Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I did already believe in the healing power of Reiki. Long story short, I have had long term chronic pain in various areas of my body for over a decade. I was interested in whether Reiki could help me release the tension in my body and help me relax. At the start of the session, Elizabeth asked about what brought me in and what I wanted to focus on. I shared the following: - For 4 years, I have had a lot of pain in my right side body, especially along the right side back. It hurts when I stretch. Lifting my right arm would produce a clicking noise. - I have had TMJ for over 11 years. - I had a strange experience a few months prior, where I entered meditative state by chance, during which I was able to release ~80% of the pain in my jaw and upper neck. However, I still dealt with residual pain at night. The pain does return if I'm particularly stressed. - Lastly, I have an overactive mind, and it was difficult every night to shut down and fall asleep. When the session began, I relaxed almost immediately once Elizabeth laid hands on my left side. Usually when I close my eyes and try to relax, my face and body won't stop twitching and tensing for a very long time (hours). It's especially hard for me to relax my brow, right jaw, right temple, and eyes. Thus I was very surprised to feel the tension in my face melt away within minutes, and I was able to enjoy the rest of the session with a clear mind and relaxed face. The most notable sensations I felt were in my belly, my right knee, and back of my feet. At the start of the session, it felt as though space was being created in my belly, right above my navel -- and I felt positively giddy, causing me to smile. Later in the session, Elizabeth had placed her hands on my knee and then moved on to another area of my body. However, I continued to experience the sensation of weight and warmth on my knee for a long time -- same thing with the back of my feet. I initially thought that she placed a heated bean bag on my knee, but I later realized that I was feeling energy. After the session, the pain on my right side body was completely gone. I could lift my arm without pain, without clicks. The day of the session, I was in the most relaxed state of mind that I had experienced in years. If a thought came up, I could let go of it easily. I didn't have thought patterns that came up and stole my attention that day. I slept very well that evening. The following day, I went to yoga like usual -- and I could stretch SO FAR on my right side. Still no pain. I'm definitely returning. Elizabeth is a bright light and a gift!

I didn't think this was a professional thing to do. And more importantly she never said I might have to cancel due to my husband's work hours or made that very clear.
