We had a wonderful dinner. The ambience and decor is very fresh, unique, young, modern. We loved sitting next to the fish tank. Our server, Bailey, created a wonderful experience for us. My favorites were the salmon avocado boats and the surf and turf roll. Lots of creative uses of textures and flavors. We LOVED the crunchy leek topping. I tried something new with the sunset roll (raw scallop) and i didn't like it but glad I had the opportunity to try. A must visit restaurant.

First time in Grand and looked for a sushi place…read more When I first walked in it seemed very relaxed with a cool fish tank and a sushi bar. I opted for a table near the fish tank. Service was great! I loved my server and she was super patient with me. I opted for the following: 1. Salmon Avocado Boat: the boat was deep fried with a salmon/cream cheese mix. I would say it lacked the salmon. It was mainly an avocado/cream cheese bomb. It was nice and creamy, but missed that bite. 2. No Coast Combo: the platter came with 5 nigiri and a california roll. The california roll has real crab and not imitation crab. It surprised me but it was good. The nigiri was delicious, my favorite was the salmon. However the black cod was the most interesting bite. Just for these two items with a 18% tip was $54. Its definitely a splurge. Took pictures of the menu to give a good idea of how much it cost to dine here.

We grabbed takeout from Teppanyaki Steakhouse in Grand Junction on a Thursday night while traveling…read morethrough town. It was an easy walk from our hotel, which was perfect because it was late, we were tired, and we were hungry. From the outside, it's connected to the Ramada and doesn't necessarily look like a fancy steakhouse. But once you walk in, it has a nice Japanese-style vibe. They also have an outdoor patio with market lights that would probably be great in warmer weather. It was mid-March and cold, so nobody was sitting outside. The young man who greeted us at the front was fantastic -- very friendly and super helpful. We grabbed menus and sat near the bar for a few minutes while deciding what to order. Inside, it's set up like a traditional hibachi steakhouse with several tables where chefs cook right in front of you. There were four hibachi stations and three of them were already full when we arrived, which tells you the place is pretty popular. I only saw one chef at the time, though, and a couple more groups came in while we were waiting for our food, so hopefully they had more chefs coming on -- otherwise that could turn into a long wait. I ordered the hibachi ribeye, which came with vegetables, fried rice, and a salad. The ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. The vegetables (carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini) were really good. The fried rice was decent but could have used a little more seasoning. The salad looked pretty basic at first -- mostly iceberg lettuce with half a cherry tomato hiding at the bottom -- but I wanted to try the ginger dressing. That dressing was actually delicious and tasted homemade, and I ended up eating the whole thing. My husband ordered one of their combo bowls with chicken and fried rice, which he said was very good. He chose the miso soup instead of salad, and that was the only miss of the meal. It didn't really taste like the traditional miso soup we're used to. Overall, the food was very good and the service from the host made a great first impression. If we pass through Grand Junction again, we'd definitely consider stopping here again.

Well about MSG, soy sauce, walnuts, peas, Campbells soups, to almost every fast food franchise and chain restaurant uses MSG, yet a Yelper and her cat think fresh food doesn't have MSG... she needs a fresh bowl of peas and tomatoes, topped off with parmesan (they all produce glutamates naturally). This is one of the few family owned Japanese restaurants in Colorado, but on Yelp we have angry cat lady who will never be able to appreciate a small business like this. So, Yelp is the platform for misguided angry whiners who might need a dog and a jar of peanut butter.
