Marisa Leigh is an extraordinary photographer who is more than a visual storyteller, she has a gift of looking beyond what is visible to free that who I truly am. She created images that tell the story of me that I didn't even know existed. Through inquiry, she helped me find the "why" of starting my new journey of publishing a children's book so I can meet the challenges that will follow. Marisa chose just the right questions and interpreted my answers with clarity to allow me to see who I really am, not just who I thought the world should see. She encouraged me to take the mask off that experiences had put on me and gave me the opportunity to be who I was created to be. She is the embodiment of a quote in my story, she saw me "with eyes of love" so I could see my publishing journey the same way. Marisa did not "market" me or my book, she supported me in defining the way I choose to enter the world and change it. There is no greater success than that. In gratitude to you Marisa, you simply pointed the way. read more

Marissa Leigh might actually be a photography goddess. She made the whole experience so much fun- and what an ego boost too! I was beyond impressed when I saw her photos- she is a master of posing and lighting and can bring out the best in you. 11/10!!! read more

Once I decided to pull the trigger booking with Marisa, I just knew this was going to be the experience of a lifetime! I have always been drawn to her work as an artist, and have been following her on social media for quite sometime. I knew if I ever felt the call to do a boudoir photo shoot, she would be my first choice. From the first phone consultation to the zoom reveal of my absolutely stunning photos, I felt supported and seen throughout the whole process. From getting to create a mood board of the aesthetic I was going for, choosing color palettes and poses, and picking out lingerie, even the preparation for the shoot was fun! Marisa was a quick e-mail/text away if I had any questions or concerns regarding anything and everything. When I arrived at her studio, I immediately felt any anxiety I had melt away. Whilst excited about the art we were going to create, I'm an introvert and was nervous I was going to be awkward and shy. But as soon as you see Marisa's gorgeous, and carefully curated, creative space, you feel right at home. We got to look over my mood board one more time and explored the studio to see where we wanted to set up specific looks. And the pampering! Keleigh arrived to do my hair and makeup, and she was absolutely delightful. It was pretty special having a personal glam squad to make you look and feel your best. I have never felt so beautiful, like a powerful goddess! Marisa effortlessly guided me through all the poses and I really started to get into it after warming up for a few poses. So many different scenes you can create, each corner is like you are transported to a different oasis. She also has a beautiful outdoor patio with a claw foot bathtub, surrounded by stunning foliage, for all you nature babes. I left feeling sexy, playful and empowered. I just turned 40, and wanted to celebrate how my healthy habits and choices have paid off, both emotionally and physically. I wanted to capture my love for myself. My confidence. My sovereignty. To see the softness, and the fierceness, in me. And Marisa encapsulated that, perfectly. We created some serious magic, and I get to relive that day every time I look at these photos! If you are on the fence about taking the leap, just do it! You won't regret it. xo read more

Wow! What an experience. Please do yourself a favor & book Marisa! She is amazing - her energy, excitement, & expertise are incomparable. Playing dress-up & exploring different poses was so much fun. Her energy & guidance made me feel fearless, powerful, & empowered in a way I never imagined. I'm so grateful for the safe & encouraging environment Marisa & team created. And being able to bring my sisters to cheer me on, it was a dream. Thank you Marisa for giving me your Sunday on a holiday weekend, & all your energy to make the perfect shot (pink lights, hello!). All! Please book her - it will be the greatest gift you could give yourself! read more

Say yes! You will not regret working with Marisa and her team! This is a very overdue review, but I've been wanting to share how wonderful my experience was with her and her team. I was so comfortable and put at ease. I felt like a goddess and I loved the way she captured me and the experience. Kelly was a dream too - she did my hair and make up and it was so amazing to have her transform the look throughout the shoot. This is great as a "once in a lifetime" experience, but I had so much fun, I would love to do it again. Thank you Marisa and team!! read more

We had the best experience with Marisa Leigh for both our couple boudoir and post wedding photography. From the start, Marisa was incredibly quick and efficient in setting up various shots, making sure everything was perfect. She helped us choose the right outfits, which made a huge difference in how comfortable and confident we felt throughout the shoot. She also was perfect at coming up with special and unique poses that were meaningful to us as a couple! Her studio is amazing with a variety of looks that really added variety to our photos. The makeup artist she works with was equally wonderful, bringing unique touches to every different look we tried and made sure hair was always in place. Marisa made the entire experience seamless and fun, and I will definitely be coming back to her for my future photography needs! read more

