Well, this morning's "shopping" experience was interesting, at best.
I walked from home to this location, which I have never visited...because it looks dirty outside, and sometimes has loitering questionable individuals outside. Not my idea of a great place.
I entered the store to initially only buy a pack of cigarettes (nasty, I know....hold your judgment). I only had a certain amount of cash on me, and was happy to see a sign above my brand that read "$4.something". I decided I could afford a coffee as well.
So, I went back to grab a coffee before my final purchase. The rotund woman, who is evidently the manager. followed me and began to fidget with the *absolutely filthy* coffee station. I exchanged a quick greeting with her, and unfortunately, she was already rude.
I meandered my way back to the register and waited for probably two minutes for her to return (maybe she was cleaning the filthy station, I don't know, but her motives seemed off). I asked for my pack, and she rang me up. Lo and behold, the purchase ended up being $2.00 more than I had on me. I decided to ix-nay the coffee, as I'd likely get norovirus or some such malady from it anyway.
This is where things get hairy:
This chick decided that since I wasn't able to purchase the coffee (likely costed at no more than a dime), I wasn't allowed to purchase my cigarettes either. She very rudely pointed to gnarled, super fine print (and forgive me, but I didn't have my glasses either, as I was out for a walk) that read n entirely different set of pricing than the large display. Okey-dokey.....so I asked for a manager or when the owner might be present. She looked at me and mustered as much attitude as she possibly could to inform me that *SHE* was the manager. Great, so when is the owner present? Yep, you better believe that this chick tried to tell me that there ws no owner.
I called the store a bit later, and she told me first that the owner was on vacation out of town, and when I asked when they would return, she told me 3am on Friday. Right. So the owner is only available to chat at 3am on a Friday after being on vacation.
So, not only did this chick make the absolutely brainless decision to deny me a purchase where the profit for her little shanty there that she "manages" is much greater than a cup of unsanitary coffee, but then she decides to blatantly lie to a customer. I am super sorry that your job sucks, lady.....but that's no reason to treat people like crap because of misleading signage.
It's cool, because I walked across to the Mobil station where I was able to successfully, and for less money, make my purchase.
If you need a 7-11, drive a little further up Soledad to Sand Canyon. That location is clean, and the employees are super sweet. Avoid the location at Soledad and Sierra Hwy at any cost. Had I been driving, I certainly would have done so.
Please feel free to retort, if you are the owner. There's really nothing that can be said for your "manager" and the unsightly condition of your location, but you can try. read more
