Went in there today. I know that this Walgreens is in a very shady area and they always have homeless people and people stealing, coming in and out all the time. Usually, the security guard at the door is very professional, and by the way, they are employed by Allied security Today was an exception. Amanda come in with the backpack and security asked him to leave it outside or at the door before he came in. Which I totally understand the man I guess put the backpack in his car or outside and came back in. However, security still did not stop harassing him. The gentleman did say something to security, but I think it's very unprofessional when that security guard is following him all over the store, arguing with him and using the F word over and over and over and over. The gentleman got what he needed and was standing in line. He was behind me and security from Allied security would not stop talking and using the F word I said, can you please stop you, setting my anxiety off then he proceeded to give me an attitude and use the F word. Unacceptable behavior manager was at the register and did absolutely nothing about it. I am trying to find out the contact info for Allied security where I can report the security that you have hired. My five year-old granddaughter is usually with me and thank God she wasn't today. The security guard had made the situation bigger than it should've been and in today's world that man could've had a gun and shot us all. I really hope that Walgreens can contact their security company, Allied security and make sure that the security guard does not come back to that store. I was in there today at 5:15 PM. read more

I don't have high expectations for Walgreens but this store is one of the more disappointing ones. Staff are difficult to track down and when you do they act as though you've inconvenienced them. The pharmacy is always hit or miss as well. The outside of the store is a little sketchy but generally it's fine. read more

This is my local Walgreens where I pick up my prescription monthly and pick up odds and ends frequently. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The check out person always has a smile on their face. The pharmacy is helpful and quick. They are detail oriented and never mess up my insurance. My prescriptions are super cheap here. It's always clean and orderly. This Walgreens has a pharmacy, photo center, grocery, and refrigerated grocery. If you need to pick up some basics, this is your place. Note: grocery prices are higher than you'd find at a supermarket. read more

This is the worst run business I have ever seen. In the 4 minutes I was there three people walked in and walked out without paying. Wether they are not adding auto renewal after being asked, failing to provide prompt service, dead naming you, or using any rules they can to be petty among numerous other problems it would be in your best interest NOT to use them. ZERO stars needed to be 100% accurate on this review!!!!!!! After being with Rite Aid (best pharmacy ever my opinion) for 10+ years they closed and prescriptions were automatically transferred to Walgreens. Unfortunately, they are a disaster and unprofessional! They have screwed up my prescriptions refills for the last time! They lied about how many (3mth refills) was given. Not to mention the back and forth with a pharmacy assistant. Numerous phone calls for them to state they "looked" a the tape and I received all my prescriptions. BS!!!!!! After about a week went it to talk to someone (because store/pharmacy was closed) to find out my prescriptions had been there the whole time! Right there on the shelf! SERIOUSLY? YOUR KIDDING ME, RIGHT? Beyond frustrated and extremely shocked at their practices, I've transferred my prescriptions to another pharmacy!!! Unfortunately, they are giving my new pharmacy the run around on a specific medication ( been on for 10+yrs) isn't in there system/ my profile to transfer. WTF... Give me a break Walgreens!!! Photo center is horrible. I ordered 2 custom pre-paid photo items. I received a notification that the item was delivered and ready for pick up. When I came to the photo center, they indicated the item was not received nor did they have anything on file for the order. The clerk recommended that maybe the item got delivered to the wrong address & to the other Walgreens down the street. Nobody at either Walgreens locations ever answer their phones so I had to drive in person to check. No luck there either. None of the staff in both locations was helpful in figuring out where my order was or how I can even get a refund. Staff walk around lazy like they hate their jobs. Next time, better get your items shipped rather than picked up. read more

I have a condition that requires me to go to the pharmacy every 4 weeks. I used to love this store.. For the past six months or so, since there was a personell change, they can't seem to get anything right, i.e., can't seem to keep 4 weeks, 28 days distinguished from 30 days. They tell me there is a problem with my prescription, I call, then there isn't, etc. It has gone from great to lousy. read more

What's the point of scheduling a flu shot online when you're just going to have to wait an additional 30+ minutes? I did my due diligence and scheduled my appointment for my shot two days ago. When I got here, there were two people still waiting to get their shot. Wtf? The people who have a scheduled appointment should be able to get their shot at the time they selected. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. The three of us waiting were told that the person administering the shot was "on the phone". Hmmmm, if you know you've got people waiting, perhaps you should tell the guy to get off the phone since he's holding things up. Just a thought. I don't think I'll be back next year. read more