Had an amazing experience with Marisa and team. The communication leading up to the shoot was great. I felt informed and prepared leading up to it which made me feel completely relaxed on the "did I think of everything"front. Marisa could tell I was nervous when I arrived, she reassured me that I was going to have a great day with beautiful pictures at the end and I absolutely did. Everyone was welcoming and kind and were so encouraging. I felt beautiful and empowered, I forgot about all the things I didn't like about my body for a day. Hair and makeup (Kelly) was great, and she was there the entire time to adjust for different looks. Shilo was great! She kept the lighting right and my champagne flowing Thank you guys for a great experience! read more

My experience with Marisa was so fun, sexy, and empowering. I loved creating my mood board, it took me weeks to make it just the way I wanted, to make sure it expressed who I am. This is such a brilliant way to explain how you envision your shoot, when words can't fully tell the story. Marisa will give you ideas on clothing/lingerie outfits to bring. Once you get to your shoot, she'll help sort through everything, and create scenes for each outfit. Then there's hair/makeup with Keleigh. She works total magic! She changed up my makeup for each outfit. I loved chatting with her every time I sat in the makeup chair. I created and brought my own playlist at Marisa's suggestion. Totally set the mood! I felt confident, sexy, and comfortable during the whole shoot. I am recommending Marisa to all my friends! read more

Marisa is warm, friendly, and authentic in greeting me and working with me. I was impressed with the thorough information and check-ins leading up to the photoshoot in order to make the best of the investment. The studio is within her home so it is a welcoming and comfortable space for the intimate photoshoot experience. She utilized her wonderful creative eye to come up with individualized backdrops to fit the mood and vision of each look I was hoping for, and she provides great energy and very helpful cues for posing. I also love her hair/makeup artist during the shoot, Keleigh. She is very sweet, attentive, and talented as she created several different looks for me, and she fully supported and executed my desire to incorporate a vintage look as well. I felt beautiful and at ease, and I valued their artistic input and feedback. They make a great team, I'm happy to have worked with them, and I would definitely love to come back again. read more

First and foremost, I would like to thank Marisa-- you are a gift sent from above and thank you for sharing your gift to us! I would also like to thank Keleigh (hair and makeup) and Shilo (assistant) for making my experience so amazing! Keleigh-- what you created with my hair and makeup was just incredible! You ladies helped me feel so comfortable and sexy during a personal vulnerable moment-- being almost naked during a beautiful boudoir session in front of people. Let's be honest, not a lot of women are comfortable in their own skin and not once did I feel uncomfortable during the shoot. All the positive energy from everyone around radiated and just pierced through my heart and soul which made the shoot so much fun and memorable! For those who are looking to do a boudoir shoot-- DO IT and please do it with Marisa and her team! Another tip I agree with Marisa is to shell out-- don't skip on the lingerie you purchase and the session and products you choose in the end. This is such a great investment you will have as a memory ingrain your heart, mind and soul, and you will also have the memory in book if you choose to do so. I can only speak highly of Marisa and her team and I 100% recommend her to everyone and encourage those who are pondering about boudoir to do it! If you're still in doubt, have a consultation with Marisa-- as soon as I had that consultation with her, her involvement, presence and genuine character of caring about her client and the pride she takes in her work just sold me! read more

If you're reading this, let it be the sign that you should stop researching already and just book the shoot! Everything about working with Marisa was incredible. First, there's flawless communication leading up to the shoot. Every possible question or fear you have will be answered, and Marisa and her assistant, Shilo, give you every possible resource to make sure you're prepped and feeling great before your day arrives. Then there's the shoot itself. Are you kidding me? I typically hate getting photos taken (professional or otherwise), but this was one of the most fun *days* I've ever had. Marisa's not only talented she's also a warm, funny, grounded, intuitive person who will make you feel more beautiful and more in charge than ever before. She *sees* you and helps you *see* yourself. And it all feels effortless. You don't have to do anything other than trust her and her team. Extra thanks to Keleigh for perfect hair and make-up. She, Marisa, and Shilo all work together to create a fun, enthusiastic environment that you'll never forget. read more

Marisa and her crew are AMAZING! 10/10 would recommend! I was both very excited and very nervous about my boudoir session and I can easily say that it went better than I could have imagined. Marisa is very sweet and welcoming and makes you feel so comfortable right from the moment you meet her. The whole session felt like I was among friends and I know people say that a lot but I definitely consider myself to be quite awkward with new people and I am not one to be very open about myself but it honestly felt effortless with them. They really know how to make you feel confident and shower you with compliments and praise and they actually seem genuine about it and not like they're just trying to boost you up (even though it does anyway). Keleigh, who did my hair and make up was just as friendly and sweet plus she knows what she's doing and really transformed my hair and face. And the assistant Shilo was so helpful and just as great. :) I know there are other boudoir photographers out there with lower prices but honestly you get what you pay for and Marisa and her crew are definitely worth it. The quality of her work and the whole experience is the best! read more

