WIth over 34 years of experience, she knows how to improve any condition I mention to her. While in her care, I have not had a cold or flu, I have overcome the pain of plantar fasciitis, and I no longer worry about flare-ups of rosacea. Dr. Zhao genuinely cares about the well being of her patients. She listens to my concerns and we discuss treatment, be it acupuncture, acupressure or Chinese herbals. I highly recommend Dr. Zhao for anyone seeking pain management or overall good health and stamina.

I'd been told by several people that acupuncture might not work, but it wouldn't hurt me. But it did hurt me. On my third visit to Zhao something went wrong and when I left the lower part of my face was quite numb. This got worse. Zhao said she couldn't understand what had happened, and that nothing like this had happened before. The numbness moved to the left side of my face and left side of my mouth. It continues now, two months after the session that caused it. I have seen a neurologist, who said it might go away, or it might not. To anyone considering acupuncture, my advice would be to think hard about it--it can damage you. To anyone considering seeing Xingning Zhao, I would say, Don't.

I found Justin through word of mouth as it seems most of his clients do too. Justin's acupuncture technique is so much better and attentive compared to other acupuncturists I've tried in the area. Any time Justin has treated me for pain, the issues cleared up quickly after an appointment. Justin also treats me for Lyme disease and my symptoms have been so much more manageable since being treated. If you've tried acupuncture before and saw no results, or if you've tried other treatments and nothing is working, give Justin a call!

He spent hours trying to figure it out, tried a few things and without luck, told me he had to do some more homework. Returned again and spent another 2-3 hours and told me to try a TCM approved company like Empire. Instead I called a company a little bit closer to me (Empire is an hour away) and they sent out a Tech. Their tech spent 2 hours, and told me i needed Coils, Sparks Plugs and a relay because the machine was getting no spark. I spent $300 on parts, and the tech came back two days later. He also spent two hours the first time, and another two hours the second time, and still could not get it started. He wanted to tow my forklift into their service center and tear it down and figure out the issue. I also had my normal Forklift guy come in and talk with the second tech and try to brainstorm together. They believed it was a computer ECM related issue ($800 module by the way). So now i'm pretty frustrated and worried that this machine is going to cost me a lot of money to fix. So I finally called Empire, and spoke to Guy in service. He said he had a tech who was finishing up a job close by, and he would send him over to me in an hour. I told Guy that his tech will need a scan tool, because the other two techs think its computer related. Guy was confident in his mans work and said "don't worry, my tech doesn't need a computer, he'll have it running for you" I was reluctant at this point, but what do i have to lose? Well Tim showed up and after less THAN AN HOUR HAD MY MACHINE RUNNING AGAIN!!!! I was amazed to say the least. Tim listened to my issues and I explained what the other two techs had told me and what I knew from watching. He went to the basics, checked the vaporizer, made sure there was fuel, and when he saw new coils and plugs, he went to Crank and Cam Sensors. Installed the new sensors (he had them in his work truck) and BOOM! Machine was running again! Just like that.

Some questions were invasive and uncomfortable ("what are your bowel movements like?") but I answered gamely and honestly. I told myself, "He's here to help. He wants a full picture." I'd been told he was a brilliant acupuncturist, and I wanted to have a good acupuncturist. So I continued to answer questions: my diet, my menstrual cycle, my sleeping habits. Then Mr. Jarrett peered at me and said: "Are you aware that you are yelling?" It was a question tinged with condescension. I was not yelling. I had not much raised my voice. It felt like a trap, like a move he's done a zillion times on more vulnerable patients, likely more on women. There was something mind-effy about it. Maybe even with a tiny smidge of sexist sadism. Ten years ago, I would have said, "I'm sorry! Did I raise my voice a little? I didn't mean to!" Even if I knew I hadn't raised my voice. I would have been ashamed, embarrassed, shamed, flushed with awkward remorse. But maybe the benefit of being a little older is to recognize a micro-aggression for what it is. I said evenly, "I'm not yelling. And if I sound a tad tense, it's because this is kind of scary and uncomfortable to me. I am in a vulnerable position here, as a new patient. This is your office, your practice, and you have more power than I do in this situation. So maybe I am responding to those dynamics." He tried for awhile to say he hadn't meant to be imperious/judgmental/condescending but didn't really change the tone. By the end of the appointment, my feeling was: I am not going back. I haven't returned.
