Awesome place! Found it when I first moved here looking for local coffee shops…read more The coffee is great with many options, the fun ones/my faves being the culture coffee! They also rotate flavors through different seasons- I loved when they had the ube latte. The food is yummy; I liked the baja breakfast burrito & their baked goods are amazing! The atmosphere is unique with a rain forest type theme. I liked working in there though space is limited during the weekend.

I really enjoyed my drink. It was sweet but not too sweet. And the coffee was nice and not bitter. My fiancé got the tres leches and that was also very good. It was sweet and creamy. The coffee cake we got was just ok. It was kind of bland with hints of cinnamon. And it was a little dense. It was the only pastry that was there. I'm not sure if it was because we got there around 12, or if they just don't have other pastries regularly. It was also a lot more expensive than other coffee shops in the area. If we are back in the area we will definitely come back for the coffee and vibes. The inside is beautiful and a really chill place. It was clean inside and the couches were comfy. I also liked that the baristas knew the locals that came in. That welcoming feeling makes all the difference.

I gave it four stars because it was pretty chilly in there. That could've been because of the cold temperatures and older building. We would definitely go back.

Then, we took the scenic way back on the eastern shore of VA and stayed at Cape Charles Motel just outside Cape Charles, VA on US 13. The next morning we checked out of the motel. I was annoyed the night before as I had thought there was some sort of breakfast included when I was asking about the times of the breakfast, and he said they didn't have there. So, we ventured into town for Cape Charles Coffee House. It's a cute, historic place with an upstairs area with additional seating. The brunch & coffee was solid & nice staff, but I do remember it took awhile to get the food. Perhaps, they were on Cape Charles time as opposed to DC-Baltimore area time I'm used to...haha. I had a grilled cheese & cup of soup. It was delicious. Cape Charles Coffee House & the town itself was nice; I'd come back to the coffee house if I was back.

If you can't finish your drink, they have this cool contraption of a paper to-go cup that you can request! The seating area was dimly list and plenty of tables; the only off-putting thing was that it smelled like urine; not sure if they need to do a deep-clean of the carpet? Staff were friendly, and the place seems pretty popular with the locals. Loved their various decor and signages, as they were fun to check out! This distinctively…read moreshaped building has been turned into a reading room, children's play area, and cafe, which the community could really use. Food options are basic, but they have made a choice to carry some packaged gluten-free goods and some milk alternatives, so most diets can be accommodated. I got an iced matcha, which was straightforward and not overly sweet. Getting a waffle seemed the freshest option, and it was a sugary, tasty waffle with a few topping options, of which I picked a drizzle of maple syrup. Neither item was very large, but the price was right. It's a distinctive atmosphere, and you can see that this place is trying to bring something new to the area. It's not the kind of stuff you'd get at a high-end urban cafe, but it worked for me on the day.
