Texas rides the line between pockets of air and density, and what it tasted like is that they had been airy at one point, but those pockets collapsed on themselves creating a hybrid airy/dense donut. Tasty, but not top of my list. That spot still belongs to Duck Donuts. It's possible the Texas donuts I had were sitting out a bit, or the creme filling caused a collapse of the internal donut structure.