Marisa and her team are the BEST! I was super nervous and so hesitant to do this, but I am so glad and proud that I pushed myself out of the dreaded comfort zone! As soon as I walked into her studio I was literally hit with a calming sensation! The whole environment is bright, airy, positive, and just beautiful! I was there for a few hours, but it felt like minutes. It truly feels like hanging out with some girlfriends... chatting, getting dolled up and taking pictures (It's as fun as it sounds!). I just seen my pictures and I am blown away! I'm my biggest critic and I didn't know if I would have a handful that I would like.... but to my surprise I had over 100 that I loved! Narrowing it down was tough! This whole experience has been so great! From shopping for new outfits, to getting pampered for a day and now having pictures capture this time of my life. Thank you for being warm and kind and a badass photograp read more

Recently I turned 30 and wanted to start this new chapter with courage, confidence and compassion for myself. I feel as a woman, there's pressure to look a certain way and in return we feel a certain way that may not always be so positive. I have gone through my fair share of up and downs when it comes to body positivity. It's easy to look at imperfections instead of realizing how strong a woman's body is and what it's capable of doing. With encouragement from close friends, I found myself shedding off more than just my worries and negative energy and focus on seeing myself in a warmer light. With Marisa's excitement for life and the environment she creates for her clients, helped me see the beauty of my body. I felt safe and trusted the process and I'm thrilled that I did. It's so important to see yourself be free. I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone if you're feeling timid. It's an epic experience! read more

I was super nervous booking a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift for my fiance, but Marisa and her team made the entire experience straight-forward, easy, and fun. I greatly appreciated the thorough communication leading up to the shoot. She sent faqs and a lingerie guide and had me create a moodboard on Pinterest which we reviewed over the phone. During the shoot, Marisa and the team made me feel beautiful, relaxed, and empowered. Plus, the studio space is gorgeous and flooded with flattering natural light. I definitely recommend Marisa if you're considering a boudoir shoot for yourself or a gift. I can't wait to see my photos! read more

It's an overdue review. Marisa was professional and responsive the whole process of our boudoir shoot. My partner and I booked a couple boudoir shoot in summer while partner visited. Marisa replied my inquiry and got in a call with me quickly to know our vision and executed it. She has a comfy studio up on the hill so we didn't just got the indoor background. She's very personal and easy to work with . We had a fun shoot and love the photos. We ordered more photo than original package and upgraded our package. Thank you for fulfilling my wish. read more

If I could give my experience working with Marisa a 500000 stars (absolutely fantastic!!!), I would! I was nervous to pose for my boudoir photoshoot, and I really wanted to make sure that whoever I trusted with this experience was someone who "knew their stuff." I looked at many boudoir shoots photographer companies around LA, and no one's work impressed me like Marisa's. From the moment I scheduled my appointment, I knew I was in good hands. Every question I had, I heard back from her fantastic assistant, Jayda within the hour, and I always felt comfortable communicating with both Marisa and Jayda. I always felt taken care of by her team, and that is such a great feeling. See, the thing about Marisa is, she takes her time making sure you feel your most secure in the creative process, and she gives you the tools to bring your boudoir photoshoot to life. I didn't book an appointment, and then have my photoshoot, and that was it. She was with me every step of the way to make sure that I was happy with my investment and ultimately, that I enjoyed the process and had fun on my shoot day. She sent me lingerie recommendations, a survey to get an idea of what I wanted to do, what I wanted my vibe for my shoot to be. She gave me a digital space to add music that I would want played during my shoot, that made me feel my sexiest. She helped me create a Pinterest board of inspo of how I wanted to pose. We had several phone calls leading up to my shoot, to insure that I was my most confident and comfortable. She gave me creative freedom, while also giving me her expert advice, and I am grateful! She was attentive to all my questions, wants and ideas. And even after my photoshoot was done, and I stopped by to pick up my final project, and her welcoming spirit and smile sent me off with not only my photos, but also a few fun goodies in my MARISA LEIGH tote bag (that I wont spoil for all you future models *cough* I mean clients! She welcomed my sister and friend to join me, and the photoshoot became such an empowering day of women; connected to our sensuality with Beyonce playing in the background and champagne in our glasses. Keleigh, an amazing and experienced hair and makeup artist, made me feel so beautiful and taken care of. I did not have to lift a finger that day, and it was so nice to be pampered. And the night of my wedding, CHILEEEEE, my husband was floored! I am no model, I barely take photos to post on Instagram...but with Marisa's help, her expertise, her passion to make women feel beautiful, and all the tools she gave me leading up to my shoot, my photos came out...BA-BY...delicious haha. Seriously, it was the cherry on top of the end of my wedding day, and my husband was VERY HAPPY! I have already told Marisa that she has a client for life in me. Every few years when I need a little reminding of the amazing gift it is to be a woman, I am writing her an email. She has truly found her calling in using photography to bring such confidence and sexuality out of someone. Never know, in a few years I might go back for a joint photoshoot with my hubby. She is amazing and I highly suggest trusting her with your boudoir photoshoots! read more

