If I could give this company a negative 5 stars I would! Worst moving company!!!! DO NOT USE THEM. Brian quoted me and my boyfriend $129 an hour plus $25 drive fee. My boyfriend and I had everything boxed up ready to go and even helped in the moving process. 5 star moving company showed up 3 hours late to our place. Sent over star guys but did not inform us there would be a charge per guy they sent over. I was told $129 per hour no matter what. Instead they charged 64.50 per guy they sent. They also charged an extra hour that was not correct because I timed them. Also the lead guy on the moving job was always texting on his phone getting no work down as my boyfriend and myself hustled to help move boxes down. (They also broke a few items) So after this day of moving stuff onto their truck to sit over night and to be delivered the next day because that's when we could move into our new place. 5 star moving was late again about 3 hours. This time they just had to move stuff off of their truck and into our garage that was it. Again I understand by Brian that it would be $25 drive fee plus $129 an hour. They got to our place more guys showed up to move things the truck lift broke down on their truck so my boyfriend tried to help fix it we also helped move items and still got charged 2 hours for a job that took 45 mins to an hour tops. I get a bill in the mail for over $600 when it really should have been for $437. I mean come on! I had no problem playing that but this company is untrue lies and breaks items and shows up late. The movers were 2 1/2 hours late. I was not able to reach the company so had no idea if they would even come. When they finally came they worked 33 minutes to move items down the hall from one apartment to another. Then I was charged $200! I cannot recommend this company. Until they improve their services and value for the money, they should be called 1-Star Moving. read more

I was promised that my antique mirror that they broke, was going to be repaired with the coordination of Fargo Paint and Glass including the beveled edge. It's been nearly a year and I have yet been contacted by 5 Star. I've left a couple of messages and have been ignored. Arrrrgh! read more

I do not recommend 5 Star Moving in Fargo ND. It is a long story and I'm sure they would come back with a scathing response that absolves them of all responsibility in the matter, like most of their responses to other one-star reviews. I do not entirely fault them for canceling on my mom the morning of the scheduled move; they do include a clause in their contract which allows them to refuse a move at the last minute if the place or belongings do not meet their cleanliness standards. (Do beware pet owners, or people who haven't dusted recently or vacuumed before they come - 5 Star expects a clean work space, clean furniture and an odor-free house.) However, what I do find enormous fault with is their business ethics. Not only did they cancel on my mom in favor of other jobs that day, leaving her high and dry, but they also overcharged her. I can tolerate the minimum one-hour charge of $160 per their contract, but they also billed her an additional $67.50 for packing services, of which they did none. Any company that will abandon a customer with no notice and without providing a reasonable alternative, and still charges them an unfair amount, will never again get my business. I do not treat my customers that way and I do not respect, or trust, any business that does. read more

If I could give minus 5 stars I would. Absolutely DO NOT DO IT!! No shoe covers / place a complete disaster. Took twice as long as quoted. Floors all scratched up. Complete worst experience I've ever had. No response when several voicemails left. Most unprofessional dirty business o swear I've come across. I have HUGE REGRETS. Oh and another thing they continued to steal money from my account days later after I had already been charged. THIEVES!!! read more

It's disappointing when you see yelp used as a platform for personal vendettas like the review below. This company is truly one of the best moving companies I have seen in the nation. I have made multiple cross-country moves and this is the first company where I genuinely enjoyed the process. I have used 5 Star Moving twice now in local Fargo and both times, things could not have gone smoother. My first move, I worked with KJ and Cole. Cole is one of the managers and his leadership abilities shined. Both men were thorough during the walk-through but still kept the experience light and easy. Their work was very structured and they were very methodical in the loading and unloading. In the middle of the move, it was POURING rain and on top of laying down blankets to avoid tracking mud in, they took their shoes off every time they entered the home out of respect. To witness two young men display that level of respect for my new home was unforgettable. Keep in mind they are entering and leaving the house 25+ times with heavy boxes and furniture. They took off their shoes every time. When I told them they didn't have to, they insisted because they didn't want to ruin my new house. My second move, I worked with Riley and Jeff. These two boys were both in their early 20s so you could definitely tell they had a spring in their step! They moved with efficiency. I had my one year old with me during the move and he inevitably got in the way sometimes. Riley and Jeff were both so friendly towards my son and did not display any frustration even when they had to work around him. The move that was estimated at around 2.5 hours was finished in 2 thanks to their quick feet. Even before they left, we did a walk-through together just in case any boxes weren't in the correct room. If they had questions, they asked but all of my boxes were sorted correctly. On top of that, they were just nice kids. To know that this company employs people who are trustworthy and understand the value of hard work is enough to be a forever customer. Use this company. You won't regret it. read more

I'm getting older and needed help loading my struck. I had a safe in the basement and done larger furniture so hired these guys to haul out and load. They were great. Professional, respectful, courteous and played a mean game of Tetris stacking that truck in such a way they got twice as much in there that I ever would have. Sure, I did hire them to be good but they really went worked with a midwestern value. Thumbs up. read more

Don't use this company! They moved my living room furniture while new carpet was put down. The piano had a rusty wheel which I informed them of a the beginning of the move. They put it on a flat dolly and put it in my kitchen All good After expensive carpet was put down they ROLLED the piano over the carpet leaving rust streaks! Any correspondence with them by me or the carpet company has been met with flat "not my problem " Avoid frustration and heartache, no to mention a ruined $3,000 investment!! read more
