I found Creative Beauty Studio on Groupon. I bought a Groupon for a powder gel mani. When I called to make an appointment, they told me they had no time to do a "Groupon" appointment, but that they would honor the price anyway (I refunded the Groupon no problem). They did honor the price, which I think is super awesome. My powder gel mani came out perfect! (I just went on a week long trip to Mexico where I was in the pool/ocean & in the sun and there's not one chip!) They had a good selection of colors, too. I'm picky when it comes to my nails and I was very impressed. I also got a pedicure. A different manicurist did my pedi and it came out okay - not the best I've ever had, but not the worst. I got my hair cut the same day. I called a few hours before my appointment time and asked if they could squeeze me in, and they did. (It was a Thursday afternoon - not sure how flexible they can be on a weekend). The guy who cut my hair did an incredible job! My hair looked gorgeous. He blew it out and even cut a little more after to make sure he got all the dead ends. I was super impressed! The lady who washed my hair did a great job. She gave me a little head massage, which was a nice touch. The salon is modern and new and the location is great. Their prices are totally reasonable and the service was excellent. I called for an appointment I asked the female that answered the phone if there's any available appointments the same day around 4:15pm-4:20pm, I was told please hold let me check the schedule she says today is OK. I let her know this is my first time and I have a groupon. She said coupon I said yes from groupon for a gel manicure, she asked me to hold again then starts talking to her coworker in her language, comes back to the phone and says "There is no appointments today or tomorrow". I say you just said a minute ago ok, but when I told you I have a groupon there is a problem. Then I asked if I was to walk in and your not busy then what would happen? The best hair and nail salon I have been on Long Island. I am a regular of their organic nail gel treatment. The owner often does my nail and she is super friendly and experienced. Not only does an amazing job of giving me perfect gel nails but also keeping my nails from being damaged bcz of such treatments. I was pleasantly surprised how strong my nails are after doing such regular nail treatments. My gel nails usually last three weeks without any chipping or fading colour. I originally found this business on Groupon and it is definitely a true gem! The owner is friendly and is experienced in both hair and nails. She has done my gel manicures and it lasts upwards of three weeks without chipping! She is friendly and very knowledgeable too. You cannot beat a gel manicure for $18! I also had the pleasure of having Vincent style my hair. He was gentle while blow drying and didn't pull my hair like most stylists do. I gave him a style to mimic and he did it perfectly. I have been getting gel manicure and usually last me about 3 weeks. This time My nails lasted 4 days. The gel nail polish just literally peeled off in 4 days. I believe they have poor customer service. I asked for just one nail to be colored with silver glitter and the lady mentioned to me it will be extra since Groupon said only one nail color. To me this was ridiculous because I said only one nail to be colored glitter not like I asked for something fancy. Usually I know businesses that I used via Groupon that have great customer service to offer things not part of the deal of course to attract customers. This place was nice. I went because I bought a groupon. I can tell it was new and need work but it wasn't bad. However, their service sucked. The girl who did my nails cut my finger while cleaning out my cuticles and didn't bother to even clean up the blood. She literally would've painted over it if it was bleeding on the nail. In addition to that, it was my first time going there and the girl who did my toes did not even bother to tell me where to go to dry my toes. I had to pick up my shoes and walk while trying to figure out where to go. Krystal did such a wonderful job on my nails. This salon holds the most beautiful and wide selection of powder gel colors.. and I'm so thankful for that. I got my powder gel treatment 3 weeks ago and they still look fabulous. (Will post photo soon) Personally, powder gel is the best you can do for your nails. They never crack, and my nail stays very healthy underneath it. It doesn't use any chemicals or lights that harm your skin, and it's kind of hard to find someone who can do it well. Be Aware! I was paying my bill yesterday for salon services at Creative Beauty Studio in Great Neck-It was actually my first time at this salon. The owner asked me if I had cash to pay for the bill. I had honestly never been asked this before from a local hair salon. After telling her that I only had enough cash to pay for the tip, she said I can go and get the cash at a bank, which I really did not wish to do. She never advised me initially about paying cash for the services. She then told me that she would have to charge me a credit card processing fee. I asked her what type of fee- thinking not more than a couple of dollars. She started to ponder and think a bit and then randomly blurted out $13. (my total bill was $150) At that point I lost it! I said are you kidding- I never paid a fee like that before to use my credit card for salon services-I can walk up and down Middle Neck Road and not one shop would charge me that kind of fee that you're asking. I continued to tell her that if she charged my credit card the additional $13, I will deduct it from the persons tip who did my hair. One lady sitting on a couch waiting said that she totally agreed with me. The owner saw that I was talking quite loud (so everyone in the store could obviously hear what's going on) and getting even more upset and she finally said-ok, since it's your first time don't worry about it-but next time you pay". Such a great place! l have a best friend that lives down here and I come to visit every once in a while. We like to come here to get our nails done. I'm here for my 3rd visit and it's finally time for a review. I got the basic pedicure and French manicure this time. The girl Crystal paid great attention to details and I never felt rushed. She is a such sweet girl. She made me feel very comfortable. My nails lasted 2 weeks and they still look fabulous. She really did a good job as usual. They are absolutely rude. Specifically the lady with the glasses who did my nails. I was about to buy their groupon for gel manicure but i called them and they said i can pay the same price without the groupon. I said okay. On the groupon the deal was for a gel manicure AND artificial nails included. When i asked her about it she said "no i dont know why it says that we only do that for sns." They had a groupon for that so i was like okay i'll get that instead. She started doing it WITHOUT cutting my nails. She did not ask me about that and this is my first time doing SNS. I was unaware of all the details so i would ask her questions too and her replies would be so rude. Anyways, she charged me full price. 48 dollars. Since she said she would charge me the groupon price i asked her about it. She said "you have to come back next week for that". Um.. confused about your policies and rules but okay. I DID NOT wanna leave her a tip, she could charge me double and be NICE about it. But her attitude was disgusting. And when it was time to pay. She asked me for tip TWICE. It's alright here. The prices vary. You might pay for a soak off ($5) or you might not. Which most salons do not charge for. At first I was told there was a charge but then the lady changed her mind. if you're a first time customer(like me) and have a Groupon they will take your phone and refund it so they can charge you same price at the register. It's done so they get the money. What's the point of introducing your business on Groupon if you don't plan on honoring a Groupon voucher ? Its not fair for customers to have wait days for a refund yet also be charged for the service. Clearly, Its more about making business here rather than focusing on customer service which was off-putting. My gel manicure started chipping after a few days nothing special. I never write reviews but i had such a great experience with Creative Beauty Studio over the phone and I amazed that they have such great customer service. The woman I spoke with was so kind and flexible I had to confirm that what she was offering was right because I couldn't believe it. Basically I had an issue and she resolved it by making an exception for me. I told her that I am only in the area for a week so it's not like I will be a regular. It amazed me that she was willing to take scheduled me for her last appointment on a busy weekend. To whom this may concern I went into this beauty studio asking for a blow out. Usually when asking for a blowout it means using a blow dryer and a brush but that was not the case. A lady starts to blow dry my hair and when it's completely dry she starts using a hair iron something I could of done at home but I choose to come get it "professionally" done and instead she uses a hair iron. Then a man takes over to do the rest of the job and he attempts to use a hair iron too but I stopped him. Long story short I got the worst blow out of my experience. I walked out of there l disappointed and I immediately washed my hair when I got home. The people at that salon do not have any experience in blow drying hair. Further more they advertised 18 dollars for a blow out but instead I walked out of there spending 32 dollars on a hair job that I could of done a better job with at him.