She'll walk you through every step of the way, and of course she will help direct you on the outfits and poses. She has keen eyes for lighting and doesn't miss the details. I recently did a shoot with Marisa and her team. It was a great experience overall. Marisa and the rest of her team were very friendly and personable and I felt very comfortable throughout. I would recommend to anyone doing a shoot like this to already come knowing exactly what you want to wear and to be specific about what types of shots you want. I thought that the amount of time would have allowed me to take my time with trying things on and getting suggestions about what would be best, but everything went by pretty fast so I kinda had to make quick decisions about my looks and didn't have time to do everything I wanted. Either way it was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to seeing my pictures!!! read more

This review is long overdue and I apologize because Marisa's service was so far and beyond anything I hoped for. I had maternity photos taken by Marisa last year. I was looking for a boudoir sort of style, nothing overly sexy or glamorous, but rather something staged sitting on a kitchen counter in my jeans and a bra sort of thing. I made it clear that I did not want to be standing in a field somewhere, wearing a prom dress looking fat and bizarre. To each there own, but for whatever reason that seems to be the only style of maternity photos that photographers are shooting. Marisa told me she absolutely understood and by the looks of her portfolio I trusted her. Let me preface my experience with saying that I HATE having pictures taken of me. I feel awkward, I have no idea what my good side is and left to my own devices I will stand with my arms limp at my sides and hips squared to the camera. I was dreading this shoot, but felt like I HAD to get this pictures taken to remember this moment in our lives. I was so taken off guard by the afternoon we had. My husband and I met Marisa at her studio. It was a beautiful location with tons of spots for great shots. You have seen her photos, she is truly great at what she does. However, if any of you are in the industry of customer service you all know that the product is a small part of the package. Instead, what you're truly selling is the experience. Marisa is what you are paying for. She is so enjoyable to be around, she makes you feel immediately comfortable and like you have known her forever. We visited from out of town, but If we lived closer I would work hard to have Marisa as a friend. She was assertive about giving my husband and I direction in our shots to help with posing. She helped me with my outfit selections and she made me feel like I was doing something right in a situation that would normally make me uncomfortable. Marisa Leigh - Boudoir Photography Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Let me first say that Marisa ROCKS and I hope I have a chance to have her photograph me again. When I walked into the studio, I felt like I had known Marisa forever. One of the things I absolutely love, love, love about Marissa is that she isn't just taking pictures, but creating ART. I absolutely loved when I went in to view my photos...that's putting it mildly, I was ecstatic over the images. But before I get ahead of myself let's start with the shoot. I had an absolute ball during the shoot... I think i could have kept going for another hour or two. I was absolutely comfortable with Marisa, who helped me get bolder as we went on, and I had an overall AWESOME time. Much more so than anticipated. I adored the makeup and hair looks they created for me...and, well, the glasses of Champagne sure helped! As I said, when I viewed the pictures, I was amazed by them. I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked. Marisa's team and her camera made me feel model beautiful! I couldn't have been more excited or happier about how the photos turned out. I think I would have picked just about every shot if it had been possible. I actually teared up on my way home (who am I kidding, I cried). The pictures had several purposes for me. They were an anniversary gift for my hubby. They were also in honor of my upcoming 50th Birthday. I wanted to have a visual reminder of what 50 looked like. And, after the viewing I now think that 50 must be the new 30! I didn't realize this was the most important thing, but I also have some health issues and the whole experience, especially how beautiful the pictures are, has changed my thinking about the body that is in chronic pain that I feel completely betrayed by. I now have a sense of my power within, which is priceless. Marisa's pictures left me feeling completely empowered and pretty damned good Whatever the reason, or for no reason at all, you should book an appointment with Marisa, go in and let her make you feel as beautiful and empowered as I did. read more

From the beginning of the process to the end product, everything went smoothly and I'm left a super satisfied customer :) Marisa does such an amazing job at making you feel at ease, gauging your comfort zone and coaching you the entire time during the shoot to capture your inner goddess. Nicole (makeup artist/hair stylist), Shilo (assistant), and Marisa all genuinely make you feel beautiful and hype you up the entire time, so much so that it radiates and shows in the photos.
