We had a very unpleasant experience at this 7-Eleven late at night.
When we arrived, a customer before us was repeatedly going back and forth to the counter picking more items before finally being asked to pay. After her purchase was packed, we placed our items on the counter to be checked out.
While the cashier was scanning, I noticed that he charged us twice for the same bottled water. I politely told him, "Our water is only one, please remove the other one." To my surprise, instead of correcting just that one item, he voided the entire transaction, scanned only the water, and then just stared at us in silence for several seconds. It was very awkward. I had to clarify and say, "We're taking all the other items too," while pointing at them before he finally moved and scanned everything properly.
When the total was shown, my partner took out cash to pay. The cashier rushed and grabbed the bill directly from my partner's hand, and when giving the change, he practically shoved it back at us.
Overall, the service felt rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional. This was not the first unpleasant experience we've had in a Hong Kong 7-Eleven, which makes us wonder--are all 7-Eleven cashiers here lacking basic manners? read more
