Soup & entree selection changes daily....seems like a good variety!
    Trish N.

Omg, why has no one ever Yelp'd this place before?? My guess is it's just a hidden gem that their patrons have been keeping to themselves, hehehe. ;D. I happened to be looking at the website for Abilities Unlimited (a local non-profit) & saw that one of the training grounds for their clients is this cute little "cafe" on the 5th floor of DOH (just outside of downtown, across from Queens Hospital). There was no other info anywhere online, so I just HAD to check this out for myself...& it's open to the public! Just sign in with the guard downstairs & he'll let you up the elevator. Ooh, love the little "secret" location! Now, keep in mind that nothing here could be called "fancy" by any means, but everything's clean, staff is super nice, prices are CHEAP, & most importantly, the food is YUMMY, fresh & clearly made from scratch!! Seems the sandwich & salad selection are always the same, but the soup & entree changes daily. Today's soup was Toscana, so of course I had to try...& it was great!! Creamy, tasty, and very filling, loaded with sausage, potatoes, onions & spinach (I'm used to kale, but the spinach worked just fine)...I could've just had a large soup ($3.75) & been totally full, but I couldn't bear to only try one thing... Unfortunately they were out of fried rice for the day, but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, bc I tried the Bacon Avocado sandwich instead (on the recommendation of the cashier)...and WOW!! I know, I know, it's just a sandwich--and I'm not even a big fan of sandwiches--but this was an exception. O:-) Smooth & tasty avocado, UBER-CRISPY bacon, & beautiful fresh cucumber, lettuce, sprouts & tomatoes (I don't usually eat sprouts either)...seriously, $5 is a bargain...& I had to stuff myself just to finish half of that, along with half the soup! Overall, the ambiance here is probably 2-3 stars (kind of an old school cafeteria/diner-look)...but that really doesn't matter when the food, staff & prices were a solid 5 stars. Throw in the fact that it's helping people to get back on their feet & learn important job skills...well, I'll definitely be back. Maybe for lunch tomorrow?! ;D

There was parking behind the building and it's free but very limited. I got the strawberry glow smoothie which was inspired from Hailey Beiber's smoothie at Erewhon, and $18. It was pretty good though and lowkey filling, I would compare this to an acai bowl in a cup. It was very thick and it tasted a little like bananas, there was a lot of good ingredients that benefit you though.

High ceilings, amazing color palette, adequate seating. The menu is pretty simplistic which I loved! The staff were so so kind which always makes or breaks a coffee shop experience (in my option), so thank you for being so welcoming! I ordered their The Cloud Matcha. I believe they use Wai Koko as the base & coconut cream for the top. The drink was good, but it was small and I felt like there wasn't enough matcha in it for how much I paid (over $8). They also don't have Wi-Fi (which I believe may be by design) so if you're planning on doing work, be prepared to use your hotspot if you have one. Overall, this is a beautiful space to have that "coffee shop" experience with friends to talk story or if you're looking for a quieter shop to relax and rewind.

Known for its smooth, light, and mildly acidic flavor profile with notes of chocolate and nuts, it is highly prized and regulated by the state to combat food fraud. True Kona coffee is only grown on the slopes of Hualālai and Mauna Loa volcanoes. We had been told to check out Kona Coffee Purveyors at International Marketplace by a good handful of Honolulu friends and I'm glad I heeded their advice. The best coffee on our trip was had here and I wish I had more time to grab another cuppa! I ordered a black sesame latte for myself, shared an affogato, and tried a Konawaena pour over (Kiwae honey, roasted macadamia, and milk chocolate) pourover. The latte was sip after sip of balanced coffee with a hint of black sesame. The pour over is where you truly get the caffeine. As for the affogato, easily the best affogato had on the trip (and I had plenty~). I highly recommend Kona Coffee Purveyors if you're in the Waikiki area. The ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly!

Sunday street parking is free so we parked in one of the metered stalls on Sheridan Street. Free parking This place is located on the 3rd floor. We opted to take the stairs to get our steps in but there is also an elevator available. The shop is very tidy and for seating, inside there is a communal table for up to 6 and a table for 2. Outside there are tables on the lanai area. The menu is limited but has both sweet and savory options as well as a good selection of coffees and teas. Today we tried the Guava with cream cheese and Black Sesame with cream cheese. The bread made made both yummy! Both were not too sweet and served in a lovely presentation. Prices were pushing the wallet for the serving size however, I can understand it because of the time and effort that it takes to make the toast presentation make you do a double take. Overall, the service was good and we did not feel rushed at all. We were able to slow down our typical pace and just enjoy each other's company. This definitely a place I would love to share a mommy-daughter breakfast excursion.

It's a bit hard to find though. Located on the top floor of a complex with other food options. You take the elevator up. I'd recommend parking in the Walmart structure across the street because otherwise parking is also hard to find. I got a seasonal drink (white sesame kinako latte with a shot of matcha) and at $11 it was maybe the priciest cup of caffeine I've ever had haha. But it was interesting and tasty and got me refreshed, so worth savoring as a special treat. My husband got a maple cocoa cold foam coffee and it was also delicious! We also got a couple of baked items, which took a while (barista did thank us for waiting) to come out but the tuna melt toast especially hit the spot. The dashi tamago sando was just alright. They also have dessert treats which looked delicious.

I like how a lot of their iced drinks, when you dine in you can do a little pour over action so the ice doesn't water down the drink too much.
