The stylist, Kristen Eiden, convinced my daughter that she needed to have her hair colored (instead of highlighted) and proceeded to spend 4.5 hours to accomplish this. My daughter came in with a picture of how she wanted her hair to look (see attached pictures). Instead of blonde highlights, she came away looking like a brunette with some gray mixed in. Kristen convinced my daughter that her hair looked good and had her believing it until she got to look at it outside of the salons lighting. After seeing her hair, she began to cry because she strongly felt that she would be made fun of at school. My wife reached out to the salon that evening stating that we had significant concerns with the styling. The receptionist said she would reach out to Kristen and have her contact us. We didn't hear anything back, so my wife tried reaching out to Kristen via Facebook Messenger and received no response at all. My wife called the salon in the morning and asked to speak with a manager. She was told that the manager/owner wouldn't be contacting her back until the end of the week! My daughter literally refused to go to school, so we were left with no other option but to go to another salon to have her hair fixed. We finally received a call back from Kristen, 24 hours after the incident occurred, and she and the owner of A Day Away Salon refused to issue any kind of refund and took zero responsibility for the issue that had occurred.
