Management refuses to address this issue (the entire property looks like this.) I caught the offending neighbor tossing dog crap off her 2nd floor balcony as well. We've reported her multiple times, how about implementing those fines you speak of, proud manager? If I could give negative stars I would. Since I've lived here, we're on (disgraceful) property manager #5. The high turnover rate speaks for itself. This place is nothing more than disguised Section 8 housing. Our last neighbor told us she was on it & it showed. Hence the chicken fat baked into our hallway from 2 Julys ago. The grounds are flooded in dog poop. It is EVERYWHERE starting right at the bottom of the stairs. The residents don't pick it up & neither does management. When we called the office, we were sternly told "It's the resident's responsibility." Ummm no, it's ultimately yours, Ascent! Their solution is to send text messages out that go ignored. Kids can't play on the grass & guaranteed you'll step in it & bring it inside. Not to mention the swarms of flies. None of the windows have screens, so if it's a nice day forget opening them for fresh air, your apt will be swarmed by flies. We had to buy an electronic swatter. Fly tennis is an on going game over here, fun for the whole family! There are designated garbage pick up times which nobody honors. Multiple bags of garbage build up in the hallways all the time baking in the heat. There are supposed to be fines, but nobody from the office ever comes to check the buildings to enforce the rules. The hallway walls & floors are absolutely disgusting & stained by constant leaking bags of trash. I've seen mice & cockroaches feeding on the open bags feet from my door & have reported it to management multiple times. There is also a literal blanket of cigarette butts & trash in the landscaping outside of most balconies. The property manager does not care one bit when anything of concern is brought to her attention. We've seen someone walking around in the middle of the night with what looked like an AR-15. We called the police, it is documented. We also found a bullet in the parking lot that we turned into Jasmine. This happened when multiple cars were being broken into. My washing machine broke & was replaced with a unit that was moldy, full of hair, lint, stickers, crusted detergent, someone else's nasty wet clothes inside & an exploded pen in the dryer that turned the entire thing blue. It also smelled of cat piss. We both immediately called the office and each spoke to someone, there was no follow up. It's been a month. Unbelievable they think that's acceptable for any tenant, let alone one who pays almost $1800/month, on time each month. Their "dog park" is going to get your dog sick. It's essentially an oversized kennel that nobody cleans. This is how animals get ill ... worms, Parvo, etc. Imagine your child playing at the park with dog poop every 2 feet piled up. How they list this as an amenity is beyond comprehension. If you decide to check this place out, make sure you walk not only around the back buildings, but up the stairs to the 3rd floors to see for yourself. It's absolutely vile. We can't get out of here fast enough.

The complex it self is littered with dog poop, used condoms, dirty underwear, dirty diapers, and over grown weeds. Parking is impossible for buildings 1,2,3,6. Like I'm not even kidding. If you're not in a spot by 6:30, you'll be parking multiple buildings away. The landscaping looks so bland and there's massive holes in the ground. The weeds are often so over grown, they go over the sidewalk. You're forced to use possibly the worst wifi ever for $115 which hardly works. You can get your own service but you still have to pay their wifi fee. That makes no sense at all. Maintenance takes forever to complete tasks. It took a month for them to put our closet rack back on the wall (that fell off for a third freaking time). The flags around the complex are torn up, barely hanging on, or just completely laying on the ground. Maintenance nor management cares about anything here besides money from residents. I wouldn't recommend living here what so ever.

They send pest control bi-weekly if you request it enough times but somehow despite the "treatments", you will STILL see live roaches all across your apartment (we moved in JANUARY BTW). We had to go there everyday to tell them their apartments were INFESTED with not only just bugs, but ROACHES. Save your money, time, and mental wellbeing and sign somewhere else. You will be living with LIVE roaches and no one will care and act like you're the one insane. "It's just palmetto bugs".... also known as the American Roach. The entire complex is infested. The worst people I've ever had to deal with in my entire life and the worst living conditions. We put in a request to break our lease since we would see a live roach EVERYDAY and they started ignoring our calls and emails, but 2 DAYS before the requested date to break our lease they FINALLY answered after I wrote them with proof of live bugs in the apartment and told us our request had been granted and we needed to be out in 2 days. When we said we hadn't heard from them and can't get out of there by then they told us we only had 2 weeks to find somewhere new to live and get all of our stuff out in order to break our lease. They act like this is an issue you'll deal with everywhere in the South, in reality you won't have to deal with roaches anywhere if the staff treats it. I could write a novel about how this is the worst place to live. Just save yourself from it.

They are kicking out the wrong people…read more Many of you remember "Stitch", the infamous muzzled husky that was intentionally dumped with a muzzle on his mouth left to die. His body temperature reached 107 degrees where he had to be darted , causing a puncture to his lung and numerous injuries, including an overnight stay at the hospital . Robert and his family took him home to start rehabilitation. It took a couple of days for Stitch to trust them, but eventually, he opened his wounded heart to them . Slowly, but steady, he learned to love and trust again. Now, he sleeps with them and found a new friend in their other husky dog, Luna. As they suspected, rehabilitation and recovery would take a few months . Taking him around people would be a while , and they have mastered that schedule and skill . They have been responsible pet owners with this proven effective process. Unfortunately, there was one person in the apartment area they live in , that wasn't ok with that. This man, finally caught on video, seen dragging his dog into the park to prove a point that this was his right to enter the apartment dog park. Robert is seen pleading to the guy that he needs a minute to get him out of the pen , and he doesn't listen . Robert pleas with him to stop approaching and to not pet his dog, and this man puts his hand over the fence . Stitch lunges at him , but does not bite. This apartment complex "Hawthorne at the park " in Greenville, SC is taking the easy way out and instead of setting up for what is right for the sake of Stitch and how much he is overcome, and how far he has come and rehabilitation with trust from the life that he was dealt before this happened, they are giving this family with a young daughter FORTY -EIGHT hours to leave the apartment complex. Normally, I would not use this platform for such a situation, but Stitch is Anakin's dog. Stitch is Five Forks dog. Stitch is everyone's dog. This community raised $3,000 to keep this dog alive, and we will not go down without a fight. This family has earned Stitch's , trust and they are taking the adequate precautions to keep Stitch away from socially awkward situations to keep this kind of thing from happening , and this apartment complex is allowing one man to be the reason for a family to lose their home and/or dog . We have a video with proof that shows Robert pleading with the individual not to enter the park yet he does not comply. We are making this post as a public plea to ask the apartment complex to be the voice for Stitch and other anxiety stricken dogs everywhere (including Anakin!) to be his voice and stand for what is right ! After what stitch has overcome and what this family has done for this dog, he cannot be rehomed and learn a whole new process of being loved again. This is not Stitch's fault. Lastly, do not live in the first floor. Anyway, you will be disturbed by the upper floor residents and it is humid, dark, and no sunshine at all. Managers were friendly and responsive. Electrical car charging was good enough but these are only good things about this apartment facility.
