The default vanilla latte isn't overly sweet, which is good. The regular latte is pretty well pulled. Not over extracted, but a little too much milk for my preference. My wife had an English muffin with an egg. It tasted as good as a 2 ingredient dish could taste. Or at least those 2 ingredients. My raspberry crumble was also good, but could have used more raspberry. I prefer to taste the raspberry as the predominant flavor and in this bar it was a bit masked by the crumble. Still enjoyable though. It's a bit tight inside and typical of an independent coffee shop. Wooden floors and something to look at wherever you turn. Definitely a decent place to grab a cup of coffee if you are in old town. We haven't been here in the evening, it they do have a decent beer list for later in the day.

We usually stop by every other week as my kids and husband are getting their haircut at the old town man cave. It is definitely a staple in old town, Manassas. The service is always amazing. The staff is always so nice and so kind and considerate. I enjoy going in there and getting a chance to talk to them and everything too. The ambience is amazing because it's decorated with local artists and letting them sell their designs in the shop. It's the perfect little hometown right here in old town.

After parking around the corner and figuring out the correct sidewalk, I was amazed at how spacious Jirani is with plenty options for gathering, including outside tables, shared lobby spaces, and tucked-away booths in the back. Even though we chatted a while before ordering, no one pressured us to buy something in order to stay. I decided to try a hot chai with oat milk and a cinnamon scone. Both were quite delicious, and they even offered to warm the pastry for me. The chai had a lot of flavor and paired very well with the cinnamon. We ended up staying there for a couple hours, and the back booth was perfect to spread out for our planning session. I wouldn't hesitate to return here the next time I need to be in the area. It's perfect to grab a bite and get things done solo or with a group!

My issue is the food. It's just not very good. Drinks are inconsistent. The kids behind the counter are fine but really have minimal social skills. And the meals, whether it's an egg sandwich or a bagel with cream cheese, are tasteless. There's no pizazz. Nothing that makes me want to go there for breakfast. It also takes a long time to get your food.

The owner is from Colombia, and there's a beautiful portrait in the shop representing coffee from her family's farms, which adds such a personal and meaningful touch. This place is as charming as it gets--cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. Great coffee, delicious sweets, and a solid selection of sandwiches. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Baristas acknowledged our presence and continued making coffees for others, even though there were multiple baristas. I've been to several cafes that were much more overcrowded and have never waited so long just to be acknowledged, so this could've possibly been an understaffing problem or a task delegation problem, but regardless, it felt very uncomfortable to be waiting in line with several others just watching the baristas take care of other customers. Might have better luck ordering online for pickup even when sitting inside. Coffee was good, and their selection of drinks (alcoholic drinks , coffees, teas) is broad. Cheese danish was crispy, although cold despite my request for it to be heated up, and something about the cheese filling felt off. Likely wouldn't order again, but I'd definitely like to try some of their other pastries.

This was our final visit to The Omelette Cafe…read more The food itself was fine, but unfortunately everything else about the experience was bad enough that I will never return. I also do not want a response from the owner or management. I genuinely wish this small local business well, but I can no longer justify giving it another chance. During our previous visits, we already felt the value compared to the pricing was becoming questionable, but we wanted the restaurant to succeed. Today sealed the deal. When we arrived, only about 4 or 5 of the roughly 12 tables were occupied, with two waiters working the dining room. Most of the empty tables were dirty, many still covered with dishes from previous customers. The floor throughout the dining room was dirty and covered with debris. One waiter asked how many were in our party and directed us to a table. He sprayed and wiped only half the table with Windex. The other half, where the condiments were sitting, remained dirty. A few minutes after sitting down, I unfortunately put my finger directly into old sticky syrup that had clearly not been cleaned. The waiter took our order fairly quickly, but then poured cream directly into our coffees instead of letting us add it ourselves. Mine ended up with far too much cream. While waiting to use the restroom, I had a clear view into the kitchen area and noticed the kitchen floor appeared just as dirty as the dining room floor. What stood out most was that neither waiter seemed aware of or concerned about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. There was no sense of urgency or attention to the condition of the dining room. After waiting several minutes for the men's restroom, one waiter told me to go ahead and use the women's restroom instead. The restroom itself seemed reasonably clean, but the paper towel dispenser was broken, and a loose roll of paper towels was sitting on top of the toilet, damp from previous use. When we were ready to leave, one waiter asked how the service was. At that point, I simply wanted to leave as quickly as possible, so I said it was fine. He then left the payment machine at the table for me to run my own card, and even the machine itself was damp and unclean. Overall, the entire restaurant felt sticky, dirty, and poorly maintained. The tables were not being properly cleaned, the floors were sticky throughout the restaurant, and the overall lack of cleanliness completely overshadowed the meal itself. I truly wish this business success, but after three visits, I will not be returning.

An assortment of flavors, from red velvet and sourdough, to cream filled. It was this latter where Texas stands out: they can fill it with a variety of fillings using a machine on every stoners wish list: it injects the donut with flavors. I got two chocolate glazed filled with Bavarian, and whitw creme, and a long john of Bavarian. The cream fillings were great, no trouble there. The donuts were.. different. Donuts have that progression, from air filled Krispy Kreme, to dense cake donuts, and used hockey pucks left over from 1987 Duncan Donuts. I like the airy kind, not so much as Krispy because that's too thin, but something with heft, but air pockets. Texas rides the line between pockets of air and density, and what it tasted like is that they had been airy at one point, but those pockets collapsed on themselves creating a hybrid airy/dense donut. Tasty, but not top of my list. That spot still belongs to Duck Donuts. It's possible the Texas donuts I had were sitting out a bit, or the creme filling caused a collapse of the internal donut structure. I'm not sure but I will go back to try the denser varieties to be sure. Very nice employees, calm and clean interior. Parking is tough, on a hill in tight spots, or down around the hill and climb some stairs.
