Our furnace went out in late January, and it was a stressful situation trying to figure out how to…read moreget a new furnace as quickly as possible and still manage to afford it. We looked at every option in the St Cloud area, and it was not fun. Home Depot sent out some other company to give an estimate, and it was well over $10K. I looked into buying my own furnace from Lowe's, and hiring a handyman to hook it up, which would leave us with no warranty and probably a questionable product. Then I found Gilk in Richmond. I emailed them through their website, and received a reply the very next morning. They asked for pictures of my existing furnace, and then gave me a quote via email for both installing a furnace I purchase on my own, but also for installing a good Rheem furnace of theirs that would suit our needs perfectly. They were SO affordable, I was able to go with their Rheem furnace and have them install it, which included a lengthy warranty, too. This was such a huge relief, and they were out the very next morning and had the job all done by noon. They were great to work with, very professional and accommodating. They saved us. From now on, I will tell anyone I know that needs any HVAC work done to at least check with Gilk. I don't think I've ever written a review before, but I had to because this place was so great to us.

Pros: Service guy was nice and unclogged the drain. Con: I spoke with the owner what needed to be done because I knew it was roots that was causing the problem. Told him I need a snake that can remove roots. He said it would be between $250-$300. They showed up around 9:00 am and had everything cleaned up and out of the house around 10:15 am. Technician tried to charge me $375 saying it was 2 hours of work, when I was told it would be $300.00 max and a lot of the time was wasted due to their equipment not working and the technician trying to fix the attachment at the end of the snake. Equipment was old and literally broke after one use. I paid with cash and asked for a receipt and the tech said they were going to send me an invoice in the mail, but I think he meant receipt. I called back to make sure it was a receipt and not an invoice that they were sending out because I had already paid for the service. Owner gets mad at me and starts yelling profanity over the phone dropping f bombs every other word, because I told him I did not want to pay the $375.00, when he quoted me over the phone $300.00 and a large portion of their time spent was trying to fix the snake that broke right away. There were other issues also but when the owner of the company goes off swearing every other word and will not even let you talk that is when there is no point in supporting them anymore.

UNFORTUNATELY, the service repair is contracted to CROSSTOWN! I was scheduled from 8am-12pm TODAY. I received a call from Crosstown who said I was not on the schedule and I argued that I was. The dispatch lady from CROSSTOWN had to call me back and when she did she stated there were 2 tickets for my repair one was in fact scheduled for TODAY FROM 8AM-12PM and the other one wasn't scheduled so she canceled the unscheduled ticket. I was to receive a call when the service guy was 30-20 minutes out. I never received a call so I called CROSSTOWN and the guy (Jordan) was a JERK and told me that he was going to cancel my ticket since he didn't know when the service guy was going to be here. I told him DO NOT CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT and demanded to know when the tech was going to be here. I am now being told it will be between 1 and 3pm today. This is HORRIBLE customer service!!!
