On 5/2/26 my elderly mother received 50% of the value of her trade when she went in alone. She didn't know any better and had no clue what her car was worth. They gave her $10k for a 2021 Honda CRV in excellent condition with 66K miles, then posted it for sale on their website the next business day for $27k. That's a $17K profit!!! My sister and I went to the office and spoke with Rusty (the owner). It got very ugly. They refused to acknowledge the POA that we had with us--made us get my Mom in there--got her to say that she liked the new car (2020 Hyundai Kona) and then refused to reverse the deal and give her the Honda back per our request. Ended up with an "even" swap. Not very even. My mom, who has early dementia and has a 5th-grade education, didn't understand what she was getting or signing. They took full advantage of her and kept her higher-value car despite knowing that she was not in full capacity. Buyer beware!! I have reported 44 Auto Mart for possible elder abuse as well as contacted the Bullitt co attorneys' office and the Kentucky Attorney General's office. Due to her lack of decision-making capabilities, we have POA, have her credit frozen, and handle all her financial affairs, and they still managed to take advantage of her in this way. BUYER BEWARE! I just don't want another person to go through what I just did yesterday so please learn from my mistake. I made a 5 hour round trip drive to this dealership (had to take off work early, which is not easy with my position at work) with what I though a deal worked out with the salesman at this dealership via text. Yes I did realize I was trading in my truck and they had to inspect it to give an accurate trade-in value. I had done my online application with a 800+ credit score- I did know I was currently upside down on the vehicle I was trading in. I had voiced all my concerns with rep and literally explained my preferred monthly payment and was told in writing "I CAN GET YOUR PAYMENT WHERE YOU WANT" (see screen shots I have attached) I get to the dealership yesterday and salesman apparently forgot all the text he had written? He went to finance guy and brought me the paperwork with extremely higher monthly payment. I clearly said, you have waisted my time and your time because that is now what we have discussed. He acted like he did not know what I was talking about and went back to the finance room, to which then the manager came out and apologized for the salesman saying he thought we had everything ready to go when we walked in & I guess it wasn't? Manager didn't want to listen to me explain my side just talked over me and apologized for his salesman. No one even offered to sit down to ask my husband and I if they could try to work a deal out with us on the truck we had drove to purchase, to go over numbers at all as they only showed us 1 time monthly payment. Just showed us out the door. I will say the manager as showing us out the door said they would fill our (nearly full already tank) up for the drive home which was very nice of him, since again it was a complete waisted trip. well what started off as a 2 hour drive we were met by an "okay" interaction with the "highly" motivated staff, we had communicated though text that a trade may be possible without finance (trading down from 2014 silverado bought 4 months ago in cash for $17,000 down to a 2015 eco boost mustang listed for $13,800). was told our truck has a "misfire" because the man who looked said "oh I can just feel it" with 0 intent of plugging it in to see any engine codes. Then hit us with a lowball I've yet to encounter even on Facebook marketplace ($4000) and asked if we would just buy the car and keep the truck purely because we had brought up the truck was paid for in full in cash 4 months prior. I've gotten better service and treatment from tweakers working fast food and certainly nicer people. read more

