My first impression was...this place is kinda messy. Chipped paint, dusty counter, debris on floors. I was almost afraid to put my feet in the tub but they did scrub it out really well so I felt pretty comfortable with that. They do seen to clean each foot tub well. They also wear gloves. It is a bit warm in here. Pretty good pedicure. Love the hot towel. He did a good scrubbing. My feet definitely feel good and waaaaay softer! I am an art teacher and rarely get my nails done during the school year but I have been really just wanting to get a gel manicure badly so I decided to look up nearby nail salons. Avalon is located only a mile from my workplace so I decided to give them a try. I've heard great things about them from a few friends too. My favorite part about my visit here were that I was a walk-in and they were able to accommodate me right away. The host/woman at the desk was friendly and had me pick out my nail colors. I selected a dark blue and glitter (galaxy, ya know?!) and had a seat. The nail technician (I want to say her name was Sarah) wasn't very talkative and got to work immediately. My other favorite thing about this visit is that she was quick! I loved being able to walk through the doors, get my nails done and leave in 30 minutes. So awesome. My nails look great too! My only complaint is that the nail technicians work space was super dirty. It had dust particles all over it which was making my hands itchy. It just felt dirty. Next time, if this happens, I'll be sure to speak up and ask her to wipe the space first. I was pleased with my $30 bill, which after a tip was $36. That's almost $10 less than I was paying at my former nail salon.
