To their credit, Lisa Naeyaert (the make up portion of the partnership) did email me to better understand what went awry stating: "We aren't a high pressure sales business, so we don't hound girls after we provide the rates, as we realize this is a luxury business providing optional services. I sincerely apologize if you feel this was a slight in any way." I appreciate anyone who takes the time, especially when it's the electronic customer service bell of YelpLand. First, the shoot: I was a nervous wreck. I'm not a model, so I wasn't really sure what I needed to do once I showed up. I'm was nervous the night before, nervous driving over, nervous walking up the sidewalk. But *the* second that I walked in the door and Lisa and Gayla introduced themselves, I felt like I was in the company of good friends. They were so relaxed, so fun, so friendly. Lisa started on my makeup right away, and I wish I could have been a fly on the wall with a video camera, capturing every brushstroke she made for future study. She was thoughtful and careful, working her magic delicately and precisely. When she handed me a mirror to check things out, I looked like a me I had never seen before. She rocked it! Then Gayla turned on the lights and we got started with the actual shoot. It was so quick and painless, I can barely remember going through it. Knowing I'm no model, Gayla was so nice to direct me and encourage me every step of the way. She made me feel so comfortable just hanging around in my unmentionables. She doesn't just stand in one spot with the camera and shoot either; she was all over the place, standing, squatting, even laying on the floor to get the right shot. The photos: Then the photos showed up in my inbox, and I couldn't believe my eyes. They were so much more than I was ever expecting. I wouldn't change a thing. Lisa's makeup, Gayla's artful eye, the composition, the lighting, the processing -- all work together to create incredible individual pieces of art. I'm pushing 40, so I shot with 666 Photography as a gift to myself, to be able to look back in 20 years and think "oh yeah, I was cute back then." I have had the opportunity to shoot with Gayla (photographer) and Lisa (make-up) 4-5 times already. I cannot say enough about how much talent and professionalism goes into this business. They hand make their sets which are always amazing. You know they're good if so many people are copying them. i'm a total tom-boy. people used to refer to me as "sir." seriously. so, when i finally got tired of being mistaken for a male, i sought out information as to how to be more girlie. i wanted to be girlie, finally. so i bought make-up, dresses, started growing out my hair, etc. but i still didn't feel like the christina hendricks i knew i could be. i'm also an art buyer, and always on the prowl for new-to-me artists. local is even better. combine all of these things, and i found 666 photography. stunning imagery. absolutely stunning. i can't afford the private high-concept shoots, but they offer a themed shoot from time to time that i can handle. my first shoot was hollywood vixen, or something like that. it was a shoot to mimic old hollywood glamour. wow. they dressed and fussed over me until i actually felt like a movie star. i was uncomfortable and a bit stiff in the pictures, but wow... i must say, i'm a freakin' knockout at the hands of gayla and lisa. k.o. boys! my second shoot was burlesque themed. again, wowza! i was less stiff, but still no model. i look flawless in the photos, though. i don't think i will ever be that hot again. so, i can't tell you how glad i am to have it documented on film. now, i don't use these photos for anything. i'm not posting them around, or trying to start a fan club, so i thought those two shoots made me feel girlie, sexy, super-hot and i needed to stop before my head explodes. but... a few years later they're doing a themed-shoot based on the dia de los muertos photos!!! i freaked. and signed up. and have the most beautiful, high concept, breath-taking photos to show my future grandchildren that might ever exist (for me). i can't tell you how much i love these girls and they're product. for someone like me, it's sincerely a dream come true and has changed my whole self-image. now, when someone says "excuse me, sir?" i know for damn sure they aren't talking to me!! not to mention, i'm a big social anxiety mess. having to go in without make-up and then bare my goodies to some strangers is enough to send me to a rubber room. i had THE BEST time with lisa and gayla! they are so down-to-earth and unpretentious. they're hilarious. i'm not sure i've ever felt that comfortable in my life. seriously. it's worth the money just to hang out with them. they are a freaking riot. so... if ever i can do another shoot, i certainly will. every. single. time. even in the heat of texas summer without an a/c, it's heaven. viva 666 photography!!! read more

