While I was working in Ewa Beach the other day, on my way back into town, I decide to stop by Scoopers Kitchen but when I got there, they had this big sign that said - "SOLD OUT". Okay, strike one! I then jumped back into my car & drove further down the road to K's Bento-Ya. As I was about to pull into their little parking lot, I saw that they also sold out & put up the closed sign. Okay, strike two! Tanioka's is just just across the street from K's Bento-ya, but as luck would have it, Tanioka's is closed on Monday & Tuesday. Are ya kiddin' me??? Do ya think it's strike three??? Hell to da no!!! And why do I say this? Cuz 7-Eleven in Waipahu is just next door to Tanioka's! WINNING!!! For all you folks dat know Bruddah Fran, when he walks into a 7-Eleven, garans you know what he's here for.........da Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious Garlic Chicken Musubi!!! Yup! Yup! I went straight to da back refrigerator case & spotted my beloved Garlic Chicken Musubi! Popped my Garlic Chicken Musubi into 7-Eleven's microwave for 75 seconds & wallah!!! Sustenance City Baby!!! After takin' out my Garlic Chicken Musubi from da micro when it was done, paid for my musubi wid' hard cold cash at da counter, and out da door I went! Not the cleanest of 7-11s that I've been to. Stopped in for a slurpee but all six machines were out of order.

What a great place to stop by and get some fast food! The 7/11 have fresh hot food to go and the dim sum was delicious! The pork hash's are my personal favorite. The ambiance is like any 7/11 but more clean. The service was also fast. Definitely go to a 7/11 in Hawaii for some fast food. read more

A week late review but the fat manager needs to work on her customer service. She went off on my husband for buying a hot item with my son's EBT card. She even went as low as telling my husband to know what he's applying for and their policies. Mind you, it's the kids summer EBT for free and reduced lunch kids. We didn't apply for the food stamps assistance but she assumed we did. As a manager, you should be able to control your temper. Was it that hard to explain nicely? And why assume? She gave him a bad start that morning before he went to work. She needs to go back to training or something cause how is she a manager? read more

Why is this the only 7-11 that doesn't accept EBT for hot foods? They said it's what their manager says, but why do other 7-11's accept? Why is it only this store that make us grab the cold foods then microwave it ourselves? Isn't it the same barcode? They just microwave it? What difference does it make? They said it's not allowed for EBT, but why when it's the same item? Also, There was a guy who looked lost or looks as if he doesn't want to be there. I read other reviews before I wrote this and one thing we have in common is the store manager. I always stopped by at this store to buy my lunch, but one thing caught my attention all the time is the store manager--the big lady wearing black polo. I always notice her that she always stocking the shelves during peak hour, which is nice but can she even helped her employees because people are piling up. I mean lunch time, and there is a long line and yet she still doing her stuff. Take note, the store had three registers. Why she can't use it?Yet, there's only two employees ringing up all the times which are the lady with a braids on and a teenager boy. Luckily, both of them are nice and apologetic. Take note both of them are counting their register because they're closing their shift and helping the customer at the same time. They can do faster if the manager will help them, but instead she keeps shouting and rushing her employees as if she is the one paying them. And also can you work with your terminal for the card and mobile payment because it took so long. Crimineria the cashier still works here and is still so very rude. She ignored my request for something from the hot food & for bags three times. I asked my brother to request it and she still ignored us. Then she rushed us out like it was our fault the line had then gotten long, but she ignored our request for bags. Very rude for no reason. They are always stocked but Crimineria makes the place a terrible store to visit. Just a heads up! I don't think management will do anything about it because it must be hard to fill the position, which is no one's fault. This review is for the 7 eleven in Waipahu directly next to Taniokas in Waipahu. Parking is very tight here due to the crowds that Tanioka. Rings in. Big 7 eleven store with loads of selections!! Very friendly staff here and sometimes security helps out with the crowds of people trying to snag a prime parking stall They do have some undesirables (bums homeless chronics etc) who hang out and chill around here so just be aware lol read more

