I have always been drawn to her work as an artist, and have been following her on social media for quite sometime. I knew if I ever felt the call to do a boudoir photo shoot, she would be my first choice. From the first phone consultation to the zoom reveal of my absolutely stunning photos, I felt supported and seen throughout the whole process. From getting to create a mood board of the aesthetic I was going for, choosing color palettes and poses, and picking out lingerie, even the preparation for the shoot was fun! Marisa was a quick e-mail/text away if I had any questions or concerns regarding anything and everything. When I arrived at her studio, I immediately felt any anxiety I had melt away. Whilst excited about the art we were going to create, I'm an introvert and was nervous I was going to be awkward and shy. But as soon as you see Marisa's gorgeous, and carefully curated, creative space, you feel right at home. We got to look over my mood board one more time and explored the studio to see where we wanted to set up specific looks. And the pampering! Keleigh arrived to do my hair and makeup, and she was absolutely delightful. It was pretty special having a personal glam squad to make you look and feel your best. I have never felt so beautiful, like a powerful goddess! Marisa effortlessly guided me through all the poses and I really started to get into it after warming up for a few poses. So many different scenes you can create, each corner is like you are transported to a different oasis. She also has a beautiful outdoor patio with a claw foot bathtub, surrounded by stunning foliage, for all you nature babes. I left feeling sexy, playful and empowered. I just turned 40, and wanted to celebrate how my healthy habits and choices have paid off, both emotionally and physically. I wanted to capture my love for myself. My confidence. My sovereignty. To see the softness, and the fierceness, in me. And Marisa encapsulated that, perfectly. We created some serious magic, and I get to relive that day every time I look at these photos! You know a photographer seriously wants to capture the best pictures of your baby if they want you…read moreto come back when baby is fed, well slept, and happy. For some reason things just didn't align well with my baby's naps and feedings that day so it was hard to manage a tired baby but they managed to get real good photos of my baby and the family. My baby didn't really smile much yet but they were still able to get smiling pictures of her too. Very professional and works so hard to get the best pictures. I was truly grateful for this studio and loved my experience. Also the picture quality was amazing!! The backgrounds were cute and the clothes were so adorable too!! The price point is reasonable and I'd say cheaper than some others for a better quality. I think the turn around time to receive the photos were faster than we expected too. Truly appreciate working with this photographer. He really seems to love what he does and we are blessed with these amazing photos!!! Couple things to note/tips: 1. Go when your baby can smile. Yes after their neck strength gets way better too. My baby still can't really smile yet and she's 4 months old. I really wanted to push having 100 day photos when she was 3.5 months old so neck strength and expressions aren't expected. 1a. Also go when your baby is well fed, pooped, rested, good condition, etc. makes a world of difference. 2. They give you a looooot of photos to choose from. Be prepared to be pleasantly overwhelmed with photos. If you get decision fatigue then ask your spouse to help. Cause I loved getting the full gamut of photos. 3. They have a wardrobe but if you want your baby to wear something specific, bring it! Their wardrobe is pretty cute tho and fits with their backgrounds. 4. They have set backgrounds to choose from in their studio. The backgrounds are really cute but if you're looking for something specific, unique, tailored to you, the studio setting might not be for you. But tbh all 100 day, dohl, event photos basically look the same...so I would think it's odd to expect something different. I've seen tons of beach engagement pics. Tons of dohl pics with the same backgrounds and balloons. So why complain about a studio pic with similar styles and backgrounds or lack of variety? You're already the unique and different baby/family. So there's that. 5. Bring a toy or something that can get your baby's attention. I realized belatedly my baby likes to stare at herself in the mirror. She also likes her little fox doll. If your baby has a preference for a toy, perhaps being prepared like that will help with the experience! 6. Match your clothes with your family and partner beforehand. Clothes, accessories and shoes too so they look cohesive in the photos! Belatedly realized my husband's shoes didn't match any of our family's and my son's also seemed a little too bright. Oh well.
