will keep on keeping us well-fed at affordable prices. I'll definitely be back to restock when I run low on my essentials and to look for new and exciting items at my favorite "bargain market"!

Sometime you just want to hurriedly grab some ready-to-heat-and-eat meals or some chips, drinks, and other snacks, and GO provides these and more conveniently without having to go to a regular supermarket that sometimes just feels big and overwhelming, plus GO often have good deals without having to look for the sales. A no-brainer in my book. So I've come here several times and it used to be really nice and it's still ok, but due to the sad and kind of dire homelessness problem downtown, there's quite a lot of the unhoused folks hanging out in front or around the store, and sometimes they aren't in a good space mentally, so be aware of that when you come by to shop. But generally, the store has done a lot to keep shoppers safe and the store is clean inside although the outside might be more grungy on the sidewalks and parking lot. I've found some really good deals here, some even phenomenal ones, haha.. I always look at the meat section for deals first, and then dairy, cheeses, yogurts, eggs, chips and candies types snacks next, and I don't really look at produce or pantry foods, but the wife would take care of those. I found these amazing sausages for $1.99 recently. What the heck?! I definitely got me a few packs. They've got seasonal items here too, right now it's a lot of Easter candies, cookies, cereal, and even stuff animals and toys. There's also seasonal spring plants, although it's more hit/miss whether they have them here vs. GO's in residential neighborhoods where the vegetable starts are always available in March/April.