Home of the Big Gulp. I don't go to this 7-eleven very often. If you judge a book by its cover, the outside of this place would look abandoned or should be raided by the police. The outside of the store look filthy and there is the local bum there. Don't be fooled, this guy has money after seeing him pull a wad of cash from his pocket to pay for cigarettes. And I bought that guy a spam musubi a couple of days ago. Anyway you can feel safe to park really quick since they have a security guard. He/she also directs traffic when there's a congestion. And since it located on a corner next to the Kamehameha street entrance traffic gets tight. Inside, it's brightly lit and full shelves. See don't judge a book by its cover. There's the occasional stack of empty boxes in the corner when they fill the shelves. Other then that this place is clean. It's also seems this store is getting more health conscious. There is a whole fridge section dedicated to whole and cut up fruits. And the same can be said about sandwiches and ready to heat hot meals. Of course, you still can get your junk food but now it seems you have less options to feel guilty that you cheated on your health. Other than that, it's a good place to grab something quick and go. Overall three stars. Average on prices and selection. And that bum that just takes advantage of kindness really brings the place down. Don't just a book by it cover. This is a convenient convenience store--You don't say! It is a good place to run in for a quick snack, a slurpee, or some other convenience item. It has a gas station attached, which is quite convenient. I'm giving it four instead of five stars because it can sometimes seem a bit sketchy, with sketchy folks about. There's always a variety of selections when coming in the morning, heard that's when they restock. But coming in the evening is a different story. Sometimes, they're out of everything. I came in couple times and they were out of manapuas and pork hash. Most of the workers are friendly/nice. Some do like to yell and play around. But their manager here seems so bossy because she can and she's the manager. She doesn't even smile. She speaks rudely to some of her workers while they're behind the counter. One time around 9AM, I was about to checkout and she was yelling at someone because somebody left an empty ketchup packet in the back. A middle aged lady was ringing my items up and she even heard me say what the heck because what the heck right? She even apologized to me for hearing that. That's not a way to talk to someone, and it was her workers fault for not throwing the rubbish away, but she also could've just thrown it away herself and talked calmly instead of yelling where all customers can hear. she's also always scolding at an older lady who works there for "not doing her job properly." She speaks in filipino to the lady and some of her workers but I understood. I come here almost everyday to buy an energy drink and sometimes coffee with something fast to eat because I live nearby so my review is valid. For some reason, this was the messiest location I'd been to. I grew up going to this location, and so when I come back home this is the one I would still go to. But after the last visit I really haven't been back. The drink area was really messy with spills. It's gotten very crowded as well. Sometimes you can't get a parking, and the traffic in that parking lot is terrible, not matter what time of day you go. read more

For those who know me, I love my 7-11s. They are convenient and usually have a good deal on my energy drinks (better than the big chain stores). This one is located in Waipahu next to Tanioka's. Parking is tough during the day as everyone is running to Tanioka's. In the evening, there is a ton of parking available. The location itself is similar to other 7-11s. It's a bit on the older side, but is usually well-stocked. My one complaint is the workers. As I was waiting to pay for my soda, several of the workers were having a discussion in what I believe was Tagalog. Typically most of other 7-11s, the workers will stop for a bit and speak in English to you. Not this one. They just keep talking in their dialect and laughing away despite me being at the register. The cashier dropped my change on the counter, said "sorry" and just went back to her conversation. Very disappointing :( read more

Free slurpee day!! LOL Not at this 7 eleven. Slurpee mess all over the floor the floor was completely sticky, no one was bothering to clean it up. There were no covers for the free slurpee size so my bf went ahead and asked one of the guy workers and he just ignored us and looked away? Then the older Filipino lady was bitching in Filipino about the mess and how there's too many cups out for the free slurpees haha & then threw the cups on the ground..ok. Walked out with no free slurpee. It's okay though. Super rude workers. If you're gonna complain about your customers do it in the back lol read more

Just went to the 7-11 by Tanioka's today in Waipahu. I haven't been to other 7-11s recently but this one is definitely starting to crack down on people filling up their hydroflasks with ice. They have a big sign right on the front about not filling up the flasks and using their cups instead for 41¢ (including tax). My plan today was to buy a Double Gulp cup with ice and water, for myself, and then fill up a flimsy water bottle with just water from their fountain machine, for my son. As a courtesy, I asked the cashier if I could do that and she tells me "it'll be 41¢." For 16.9 ounces of water. So then I ended up taking two Double Gulps with ice and water, I was going to just transfer water into the bottle. 82¢ for two Double Gulp cups that are non recyclable (not for the blue bin). I can understand the ice. Since a lot of people are starting to fill their flasks with just ice. But 16.9 ounces of water?? Is water not free anymore? I would have given this review 4 stars but I forgot to mention how the cashier, after I started filling the two Double Gulps with ice and water, and then proceeded to the counter where she rang up my purchase, kept staring at the water bottle that I had tucked under my arm. She made it so obvious that she was doing this and made me feel like she suspected me of being a criminal. Stealing 41¢ worth of water. read more