I have been reading through some of the posts and feel like it is important to share my recent experience. Since most of these are older posts I feel like it needs to be stated that I have not experienced at all what the negative reviews have said. Maybe they have made some major changes because the turnaround and communication has been very quick. This was my first shoot and I bought a special Valentines package where you get 5 shots. I went to the studio and basically hung out for several hours. The atmosphere is very casual. I was worried that it was going to be formal and it was more like going over to a friends house to hang out while they make you over. IF your friends are amazing artists, that is. I immediately felt relaxed and was able to be myself, which I think helped me take better pictures. The make-up/hair was a little over an hour and the actually shoot was less that 30 minutes. Not gonna lie, my face was beautiful. By the end we were laughing and telling stories and I had a great time. Gayla and Lisa informed me that the edits would take about a week and then they would send a separate email that would include a link to see the entire shoot. I could choose whatever extra pictures I like for a reasonable price. The edits were finished in less than 48 hours! I was expecting to wait and was pleasantly surprised to see the pics...which were amazing! The original idea was to surprise my boyfriend but I couldn't wait and he loved them. The overall pictures were edited so well, they look like retro pin up shots. The other pictures came shortly after and then about a week and half later I got my final edits to download and send off to print. I have chosen one extra to be made and currently I am waiting but I am fine with the wait (it has only been a week) I have 5 fabulous pictures and I just have to decide how I want them printed. I have sent several emails to both Lisa and Gayla. They have been very prompt, less than 24 hours. I did send one email that took a little longer but it is understanding when it is the middle of the work week. Overall I really enjoyed my experience and feel more confident in the way I look. I would do it over and maybe in the future I will do another shoot. People are always willing to complain and not enough people share their good experiences, including me. I have been putting off this review for a while but after reading the rest of those negative reviews I couldn't help but retort. Thank for the great experience ladies! read more

I recently completed a second shoot with 666 photography. It was part of their "revenge shoot" series that they are launching- the PERFECT opportunity to get some stunning shots done that are the perfect confidence booster after a breakup. AS usual, both Lisa and Gayla responded to all my correspondence very promptly, and booking the shoot was a breeze. The actual shoot was another enormous success, i could not be happier with their work, both the makeup, photos and photo editing services. I've never felt awkward or uncomfortable during any of my shoots, and Gayla is great at directing you while she photographs away. I was now recently contacted by Lisa, the makeup artist for this duo (only after I posted a negative review on yelp did she decide to get involved.) She apparently seems to be the only one who handles this company's complaints. Lisa seemed very nice in her letter and was nice from the moment I met her so I was not surprised. She said in her email that she wanted to try and "help me get what I needed" and apologized for my "bad experience with them." She admitted she has little to do with the customer service aspect, returning emails, etc.. of their company as she mainly serves the company from an aesthetic stand point, (which I was aware of) but that she is trying to help the company improve its overall service and realizes that their company has had some "growing pains." And "is aware of their issues as a company" To me all this was very nice but seemed too little, too late. Honestly since it took posting a negative review on yelp after months of trying to contact this company to get a response from them it made me really question if contacting me was genuine in nature. Then to add to the slap in the face that this whole experience has already been Lisa from this company posted on a yelp forum asking for help about "how to get malicious reviews removed" and named my name and my review in the forum as wanting it removed. Basically what is boils down to is this company was trying to flag my negative review (and any other negative reviews) and get it removed because they didn't like that they got a bad review. To me this only makes their company seem more shady and unprofessional. Basically what they are saying by doing this is hey, we provided bad customer service now we are going to try and blame the client and get her negative review removed because we don't like it and don't want to be accountable for providing bad customer service to someone. Ever heard the saying "take your medicine" girls? Then Lisa back tracked saying "she didn't have a problem