UPDATE: I am updating my rating to 3 stars purely based on how management handled my situation…read more Shortly after my initial negative experience, Amar reached out to me directly. He was highly professional, apologized for the unacceptable service, assured me he had spoken to the staff so it wouldn't happen again, and went out of his way to completely cover the cost of my order. It takes a lot for a business to own their mistakes and make it right, and I really appreciate that ownership actually cares about their customers. ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE: Do not order delivery directly from their website. I originally placed an order online for a couple beers and two bottles of liquor, and despite living only 2.8 miles away, I was called by an employee named Angelo who told me it would take 4 hours to deliver. When I expressed frustration, he offered zero compensation or alternative solutions. He claimed there was "no manager" to speak to, and told me to just go use DoorDash or Grubhub instead because nobody wanted to drive a moped less than 3 miles. It is incredibly frustrating when a business takes your money for an advertised service, refuses to fulfill it, and then tells you to go pay extra fees on a third-party app. Overall, I'm giving 3 stars because Amar's excellent response and accountability balanced out Angelo's initial terrible service.

So why'd I go, eh? This is almost too revealing but here's the truth: I was stuck in the stairway of a nearby apartment building when someone came down and told me how to get out. Once out, I was grateful, following my savior here, to a place at which she is a regular. I stayed for 1 drink, catching about every 4th word she said. Suffice to say, Wolf & Crane Bar - on Little Tokyo's edge - is a perfectly fine bar if you're young, like whiskey, and loud spaces. I probably checked all those boxes at one time in my life but not any longer. I walked by Wolf & Crane Bar multiple times over the next several days without the slightest desire to return. That doesn't mean it was bad at all; just that it wasn't for me. (P.S. They do have a full bar here, but their specialty is whiskey).

Positives: Nice staff, good food and big space. In addition to the b'ness event, we watched the opening game of the NFL season. The TV was large and fairly clear; Negatives: Beer only. IDK about you, but as I've become older, I can't drink as much beer. Its so filling and it makes me pee a lot. It would be nice if they had a full bar; Street parking only altho there is no charge. It seemed like all the spots on the street BB is located on were taken. Not sure how much parking is on the adjacent busier streets; If I were in the area I would return. However, I would start the evening at BB, not end the evening. I like to have hard liquor when I drink. It doesn't make me run to the mens room as much vs beer, and it is less filling.

The music was bumpin', the energy was up, but it still had this cozy, intimate feel. Perfect combo. My boyfriend and I both got the Paloma and we snagged a spot in the back to catch the DJ doing his thing. Our table was a little wobbly and my cocktail tipped! I come there to work from my iPad frequently and one day, I needed to take a ZOOM call. The ONE umbrella was taken so I pulled a chair over into a shaded area. The security guard came over to tell me that I was not allowed to pull a chair into the area and that I had to put it back. He did this as my ZOOM call was starting so I hurriedly got up to move and my iPad fell and cracked. I stopped coming as much for awhile because I have seen other people move their chairs to find more shade in the past. Well PLEASE explain why I am here right now and this Asian man is not only allowed to move one chair into that same area but they HELPED him move several chairs and a TABLE to sit in the area that I was asked to move from. I have seen him here on several occasions and maybe he has closer ties? Who knows? What I do know is that what is good for the goose should be good enough for the gander. So if this area is prohibited to sit in, that should be applied to EVERYONE. And then when I tried to address with the woman who works in the office, she snapped at me after I asked if I could ask her a question. Her exact words: "About WHAT??" Once she led with that energy, I asked was she an employee (I have already been told in the past that she is) and she replied, "No, I don't work here." SO i left her alone even after she tried to clean it up by asking if I wanted to speak with the other security guards. I walked away and sat down to write this. But I also asked the security guard (DAVID) who originally told me that I could not pull a chair into the area why it was okay for the person that is sitting there now and he told me that it is because they are employees. He told ME that that are could not be blocked by the ONE chair that I pulled over into a CORNER but they have a whole table and several chairs set up as I type this. The woman who swears she is not an employee (SHE IS) came over to me trying to ask what I needed and I told her I was good and that I was leaving. She said, "Well you're complaining so..." and I cut her right TF off and told her that I was not COMPLAINING; I was asking a VALID question. She then starts talking sh*t telling me that I come there all the time to sit in the courtyard while purchasing nothing. MIND YOU, the local businesses at this location know me by name and/or face (Escala, Silverlake Ramen, Cap't Loui, Starbucks, etc...). This is also a place where transient/unhoused individuals come all the time to sit and rest so imagine saying something so insensitive not knowing what the situation may be. It is a public area and nobody is OBLIGATED to purchase anything. But I DO on a WEEKLY basis so perhaps Miss Girl can get her facts straight. But it's okay. I will be contacting management asap.
