Seagrave's has been feeding me and the good people of Salem with more care than many of us probably deserve. I have sung in a church nearby on occasion for nearly 30 years now and whenever Seagrave's caters our lunches the world feels a little less cruel. A great sub can do that. A cheesesteak even more so. The bread has the right balance of chew and give. The meat is tender and unapologetically plentiful. A sandwich from Seagrave's is not a snack. It is a declaration. You will be full and you will be happy about it. The subs are delicious and reliable, like an old friend who always shows up. The cheesesteaks are even better. Whoever decided that much beef and that much cheese should share the same roll should be awarded a medal. For half a century or more the Seagrave family made this little white concrete box on West Broadway into one of the best reasons to stop in Salem. Now it is under new management. You may worry that something this good could slip away. Do not worry. The family is still watching and still guiding and based on my most recent meal the sandwiches are as tremendous as ever. The building itself looks like nothing much. For years there was not even a sign. You had to know where to go and if you were lucky enough to know you went. Word of mouth was more than enough advertising because food like this does its own talking. So here is the advice. Put Seagrave's into your GPS. Park outside the plain white building. Step inside. Order a sub or better yet a cheesesteak. Watch them pile it high and then take the whole glorious thing back to your house or your car or your church hall. Take a bite. Life will not be perfect but it will be slightly better. Five stars. Always has been. Always will be.

If you get the sub, add in those "PICKLES', and you could taste the freshness in the cold cut. Now for the CHEESESTEAK;;;;;;; I forgot to add the Oregano and Garlic Powder.. Did that once I got home and that thing was light and filling. Actually both (sub&steak) were quite light when consuming. Not that heavy bloated feeling. Great Customer service, parking, and small town feel. Thank-you so much for having me at your establishment.

Luck would bring us this direction. Hunger would bring us in…read more 100% recommend. Parking is shared with residents, but you can get in and step right up to the counter to order. We got in a few people ahead of us. It's a deli. You can get sliced meat and cheeses here. They have a hot menu and cold cuts menu. You order your sandwich and then grab your chips and drink. All items separate. We ordered a sandwich to share. A 20in Phillidalphia cheese steak. She asked what we wanted on it, and I asked her right back what she would put on it. She said everything. Done. We took a seat since we were eating in. Maybe about 12 seats inside. Right by the deli chiller, or the windows is what you get. It's not meant to be fancy as they are focused on food. Due to the rush, it took a few minutes, but it was served up soon. I was in shock. She had split it into 2 10-inch subs, and I couldn't believe how much food it was. Had to wait a few for it to cool. Once it did, I picked it up. The bread was soft. Not a fast food, hard bread. Delicately soft stuffed with delicious meat, pepper, mushrooms, and sweet peeps. So . Darn. Good.

I am very happy to say this is a good little spot. It was early so I got a Scrapple, egg and cheese sandwich. Two eggs and a good amount of scrapple. I like that they slice the scrapple thin and then double stack it on the sandwich. The Scrapple adds a lot of crispiness to the sandwich. It was a one man show the day I went. He may not be the fastest but he does a very good job and the regulars seem to like him. I almost forgot $5.99. You know I like that.

I went in my phone and helped him do the basic ingredients on gyro & quesadilla!! Place looked clean, next to liquor store so many junkies/stragglers walking near deli buying their alcohol...? Food being fixed to order, made fresh in front of me, and there is 16 chairs and four tables to eat in. Fountain sodas, are coke products! Canned and bottled soda available too. So I get the chicken Gyro, and the chicken quesadilla. We take it home and eat it 30 minutes later. The quesadilla was hot and fresh, but the chicken had no flavor and barely any seasoning. You could barely even notice there was any chicken in there because it was flavorless.... They gave us salsa in a Heinz packet, and then they gave us sour cream on the side. The salsa was like something that you get at Wawa with the peel off foil top. Nothing done with Love or unique ". Would highly recommend you avoid this place if you're looking for something special and different. Very average and the employees were fairly nice to me. Not very talkative and not very helpful with their own menu. Had to figure everything out myself. I have not tried this place for breakfast sandwiches so maybe that's better than what I got? they open early, but I got there around 5 PM.? I would give the place probably about a 5.8 out of 10. I would the deli was not memorable, and very forgettable!

The last time we were there was when it was still Short Hills Deli, so we were surprised to see how much the interior was changed from the previous deli. We were seated and asked to be moved to a booth instead (no issues there) as the majority of the restaurant are wood tables and chairs. Server came over and took drink orders and answered our questions about the menu with a smile. We knew the sandwiches were HUGE, so we decided to split a sandwich (regular, not oversized). We ordered cheese to be added, but when the sandwich arrived, NO CHEESE. Our server disappeared at that moment, so we asked another server to bring us the missing item. It came cold, which cost this review one star. If the cheese was done right, it would be melted over the corned beef (extra lean, which costs extra). We did enjoy our lunch (sharing is the better option) and paid our bill. As we were leaving, we decided to grab a rye bread and some bagels to go. Young dude at the counter wasn't very friendly, but that didn't bother us. Finally, we did receive a couple of chocolate chip cookies in a bag with our check. They looked delicious, but we still haven't eaten them yet (they're in our refrigerator for another time). We would return again, even though we don't live in Cherry Hill.
