5013 coffee is such a cute neighborhood spot. When you walk in it feels more like walking onto your grandma's southern porch than a coffee shop. I love coming in to see which fresh pasties they have as well as gluten free pastries for my friends. They have fresh brewed coffee as well as some fun coffee creations as well. They have cute local gifts for purchase around the cafe. What a nice and cozy coffee shop! The biscuit and gravy was great! I got the bacon biscuit. I could just eat those all day long. The gravy was pretty good, too. Service was kind of basic. There's light staffing: the owner and another person. That's ok, though. They do bring you your food after you order it. Looks like most of the folks were there for actual coffee (blech!). So they just waited for their cups and found seats. There's lots of space, and a variety of it, to get comfortable. Bring a book or laptop and settle in. read more

The coffee options are sooo clever. I appreciate that they had interesting combos and many syrup flavors! The matcha latte (which I didn't see on the menu but they definitely had!) was great and green, the real stuff which is hard to find! They give you drinks that aren't too milky or sugary!!!! First time ordering coffee here. Ordered a hot Christmas latte. The drink I received was essentially a cup of warm milk with graham cracker floaties in it. There was almost no espresso in it and calling it "luke warm" is a stretch. I would've returned it, but I didn't try it until we were already back in the car on our way to the next destination. The building is beautiful and the atmosphere was nice, but I don't think I'll be returning for an $8 "latte" anytime soon. read more

The 5013 is a terrific coffee shop, with 2 locations, Heath and Rockwall. Staff: I originally went to the Heath locale, but as some of the staff turned over, I wound up following some of my favorite folks to the Rockwall one (though I still stop by the Heath one from time to time). Seeing Jen is one of the bright spots of most mornings. She's a mainstay, full of personality, a great memory, and she makes a mean cup of joe. I'd have to say that little morning chat with Jen is a good portion of why I show up as often as I do. She always peps me up, seems to pick up if something is off and genuinely asks about it. Ari (I have no idea if I spelled that right) is also a good and engaging one. Then there is Jonah, a bit young but he seems like a good kid with a good heart. The staff here really draws you in and I love the upbeat, polite, gentleness to start my day. Coffee: I'm not a fan of Starbucks, and where I lived for 25 years had little French coffee shops everywhere. You could say I was kind of spoiled. This isn't the quite the same, but it has its own unique flair and the coffee is good with lots of menu choices. Parking: The Rockwall location gets super busy, and even though there is a good amount of parking, it can be a little rough as the day progresses. But that's just because it's so great. Décor: It's patriotic themed, owned by Briare (spelling again?), who has vets in the family history and come on... it's in the name. Starts and stripes man, 5013... What's not to love? One final thought, this isn't a chain which means it has that small intimate vibe rolling for it. I love this place. I hope it never changes. read more

Still doing great after a successful grand opening phase! I am glad I found 5013 and promoted it for everybody else to find. Some new staff here today, or at least new to me! Charming & engaging, but all I needed was a pastry to keep driving on to Rockwall. I got an Apple Muffin, great flavor, subtle spices, moist, like something homemade, not from a factory. I ate it so fast, it must of been good! Small crowd here, kinda quiet. They put in more merchandise along the east windows. 5O13 sweaters, home decor, artsy pictures of cows. Girly stuff too: Earrings, earrings, earrings! Some interesting ones made from bottom ends of handgun bullet casings, with a faux jewel in the primer hole. Well, they are shiny & cute for gifting to any 2A Mama. And plenty of other styles, for all fashion schemes. So, take a break from looking at your phone, get a cuppa coffee here, and putt around the displays! 5013 Coffee in Heath, Texas. I discovered this place less than a week ago when while driving to Rockwall. They have only been open a few months and they seem to have a steady flow of customers. The owners are a mother and daughter. The name 5013 Coffee comes from the 50 stars and 13 stripes on the American Flag. Their father/grandfather served in the Navy during WWII. A photo of the father is displayed on the wall. They have a cute vintage store with cute items and t-shirts for sale. You can even purchase their roasted coffee in bags to brew at home. I checked out their menu for about ten minutes and their display of baked goods before placing my order. I ordered the All American which includes four shots of espresso with chocolate milk, caramel syrup with vanilla flavoring topped with whipped cream. I enjoyed my specialty coffee and it wasn't overly sweet. Each drink came with a cute sticker and american flag. :) On my next visit I decided to try a baked good and a different coffee. Check out their summer drink menu. I ordered the Oh My Peach. It was pretty good. The peach flavor balanced the coffee and since it wasn't too sweet, I added a zucchini oat muffin. The muffin isn't too sweet but it was still good. All baked goods are baked in house daily. They also bake homemade biscuits, avocado toast, bacon, chicken salad, blueberry muffins, lemon poppyseed and more flavors. This is a great spot to come for breakfast lunch or dessert and coffee. I noticed a few customers relaxing with friends, studying and enjoying their breakfast with family. Wifi is available. My last visit was yesterday and the pecan pie muffin kept calling my name so I answered by purchasing one. LOL I also grabbed a specialty coffee, Stars and stripes on ice. This drink is my favorite. I haven't tried their biscuits yet buy that's next on my list. The environment is relaxing and they serve up a great cup of coffee. They also sell non specialty coffees, homemade lemonade, etc. Check out their menu or call ahead if you have questions. If you need to place a large order of baked goods for the office or for home, I'm sure they handle that request too. The space is available for rent after hours so if you need a place for a study group, baby shower, etc , give them a call. Excellent customer service, coffee and baked goods. What a cute spot! Tucked away right near standard service, you walk in and it's very rustic with merch all around. The barista was super friendly and attentive and they had plenty of different food and coffee options. I went with the lone star latte and the jalapeño cheddar biscuit. Yall... the biscuit is to DIE FOR, it was buttery, soft and absolutely delicious. The latte was very good, albeit a little too sweet for me but still tasty. Staff apologized for the wait but honestly, they were so quick. When I arrived to the coffee house I asked the blonde women behind the counter if they had a WIFI password because I had a conference call and she looked at me and said in a rude tone "only for paying customers." I was completely taken by surprise as I planned to drink coffee at the "coffee house." Then instead of giving me the password she ran into the backroom and I had to call to ask for it again. Instead of just telling me the password she had me go and check by the register. Horrible customer service! Coffee is bitter too! read more

I meet friends at 5013 for Bible study and camaraderie. It's refreshing to find a seemingly faith-based business that welcomes everyone. A unique touch is a large Bible in the northwest corner where you are encouraged to highlight your favorite Bible verse. The coffee is great as is the staff. I can't attest to the food, but I see many people eating hot & cold dishes and everyone seems to clean their plates. Nice selection of cookies, muffins, and coffee cakes.
