I talked with a friend who recommended a HVAC professional who came out and told me my flame sensor was causing the issue. It continually builds up carbon and needs to be cleaned every year. If I would have known this to be the case I would never have purchased this type of furnace. Every year someone needs to make a visit to clean my flame sensor. The cost from Neighborhood would be a typical service call of $100 !! This should have been mentioned at the time of the sale and not discovered after having purchased the unit. I would not recommend Neighborhood Plumbing and Heating they are not qualified professionals in their field. I recommend Mechanical Systems Inc. Very Knowledgeable and have expertise in this line of work.

I got quotes from a handful of different HVAC options and ultimately landed with Wilson HVAC for a competitive price for amount of work I needed done and professional-looking website. The guys who came out were great -- likable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. The work took a couple days longer than expected, but they did a fantastic job. My only complaint with Ken Wilson is his poor and unreliable communication. He's impossible to reach. Leading up to the project, during and after, I was (and still am) unable to reach him by phone; the number listed at his website is either disconnected or goes straight to voice message. Sometimes he would call me back, sometimes he wouldn't. Not once could I reach Ken by phone. All documented communication like quotes and bills were by email. The guys who did the work never communicated what time they'd be arriving each day or whether the work had been completed; we'd just wait to see if they showed up the next morning. It's been three months since all the work was completed, and I've still not received the rebates I was due for both gas and electricity, nor can I get ahold of Ken to confirm he submitted them. I still have a remaining balance to pay off; I can't reach him nor has he followed up requesting the final amount. Should I ever have an emergency or need follow-up work done, I'm not sure if or when I'll be able to reach Ken or anyone else with Wilson HVAC. Ken's obviously got great reviews from others, and I'd gladly give him a positive 5-star review on merit of the work done; but be wary trying to communicate with or reach him in a timely or professional manner.

Yesterday my heater decided to not operate and would not ignite the burner. Kyle called me after I left a service request yesterday came over diagnose the issue and coordinated to get a new burner valve and replaced the valve. It was not a fault in their workmanship, but rather moisture that got into the electrical and caused some problems. We also had a chance to chat about my earlier concerns. It turns out they had a summer of emergency work out in agricultural fields that kept them going at a fever pitch, with no time to communicate this to other customers like myself. While I would have appreciated better communication, I certainly understand the need to prioritize in times of high pressure like they were under. I'm amending my earlier review to 5-stars, as they did good work both times they were out. If I could delete or modify my earlier review I would, but it seems that this is not possible with the Yelp system.
