Once I decided to pull the trigger booking with Marisa, I just knew this was going to be the experience of a lifetime! I have always been drawn to her work as an artist, and have been following her on social media for quite sometime. I knew if I ever felt the call to do a boudoir photo shoot, she would be my first choice. From the first phone consultation to the zoom reveal of my absolutely stunning photos, I felt supported and seen throughout the whole process. From getting to create a mood board of the aesthetic I was going for, choosing color palettes and poses, and picking out lingerie, even the preparation for the shoot was fun! So many different scenes you can create, each corner is like you are transported to a different oasis. We had the best experience with Marisa Leigh for both our couple boudoir and post wedding photography. From the start, Marisa was incredibly quick and efficient in setting up various shots, making sure everything was perfect. Marisa and her team are the BEST! I was super nervous and so hesitant to do this, but I am so glad and proud that I pushed myself out of the dreaded comfort zone! Marisa and her crew are AMAZING! 10/10 would recommend! I was both very excited and very nervous about my boudoir session and I can easily say that it went better than I could have imagined. Marisa is very sweet and welcoming and makes you feel so comfortable right from the moment you meet her. The whole session felt like I was among friends and I know people say that a lot but I definitely consider myself to be quite awkward with new people and I am not one to be very open about myself but it honestly felt effortless with them. They really know how to make you feel confident and shower you with compliments and praise and they actually seem genuine about it and not like they're just trying to boost you up (even though it does anyway). If I could give my experience working with Marisa a 500000 stars (absolutely fantastic!!!), I would! I was nervous to pose for my boudoir photoshoot, and I really wanted to make sure that whoever I trusted with this experience was someone who "knew their stuff." I looked at many boudoir shoots photographer companies around LA, and no one's work impressed me like Marisa's. From the moment I scheduled my appointment, I knew I was in good hands. Every question I had, I heard back from her fantastic assistant, Jayda within the hour, and I always felt comfortable communicating with both Marisa and Jayda. I always felt taken care of by her team, and that is such a great feeling. See, the thing about Marisa is, she takes her time making sure you feel your most secure in the creative process, and she gives you the tools to bring your boudoir photoshoot to life. I didn't book an appointment, and then have my photoshoot, and that was it. This review is long overdue and I apologize because Marisa's service was so far and beyond anything I hoped for. I had maternity photos taken by Marisa last year. I was looking for a boudoir sort of style, nothing overly sexy or glamorous, but rather something staged sitting on a kitchen counter in my jeans and a bra sort of thing. I made it clear that I did not want to be standing in a field somewhere, wearing a prom dress looking fat and bizarre. To each there own, but for whatever reason that seems to be the only style of maternity photos that photographers are shooting. Marisa told me she absolutely understood and by the looks of her portfolio I trusted her. Let me preface my experience with saying that I HATE having pictures taken of me. I feel awkward, I have no idea what my good side is and left to my own devices I will stand with my arms limp at my sides and hips squared to the camera. I was dreading this shoot, but felt like I HAD to get this pictures taken to remember this moment in our lives. I was so taken off guard by the afternoon we had. My husband and I met Marisa at her studio. It was a beautiful location with tons of spots for great shots. You have seen her photos, she is truly great at what she does. However, if any of you are in the industry of customer service you all know that the product is a small part of the package. Instead, what you're truly selling is the experience. Marisa is what you are paying for. She is so enjoyable to be around, she makes you feel immediately comfortable and like you have known her forever. We visited from out of town, but If we lived closer I would work hard to have Marisa as a friend. She was assertive about giving my husband and I direction in our shots to help with posing.
