Our furnace went out in late January, and it was a stressful situation trying to figure out how to…read moreget a new furnace as quickly as possible and still manage to afford it. We looked at every option in the St Cloud area, and it was not fun. Home Depot sent out some other company to give an estimate, and it was well over $10K. I looked into buying my own furnace from Lowe's, and hiring a handyman to hook it up, which would leave us with no warranty and probably a questionable product. Then I found Gilk in Richmond. I emailed them through their website, and received a reply the very next morning. They asked for pictures of my existing furnace, and then gave me a quote via email for both installing a furnace I purchase on my own, but also for installing a good Rheem furnace of theirs that would suit our needs perfectly. They were SO affordable, I was able to go with their Rheem furnace and have them install it, which included a lengthy warranty, too. This was such a huge relief, and they were out the very next morning and had the job all done by noon. They were great to work with, very professional and accommodating. They saved us. From now on, I will tell anyone I know that needs any HVAC work done to at least check with Gilk. I don't think I've ever written a review before, but I had to because this place was so great to us.

Hired them for a simple kitchen sink and garbage disposal swap out. Clearly sent out inexperienced…read moretechnicians that did a terrible job. had to have them out 4-5 different times to complete this project correctly. The garbage disposal was installed backwards and was not attached correctly to the sink drain, which obviously caused water to leak which ended up going through my floor and ruining the ceiling below. The connections they made to make the disposal fit backwards, were pulled so tight that it also caused a separate leak in the system! Terrible customer service when dealing with management trying to correct the problems they created. The lack of accountability was unbelievable, they even blamed me for the garbage disposal leaking! Very unprofessional overall. Do not recommend them for anything, ever.

We needed a grinder pump replaced. They came out that day and we asked what it would cost and he…read moresaid about $1200.00 we should have had him break it down but thought well parts are expensive. Josh and a young kid were here for one hour ( it was on our camera). We paid him and after he left was when we got the breakdown of the bill. They charged $750.00 for 1 hour labor. yes that is true we thought it must have been wrong but the gal in the office said that's the normal charge for putting in that pump. Really. She didn't seem concerned that we were upset about the charge. After the fact we decided to call another place just out of curiosity and their price was $680.00 so beware if you have Blue Water plumbing do work for you. Ask in advance what their hourly labor fee is.

I purchased a furnace and air conditioner from Neighborhood Plumbing and Heating. I had nothing…read morebut problems with my furnace from the start. My furnace kept stopping and would not kick in. After numerous visits from Neighborhood Plumbing and Heating it still continued to cause a problem with shutting off and not starting. I talked with a friend who recommended a HVAC professional who came out and told me my flame sensor was causing the issue. It continually builds up carbon and needs to be cleaned every year. If I would have known this to be the case I would never have purchased this type of furnace. Every year someone needs to make a visit to clean my flame sensor. The cost from Neighborhood would be a typical service call of $100 !! This should have been mentioned at the time of the sale and not discovered after having purchased the unit. I would not recommend Neighborhood Plumbing and Heating they are not qualified professionals in their field. I recommend Mechanical Systems Inc. Very Knowledgeable and have expertise in this line of work.

I like to help out small businesses so this was a very disappointing experience for me but I will…read morenot be doing business with them again in the future. Pros: Service guy was nice and unclogged the drain. Con: I spoke with the owner what needed to be done because I knew it was roots that was causing the problem. Told him I need a snake that can remove roots. He said it would be between $250-$300. They showed up around 9:00 am and had everything cleaned up and out of the house around 10:15 am. Technician tried to charge me $375 saying it was 2 hours of work, when I was told it would be $300.00 max and a lot of the time was wasted due to their equipment not working and the technician trying to fix the attachment at the end of the snake. Equipment was old and literally broke after one use. I paid with cash and asked for a receipt and the tech said they were going to send me an invoice in the mail, but I think he meant receipt. I called back to make sure it was a receipt and not an invoice that they were sending out because I had already paid for the service. Owner gets mad at me and starts yelling profanity over the phone dropping f bombs every other word, because I told him I did not want to pay the $375.00, when he quoted me over the phone $300.00 and a large portion of their time spent was trying to fix the snake that broke right away. There were other issues also but when the owner of the company goes off swearing every other word and will not even let you talk that is when there is no point in supporting them anymore.