Woefully understaffed. Blue Shield limits RX to Walgreens and this is the only one in a 5- mile radius of the downtown area so I can imagine their traffic is pretty high. But it's also completely across town for a lot of us. I've been hold for more than 15 minutes twice today (am writing this review while I wait and still can't get through). The pharmacist is a delight - helpful, quick, human. He exemplifies the good service of days not that far in the past when competent people were allowed to do their jobs rather than follow rote procedures. This store should do everything it can to keep him. The other counter staff can't get their heads and minds out of a computer screen and script. That's not entirely their fault in corporatized retail environments but it's pretty maddening when an anomaly comes up and they can't solve outside the box and stare at you with a blank look when there is a completely obvious solution. Thank you corporate America for sucking the last breath of air out of human interaction and initiative in retail and then spending millions to try to woo customers through yet more robotic scripts. read more

I dropped my disposable camera off on December 7, and the photo department said it would be ready for pick up on December 14. They also gave me a customer reciept stating it would be ready for pick up on 12/14. I get there on the 14th, and the photo department said that my photos weren't ready, to come back on December 16. I called them on the 16th, Spoke to Karen , and she says that my disposable camera has not been picked up for development. And that she would have UPS pick it up that day (12/16) i asked her why they would lie to me when I showed up on the 14th for pick up and She wasn't sure why. I left it alone and went home. I called back today, December 20, just to make sure that my disposable camera was sent out for development. I asked them if they misplaced my camera, and Brianna said she wasn't sure. So then I asked to speak to a manager which I was put on hold for. Jessica answers while she's laughing with another coworker in the background, I wait for about 10 seconds and then she finally says HELLO. I asked if she was a manager and she said no, then I asked her to transfer me to one, she then transfers me back to Brianna. Brianna then tells me that she is the manager for this location. I let her know that I'm well aware that she is not the manager, and that she only works in the photo department. Then she says... WELL MY MANAGER ISN'T IN TODAY . So I hung up and decided to call consumer relations so that I can file a proper complaint. I understand that it's the holidays, so I was expecting there to be some form of delay if they had to send my disposable camera out for development. What I don't appreciate is being lied to. I have a customer receipt stating that if I don't pick up my pictures within 30 days from the delivery date(12/14), they would be tossing it all. I asked them how they would go about it since it's already the 20th, they're not sure where my camera is, they're not sure if it was sent outa don't why can't give me a delivery days cause there is no proof on their end(this is way at they both said) Seems like Brianna and Jessica are more concerned with hanging out with one another, and to laugh at their own ignorance. they seriously suck and should not be working in customer service at all. read more

I just changed from one bad pharmacy to this one. I told them them the exact prescriptions I needed to refill. I go in to pick the prescriptions up and they have filled everything except what I asked them for. This is so ridiculous!! The idiot clerk acted like it was my problem that the prescriptions were incorrect. After I have her a tongue lashing she fell back. Never again will I mess with this pharmacy! read more

COVID TESTING REVIEW This is not a review of an overall store experience, but I recently had a COVID test at the Broadway Walgreens and wanted to share my experience. I have weekly medical appointments and being in a hospital environment on the regular has left me feeling that I am more susceptible to the 'Delta variant' even though I am fully vaccinated. Hypochondriac? Maybe. Made an appointment online for a test, that process in very straightforward. I had the test done that needs to be sent out to the lab, not the quick results test. I pulled into the drive thru on Broadway and there were three cars in front of me. It was great that the entire line of cars was completely shaded during the time of day that I visited. I was able to turn off my car and roll down the windows to catch a bit of a breeze while I waited for my turn. Wait time was approximately 15 minutes. The gal at the drive-up window was super friendly. She asked for my ID and insurance card, gave me the test kit and told me what to do. I was familiar with the process, having had a previous kit test done at CVS. I found the process at Walgreens much easier, so that was a plus. It only took a few minutes and I was on my way. The downside is that you have to wait longer to get the results back (at Walgreens vs. CVS). And that can make one anxious, especially if you think you are exhibiting symptoms. It took approximately 52 hours to get my Walgreens test result (Negative, thank you very much!) vs. less than 24 hours with CVS testing. Walgreens sends the results via email. CVS sends a text and email. It's quicker to get an appointment at Walgreens, but you have to wait longer for the results, so it kind of evens out. I know that CVS contracts with Quest Diagnostics and has several test pickups per day. Not sure what kind of schedule Walgreens is on. Overall, a positive experience and I would certainly return when there is a need to be tested again. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a Walgreens that I could honestly rate above three stars. Two stars in this case. Here's why: Service: Don't expect to run into anyone who works there in case you have a question. You won't. They live either behind the front counter or the pharmacy counter and usually don't have the answer anyway. The pharmacists are nice enough, which is one of the few shining aspects of going here. Selection/Price: As I've noted in other Walgreens reviews, their inventory department has an uncanny ability to not stock almost anything I'm looking for. Extension chords? Nope. Christmas hats? Nope. Oversized envelopes? Nope. I can find almost anything missing here at the Target down the street, and at far cheaper. Location: The busy street corner and parking lot this store is adjacent to is always in the running for one of the worst in Sacramento. A nonsensical layout, tiny spots that even Mini Cooper owners have trouble getting into (yes, I witnessed that) and constant traffic jams out of each entrance as people wait for others to back out. If you're like me, you pick up prescriptions here because it's the closest location to you and a necessary evil. Otherwise, there are better places to grab your various sundries. read more

