My experience with 420 on Dunn Street in Bloomington (south of 4th Street in the winter of 2023) has been only positive. Bryce, the store manager, has happily answered all my questions. He has an extensive knowledge of the store's inventory and is totally honest about his products. He stocks only those products he personally believes in. He has a background in science and his information reflects this. When I ask him about a product his store didn't carry, he takes steps to order it. Never been to a more uptight head shop. You can't touch nearly anything without all the employees collectively yelling at you, even if they aren't in the same room as you (they have cameras in every corner and can see you from anywhere in the store). It makes you wonder what has happened in the store before to make them act so strict. Other than that, the staff is helpful and the prices are average. Nothing really to set it apart from other head shops other than being in the middle of a college campus. read more

What a terrible experience. I said the word bong and rather than politely tell me they call them water pipes, the kid behind the counter asked my girlfriend and I to leave. We were mad af. Would have been nice to be able to comment on their selection but wasnt in the store long enough to know. Hahahaha! It's above an ice cream shop , the name is 420, and the logo is a pot leaf so obviously I had to check it out after getting some ice cream. I guess at caught my eye was how brazen it was. Well it is in fact what you would think it is. They card people upon entrance to make sure when is old enough to even be inside and they have a prodigious selection of pipes and bongs in cases around the store, and even some apparatuses that look like gas masks. I walked back down the stairs immediately and just started to laugh. Who knew, in Bloomington Indiana. More than that, there's another store of the same name a couple of blocks down Dunn. I have no basis on which to rate it, really, so I figure three stars is average, and they had quite a selection and a friendly staff, so they earned at least that (plus so many more stars for giving me a great chortle). Perfectly, it's right across the street from a seedy-looking park that sort of makes me think of a teeny People's Park (in Berkeley). read more

I hated this store. Very rude employees. They weren't helpful and spoke very sarcastically to me and my friends. The employees all had sunglasses on indoors and instead of asking us if we needed help finding anything he blabbed on about Eminem and seemed like he was speeding on some type of drug. First I'd like to say I never went here because of the reviews. I always went to wild style, which is also a good place. The customer service actually was phenomenal. Brought in my whole hookah set up because of a clog somewhere in the build. They diagnosed the whole thing with water, and we were able to decipher it, didn't push to buy something new. Really friendly. Non judgemental. Really regret letting the reviews drive me away from here. Worth checking out at least once. read more

These guys have everthing! Mothership, Illadelph, Toro, all the best glass. These guys know their stuff. I went in this week and they practically held my hand and showed me everything i wanted to see and more. They even took glass out of the case i could not afford and showed it to me just cause! Their vape selection is the best hands down. These local vape shops have trashy liquids, but this shop carries national brands that are super flavorful. read more

420 offers a lot of great brands and generally has reasonable pricing. You can't beat the location and the store has a nice atmosphere. The problem with 420 is that it seems like some of the time when I shop there the staff is friendly and eager to help while on other occasions I find the staff to be very rude and unhelpful. Unfortunately the attitude of the unhelpful employees leaves such a sour taste in my mouth that I would not recommend this store to a friend. read more

I called 420 ahead of time and told them I was in the market for grinders. When I went in they remembered me and helped me out with finding what I was looking for. The staff is absolutely fantastic and always helpful. They don't try to sell you something that wouldn't be good, but they are willing to suggest good products. All of their merchandise is quality. I highly suggest checking the place out even if you aren't interested in buying anything. read more
