Good basic 7-Eleven. Never had a problem there and I stop by for gas and other things pretty often.

Wake & Take Coffee and Tea sits in Aurora, which for me already made it feel like a field trip. I…read moreknow. Aurora. So brave of me. But when you spend too much time in the bubble of Cherry Creek, even crossing Colorado Blvd can feel like travel. This happened to be stop two on a first date that neither of us seemed to want to end. A coffee shop can be perfectly nice and still be forgettable. But a place that gives two people permission to keep lingering, keep talking, and keep pretending they are only having tea when something else is clearly happening? That is special. We sat upstairs on the couch next to a group passing the evening with cards, conversation, and laughter. They had the easy comfort of people who knew how to spend time together without performing it. That gave the room a heartbeat. And this happened to be a Sunday night. Full house. People were enjoying their drinks, pastries, games, conversations, and whatever private reasons had brought them there. Somewhere in all of that, a kiss happened. In public. Gasp. I am not saying the tea caused anything. I am saying the tea was present. Inside, the place has more personality than I expected. High ceilings, exposed ducts, bright pastry cases, a white piano near the front window, shelves of tea, little decorative touches, and enough visual stimulus to feel human without tipping into clutter. It has that slightly odd, lived-in charm that cannot be engineered by a branding consultant. I went back for a second visit and ordered the Joint Health tea, because apparently I am now the kind of man who sees those words and thinks, yes, let us address those knees. Any elixir that claims to hold off the slow collapse of the body has my attention. The tea arrived in a clear glass pot, with a little fake candle situation on the table and a glass mug. You can see the herbs and leaves sitting in the infuser like they are getting ready to magically cure the aches. Maybe they work. Maybe they are just hot shrubbery. Either way, I felt grand. Not healed, necessarily. But grand. The flavor was aromatic and herbaceous without turning floral, which I appreciated. I like a tea that tastes like it came from leaves and roots, not from someone's grandmother's potpourri stash. It was mellow, warming, and not medicinal. That is a small miracle for anything with "Joint Health" in the name. That is part of Wake & Take's charm. It makes tea feel ceremonial without making it precious. You are not just drinking something warm. You are participating in a small ritual. A brief illusion of wellness. A little pot of optimism. And then, inevitably, we must discuss the bathroom. The bathrooms are clean, which I appreciate. But accessing them requires a level of security usually reserved for state secrets. They are locked. There is no code. You must ask to be let in with a key fob, which will not be entrusted to you under any circumstances. The fob remains with the authorities. Fort Knox of bathrooms? Maybe. Mild paranoia? Also possible. Either way, plan ahead. Because if you order a whole pot of Joint Health tea, whatever does not go to the joints is going elsewhere. Coffee, tea, desserts, savory options, upstairs seating, downstairs bustle, people lingering, people laughing. Nothing about it felt sterile or homogenized. Nothing felt overly polished. It felt like a place with its own unique story, and you either enter that story or you don't. I'm glad I did. Wake & Take is not just a coffee bar with tea and pastries. It is a little reminder that the city is bigger than your habits. People gather here. Dates stretch past their scheduled ending. Tea gets theatrical. Joints receive superficial support. And the bathrooms operate under a strict chain of command. Honestly, I respect the whole quirky ecosystem. I'll be back.

Wake & Take opened in 2020 and was built to be more than that a café with a European feel that doubles as a true community space. And honestly, that's exactly how it comes across when you're there. The coffee is so good. Smooth, rich, and consistent every time. It's the kind of place where you stop mid-sip and go "okay yeah... this is it." And the treats? Just as strong. Everything tastes fresh, not overly sweet, and actually complements the coffee instead of overpowering it. You can tell there's real intention behind what they're serving. What really makes it stand out though is the vibe. It's warm, a little lively, and feels like a place people actually gather not just grab and go. Unless you want. Whether you're meeting someone, working, or just hanging out, it fits. This is one of those places that turns into a regular without you even realizing it. The extended hours are a plus.

There are large tables for groups to come together socially or for business. They offer free Wi-Fi. The seating in the back is very private. They played relaxing and calming music that was a pleasure to listen to while drinking delicious coffee and sitting in comfort. Hannah was our barista, and she was lovely! She is a kind and friendly person who took the time to explain how to make reservations for the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony that can be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays. The Yirgacheffe coffee was incredible, so smooth! It is from Ethiopia--the birthplace of coffee. The food menu is vegetarian (no meat served) The noise level was perfect, indoor seating is plentiful (no outdoor seating), and parking is plentiful in the lot in front. In the restroom, the toilet was a bidet. I wish the menu were in a larger font to make it easier to read. I feel coffee shops in general need ample storage to keep supplies and clutter out of sight of customers.

The cashier was attentive and super friendly. I enjoyed the brief interaction before a line formed behind us. Even with a number of people waiting everyone remained calm and hustled. Located in a strip mall off Hamden and S Tower, the shop is easy to spot from the road and features ample parking. Upon entering, the space is splashed with bright colors, a greenery wall, plenty of seating and gives off an overall colorful, fun vibe. I visited around 3pm and it was DEAD inside, in that the only worker was sitting around waiting for me! ha! It's an order and pay at the kiosk and wait for pick up kind of joint, which was quick and easy - considering I was the only one there. I opted for a medium Vietnamese Coffee ($4) with the option to add on a million other thing - boba, caramel drizzle, sweetener, extra ice, the list goes on. The menu items offer a massive menu - everything from shaken teas, to blended teas, special spring flavors and fun milk teas. Just about everything looked good to me and I can't wait to try more of the menu. Within minutes my coffee was ready, and the first sip was perfection. Strong, creamy and just the right amount of sweetness ( I chose the 70% sweetness option) - I could have easily gotten a large, and next time I will! The sweet woman behind the counter was so friendly, welcoming and whipped up a delicious drink made with love. When in the area, I will easily return
