Dirty coffee machines. The breakfast was the worst I've ever tasted. However, the two workers were outstanding. Great customer service!

The service here isn't great at all. I wouldn't come here again. Only one person working.

As before, I give this a resounding 5 stars. The menu has changed a little bit since I last wrote a review, and I've tried some new items. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. My new go-tos are the raging chicken salad on a croissant and the berries and cream pastries. If you read my previous review, you will see that I was working up the nerve to try the chicken salad, because I'm somewhat meat-averse at times, and also don't like heavily mayonnaised foods, which is a big risk with any of the so-called "salad" items (potato, chicken, tuna, etc.) in life. I can now confirm that the chicken salad is 1) not overly mayonnaised and 2) made from not-gross chicken (I have no further explanation for this, but picky eaters will know what I mean). It's relatively light, has a nice texture, and is flavorful. It is one of my favorite weekend lunch items (or weekday, if I'm working remotely and in the area) now, not just here but in general. The berries and cream pastry is delicious and I would eat everyday, or even multiple times a day, if my figure and my wallet could afford it. Sweet, rich, flaky. Definitely one of my favorite dessert / sweet snack items currently. I also got a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious, obviously). Very well executed and totally got my vision. As I said before, there is plenty of seating inside (outside too!) and the volume level is perfect -- lots of people coming through, but quiet enough I can read, study, or do work. We spend several hours at a time in here some weekends. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

Or if you are hungrier, consider one of their salad or sandwich options. I ordered an iced Irish Moo latte with oat milk from their featured menu and was not disappointed. If you are unsure what to order, ask the barista for a recommendation; you will not be disappointed. While you wait for your order, I highly recommend browsing the gift shop. I've since moved to Greensboro, so it's been a while, but as soon as I walked through the door and caught a whiff of coffee and their delicious baked goods, I was reminded why this was my favorite coffee shop in HP. Debeen Espresso is a charming, female-owned local gem that combines the art of great coffee with delicious, in-house gluten free and vegan baked goods. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere and warm smiles from the baristas set the tone for a great experience. I had the pleasure of trying their banana walnut muffin, and let me just say--it was the moistest muffin I've ever tasted. The balance of banana, walnut, and spice was perfect, and it paired wonderfully with my almond milk latte. There's an array of gluten free and vegan muffin and cookie options as well as additional treats (overnight oats, carrots and hummus, etc) in the fridge. It's clear that Debeen Espresso takes pride in not just the quality of their coffee, but in everything they do. The service was fast and friendly and the shop itself is cozy, with plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out. We opted to sit on the outdoor patio, where additional seating provides a chance to enjoy the fresh air while sipping your favorite drink. Adjacent to Debeen is Pure Light Yoga, creating the perfect opportunity to sip, savor, and even savasana--all in one visit. Whether you're there for a quiet moment away or catching up with a friend, Debeen Espresso offers a unique and relaxing space where you can really enjoy your experience. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this cozy spot with its delicious drinks, healthy treats and welcoming vibe.

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.