with the review" yeah..sure. If that is true why was she complaining "that her flags have been ignored"? This is a prime example of the inconsistency I have been dealing with in regard to this company. I do find it kind of ironic (and Lisa herself admitted the irony) that she was posting about her frustration of a company not responding to her and not getting any feedback from them." Hmmm, sound familiar? It's frustrating when a company ignores you isn't it? I stand by my negative review of this company and feel it is warranted. As I mentioned in my previous review their actual work is excellent but there is more to this industry than taking a good picture. I would give them 5 stars for their work but their horrible customer service is what prompted the 1 star review. I feel people who are considering giving this company their hard earned money should be aware of all those factors when making a decision to use their services. Part of being a good business is the ability to take constructive criticism when you have fallen short in service to your client and learn from it which is apparently a task that is very hard for 666 Photography to do. I can only hope their next client has a better experience than I did. As one fellow yelper stated to Lisa in response to her trying to get my review removed, "spend more time servicing your clients and following-up and less time doing damage control in places like this." I had a wonderful experience shooting with 666 however I'm giving them such a poor review due to the fact that they NEVER, even after numerous e-mail attempts, gave me my prints that were included with the cost of my shoot. One of my many hobbies is "pinup modeling" and when I came across 666 Photography's work, I nearly died of excitement. Gayla and Lisa are a dream team with an eye for everything artistically pleasing. Their talent is beyond compare. It is their said talent that keeps me coming back again and again. It is with great hesitation that I write this as I have been an admirer of 666 photography for a long time. However, when I finally set aside time and money to have a shoot the this team I was extremely disappointed for two main reasons. First was the turn around time on my photos . I did not receive my "edited" photos for nearly 6 weeks when I was promised 2-3 (as I write this I'm still waiting on a promised link to the rest, now going on 7 weeks) And I really don't know when or if I would have ever received them because they were sent only after numerous unresponded to emails. Secondly, the "edited" photos that I did receive looked like anything someone with a less then professional version of Photoshop could do. I get I'm no model, but the expectation was that it would have been somewhat consistent with that of what I came to respect of the 666 product. These look like I dressed up in someone's back yard as they just snapped some pictures. If I knew that this was the product I was going to get, I would have bought myself a new handbag and been on my merry way. My make up was awesome, though. read more

So I had a shoot last year and although I couldn't really afford the shoot I splurged because face it, I wanted to have gorgeous photos of myself. Well first off, it should be noted both Gayla and Lisa are pretty heavy smokers. They smoke while on set. When I came home, all my clothes smelled like cigarettes. Of course they didn't bother to ask if I minded them smoking. The photoshoot itself went fine, Gayla provided tips and comments to make me feel beautiful and I felt great. Well... I got the photos and weren't really pleased. Gayla picks the 5 pictures she wants to edit so if they aren't your favs, you have to pay extra for her to edit. I had also noticed she had skipped on pointing out small pose errors. I had splayed my fingers which never looks good on photos. I feel like as a photographer she should've pointed it out. As for getting a "individually styled" costume, good luck. I was instructed to only bring a corset. I brought some stuff as back up and lo and behold, they only had small accessories and some articles like shrugs... so thank god I planned my outfit. I don't have a problem with them not providing variety of outfit, but I think they should've said so in the front. Anyways, I would have bypassed all that but I was majorly disappointed when about 80% of the people who were in the shoot were basically dressed the same with the same make up. Sure I get the photos would be similar considering we all shot with the same theme... but I meant like color scheme, outfit was near exactly same. It was almost like the only thing they switched were people. Sorry, I expect more for that high of a cost. I don't know if it's because they are used to dealing with models that look great in all angles, but I was pretty bummed Gayla didn't really look at my face to decide what angles I'd look best in. In short, by all means shoot with them if you are photogenic. If you're normal like me... don't get your hopes up. read more
