In long We have a lot of appointments each week that leave me with time to spend as I choose; getting a cup of coffee in the morning and trying a new place is fun. And here I go again with more top marks after one visit. They're in one of the smaller huts and they're right next to one of the busier 2-lane stretches you can find around here. Ferry traffic and bedroom-community commuters must flood by here. I pulled in around lunchtime and they still have a customer on the other side--2 baristas, 2 windows. The kid who helped me just radiated warmth and kindness. She's a natural for talking to people. She leaned down and worked herself around in the window to make sure she was seeing and hearing me. There's only so much you can do in a coffee hut to seem super nice and thoughtful, and most people go the super-caffeinated, extra-vivacious route. I dug the change of pace here. Hippie warmth and community vibes, without all the moonbeam sparkles. Anyway, the Americano was just great. Maybe one or two ticks toward the roastier side that so many people love so much, but still in my wheelhouse. Under $5, which seems the standard. It was ready in two shakes of a lamb's tail and I was on my way down to the lighthouse to stare at the misty waters.

I was not able to get one of the angled parking slots adjacent to the cafe, but found a 4 hour spot near their conference center and fire station down the street. They definitely take full advantage of the amazing waterway view on their multilevel terrace with various plantings and whimsical wood carved fixtures. The cafe has a variety of both outdoor and indoor seating. Welcoming counter service. There's breakfast and lunch menu items, baked goods, and coffee/tea service. I decided to hang out onsite with the warmed, tasty vanilla scone and well crafted, spring inspired 12oz mocha. A few folks were on laptops, rest were there for lunch and lively convo. It was also good to see upbeat camaraderie among the cafe staff. Always a treat to stop by an indie cafe that provides pleasant service, decent food/bev selections, seating for lingering, and an amazing view!

The only big downside for me is that there isn't any comfortable seating. This is definitely a place that you could come work, or talk with a friend. But, if you want to sit and read for a while, it might not be very comfortable. There are hard chairs and benches. Then there was one stuffed dining chair but it was not very comfortable. There is outside seating that has a nice atmosphere where you can't really see the street at all. We had iced lattes, which were pretty good. They have almond milk. Our drinks were made pretty quickly. There was one person that ordered ahead of us and we got our drinks in about 5 minutes.

I've been wanting to try their chocolate chip cookie but it's never ready when I've gone. Their burrito is delicious though, it's packed and super filling, not to mention the sauces are the best part! I wish they gave a little more as I end up finishing the sauces before the burrito is done because they're sooo tasty with the burrito. I also wish they had other meat options other than bacon. They don't have chicken add ins but other than that it's a great place! I've also had their biscuit and jam, but that's just ok. I wouldn't get it again. It's not that tasty or memorable. There's lots of seating, food is ready fairly quickly, service is great and employees are friendly, and parking right outside. So convenient!

However, and I'd like to share my feedback on my experiences. - The food is decent, though it's often prepared for presentation rather than taste. It frequently arrives cold. - The coffee and tea are overpriced and tastes mediocre. - for instance, I paid $8 for a 4-ounce mix of espresso and orange juice that made my stomach hurt. - I also paid nearly $7 for the "peach blossom tea" and ended up getting 3/4 cup of ice, packet tea, and sweetener in a cup. - I've tried nearly everything on the drink menu and nothing is 'great' - The wait time for an order is incredibly long, and the employees are often distracted and preoccupied with other tasks, making it difficult to get my order taken. Overall, go to narrative for the ambiance and food, NOT the drinks.
