We lived at 4600 for one year, and were so, so happy to leave. It was not a good experience overall.
The individual apartments can be lovely inside, as was ours; it was full of light, pretty large, and well-maintained. However, because they're individually owned, your experience might vary. (We loved the owner of our place, Unit 932, Puneet Sahni.)
HOWEVER, the building management is a nightmare.
First, they charge exorbitantly high fees to move in [$300 to move in, in a neighborhood where many buildings don't charge any move-in fee] as well as threatening other fees often.
Second, for all their fees, the maintenance of the building is very, very sub-par. There are three elevators, and one or more breaks down often. In fact, for the last several months, one of them was non-operational the whole time, leading to long waits and having to wait for another one to come when you're most in a hurry. The hot water went down multiple times a month in the winter, as well as the heat a few times. A leak caused part of the ceiling of the workout room to collapse, and it was not repaired for months.
Third, the building manager, Ms. Sheila, as well as most of the daytime front desk staff, are rude, inflexible, and fail on the big picture of their job (making life in the building functional and pleasant) in order to rigidly enforce nonsensical rules. We are very accommodating residents and at NO other building have we had issues with management, but here they stymied basic living (bringing packages and medium sized items out the front door to friends, moving in, moving out, and getting redress when the water heater was out again).
In summary, the inside of our apartment and the interactions with Puneet, our landlord, were lovely; everything else about the apartment (maintenance, staff, and fees) is frustrating in the extreme, and I would not recommend that a friend live there. read more