Hooray! They had what I needed after having a severe allergic reaction with blistering all over my paws. I'm typing out this review with ill-fitting gloves that help keep the medicine on. Pro: Same stock and layout but a little less crowded and picked over than the Walgreens on Fruitridge -- thank you. Con: I was so busy getting my supplies for my condition that I failed to notice the stalker who followed me around the store, in line and into Starbuck's and made me explain I had to get back home to my kids and husband. Came there to pick up my Tide. The FEDEx said that it was delivered to the store but the store showed that it was still in transit. I was in a pickle, but lucky for me the nice Hispanic lady at the pharmacy counter was nice enough to look thoroughly for my order and then when that came up short, offer to give me one of the Tides she found in the back. I walked away with not the one that I ordered but not having to go back again and still having laundry detergent was good enough for me. read more

This Walgreens is in a plaza along with Jamba Juice and Starbucks and often has panhandlers at its door or a bum sleeping. I just left this Walgreens about 30 minutes ago. Luckily, I don't go here very often. Today have me further reason to stay away. I walked up to register and this black woman about 46 years old, 5'11 and was cashier at the moment shows up to check me out. She begins with no hello or anything. First thing she said is " Do you want a bag" . I said yes. Next she practically started screaming at me to scan my own Walgreens card on her scanner because she couldn't be bothered to pick up the scanner. I didn't even notice the scanner because it's not facing the customers. It's facing the cashier. Then she just kept blurting out directions for the credit card reader because evidently I can't read. If I didn't know I would be on camera I would have taken my bag and knocked that bitch right across the head as hard as I could. She has no business being somewhere she has to talk to guests. She has zero customer service skills and even though Walgreens will likely just look at this review and laugh she totally needs to be fired . This Walgreens is OK. I wish they were opened a little later (I think they close at 11 or 11:30 PM). They have all the necessary over the counter drugs, beauty supplies, photo department, beauty products etc that you would want at a drug store. Seems to be not a lot of staff here and lots of merchandise on the floor that needed to be stocked. I went here to take passport photos but I didn't like the camera they used and ended up taking a new set of passport photos at another retail store. Drug stores are more pricey of course. Some employees were really nice, so I'll thrown in 2 stars. I have a wellness card, but one of the cashier charged me the regular price. I had to come back, she did it over, & ended up triple charging me!!! I didn't have time for all of that. Good thing I have a debit card app or I wouldn't of notice. Problem was later resolved, but the girl didn't even apologize. Another day my friend wanted to shop here for shaving razers, makeup, & candy. They had some sort of issue with her transaction! Ugh. So she just refunded them & went to Target instead, literally down the street, the same items there were a lot cheaper. I suggest going to Target, less of a hassle & better deals. read more

My mom tried to fill two prescriptions while vacationing to visit me in Sac. The pharmacist refused to fill one because she wanted to check with the doctor who wrote it and it was a Sunday. She filled the other. When my mom went to fill the prescription at a different pharmacy the next day, she realized that the pharmacist had given her back the prescription that she had already filled and kept the script that she refused to fill. After calling the pharmacy, my mom was first blown off and than after repeated attempts they told her that they didn't know who filled the prescription. Later they told her that the pharmacist refused to fill both prescription and gave her back both scripts. All while my mom has a filled prescription with the Walgreens address and date on it. So what I can guess from this is that either they are lying to my mom or they don't record the prescriptions they fill. read more