went in a faithfully bought a car trusted the sales person signed contract that stated there was no Lien on the title put the bank that approved my loan also paid in the contract for the vehicle to be tagged and license. a month later found that there was a lien on the vehicle purchased vehicle in November it wasn't put I my name until mid January and then got a tax bill because the motor vehicle office sent a bill because the car was not put in my name until January. Took bill to the store were I bought it they promised to pay and later on denied to pay because I took possession in nov when I drove it off the lot with no idea there was a lien on the car. do not buy from 44automart! their a joke and scam! i wish i could post all the paperwork i got. look at all their bad reviews! we bought a 2020 dodge ram put 20,000 down. Didn't even get to drive it for weeks because they had to fix our radio that they told us was just film protection, Then they kept it for another couple weeks to fix our window that wouldn't roll up and down. So out of the three months we had it. It was in the shop for two. We only got to have it for a month before the whole DPF system went down and the turbo Caused by them who did the oil change And used a glue strip filter To come off and ruin our whole DPF system! At $7800 job! Oh, and by the way, the only one month we got to drive it. We was making payments on this of 785 a month. So we had invested a good 24,000... 44 auto didn't want to do their job as a company and fix something that there was their fault for putting on a shitty cheap glue filter! their tag was on the window for the last oil change! so they said it would be easier to just trade out, but we said we're not doing a regular trade because this ain't a regular situation! They only gave us back 7600 out of 23,000 we had invested! Oh, and we didn't even get all of that! Plus our $3300 warranty we paid for that. They only gave us 3000 back for. And on top of $600 that we had to pay for a battery that didn't need replaced and to get it out of oxmoor, where they told us to send it, just to ask to bring it back! they only sent us a check for $562. so there's a large money that's just in their pocket on top of the loan company paying them for the 2020 Dodge ram that we got screwed out of. I'm gonna make sure to post this everywhere. I'm gonna post it on Shepherdsville facebook group with all the receipts if I can't post the paperwork here! even our warranty company said take it back to them because our warranty says "the dealership is responsible for first 12,000 miles or 1 year, which ever is first" do not go to 44 auto in Shepherdsville! We bought a Jeep Cherokee from the Shepherdsville location in Jan. 31st. It has been in service center more than our driveway. Taking too long to resolve issue. The latest loaner they provided is extremely filthy, has many issues and wonder when it will break down on us. **BUYER BEWARE** BUY ELSEWHERE We purchased a vehicle through 44 Automart in Shepherdsville. During the test drive we noticed the blind spot detection sensors needed servicing. We were told it would be addressed when vehicle was serviced and was given a loaner until they serviced it. When we picked it up we were told the manager thought it was to much to fix, and they asked us to wait 30 days for the warranty to kick in so they could fix it, and profit from the repair instead of paying for it now. We were promised a loaner during repairs. When the time came, they refused to give us a loaner and we had to get a rental. The warranty was suppose to cover half and they offered to cover the other half, however that is far from what transpired. We took it and dropped it off for repair on a Monday with them knowingly agreeing to have it it servicing by next morning. We didn't hear anything till Thursday that same week, when we were notified they just looked at it, and was taking it to the Chevrolet dealership to be repaired. A week after that we were notified that the warranty wouldn't cover it, and thus we wouldn't be reimbursed for the rental fees. We contacted Brian Stratton the manager who said he would talk to the rep and get it taken care of. He not only never got it taken care of, he ignored it and left our truck at dealership without contacting us or them. By this time we had incurred over $1200 in rental fees. They gave us $700 to help some, in which I told him it would help but not solve the issue. I explained why should we have to be out of pocket over $500 dollars because they dropped the ball, lied to us, didn't honor their promises and left our vehicle sitting for so long. We went and picked it up from dealership ourselves even though they took it there, and was charged $125 just to pick it up, they did add that amount to the partial rental payment, but we were promised they would work on getting it fixed over time in which I waited patiently to happen. I then contacted Brian who gave us his cell phone number and said to contact him anytime, and asked for an update and to be reimbursed for the other $500 we had to spend on rental fees, and still had a broken vehicle. He then went on to threaten me with harassment and police reports because I mentioned I would contact the BBB, and make reviews of our experience. He then told us we aren't allowed to contact or talk to anyone at 44 again, and to go elsewhere for our warranty. They are our home warranty service center otherwise we have to pay another shop or service center a fee. He tried using our friendship with one of the salesman, saying he would fire him in hopes of us dropping the claims we legitimately had against their business practices. Who does that? In the end I still have a broken vehicle, don't know where to turn for the warranty work that needs done, and short $500 dollars of my 5 kids Christmas money all because they couldn't honor their promises, and illegally (although I just found out it was illegal for them to do it) but illegally ask us to wait and let the warranty fix the repairs they knew first hand about and when trying to talk to them Brian is saying asking for the money they caused us to incur and pay because they didn't honor their loaner agreement is extortion. Laugh out loud. What a company, and if not the company What a manager? How does someone so cruel end up in a position like that where they screw over honest families with fabricated lies and don't honor their own words. Trust me when I say once you drive off, they are done, they seem sincere until they get your money, then you are just a statistic to their sales board. I recommend staying far away from them, because unless the vehicle you get is in perfect condition they you will get screwed over big time. read more

I have always heard great things about this place. Yesterday my husband and I went in to see about a jeep they had for sale. The first salesman that was dealing with us couldn't convince me to pay double what I saw the same vehicle somewhere else, he got another salesman. He tried to intimidate me into buying this vehicle. I will never return or refer anyone to this place. They were trying to convince me to initial a piece of paper saying I would come back and buy it. I offered to put $500 down when we got there so they could run our numbers. When he came back he had a bunch of math equations written on a piece of paper. In those equations it said I would be putting $10,000 down! My husband was mad when we left and I was appalled they thought they could bully us into buying a car. read more

Although longer, my review of the people behind this "business" can be encapsulated in a simple sentence: they lie and do not respect their customers. I noticed on autotrader.com that this dealer had a nice looking car on its lot. I live in Southern Ohio (over 2 hours away from the dealership). I therefore called the dealer to get some more information on the car and create a price ceiling, so as to not waste my or their time. The salesman I spoke with, Carl, assured me that he would be able to work some magic on the price and assured me that he would be able to get me my price, or very close. Carl insisted that I make the 2 hour journey to buy the car. I took Carl at his word, and proceeded to make the trek to Louisville. I soon learned why used car salesmen have such horrible reputations, and why I was such a fool to trust one. When I got to the dealership, Carl was there with a big smile on his face, and he had a nice looking vehicle to show me. I took it for a test drive, and I liked it. I got back from the test drive and started talking price. I was astonished when Carl was only able to offer me $199 off of the sticker price. This translated to the price of the car being almost $1,200 over my stated bottom line. When Carl failed to make the deal with me, an older hatchet man came out to attempt to make a deal with me. I am certain that these inscrutable salesmen were banking on the fact that I would have, at the end of the day, invested a total of 5 or 6 hours in the venture, and that I would come off my bottom line to just get the experience over with; instead, I walked out. I left this "business" in relative astonishment that a person (even a used car salesman) would misrepresent himself so badly as to allow another human being to waste over 5 hours of his life.
