Cheese plate and fruit
Andrew I.

We had a weekend wedding in Cape Cod. For our rehearsal dinner, we came to 400 East. From the moment we contacted them, they were nothing but accommodating to us. We set everything up with Rich. He laid out all our options. He let us know the two different pricing points depending on how many guests we had. We ended up with over 30 people, so they gave us the back room so we had private space away from the rest of the customers. Ruby was our server. She did a fantastic job. She was right on top of everything the whole evening. Was constantly checking in on us to see how things were going and if we needed anything. The one thing I've learned about Cape Cod is that most places you go, the food is good. 400 East was no exception. We had three main choices plus salad, rolls, cheese tray, and fruit. Chicken fingers are good, but a little dry. They gave us the most amazing buffalo sauce to go with it. I'm not sure if it was homemade or a jar, but it was amazing. I took a piece of bread to clean my plate with the excess sauce. My favorite was the sausage and peppers. They cut them in shapes to allow all the flavor to seep in. They used red and yellow peppers. I've never been to a restaurant that used yellow peppers. I think restaurants everywhere should start doing that. One of the best sausage and peppers I've ever eaten. My fiancé thinks it's because they added a little red sauce into the mix. We also had penne à la vodka. I liked it, but some of my guests from New York kept complementing how good it tasted. They were all surprised that Italian food in Cape Cod could be this good. Weather going for dinner or hosting a family party, I highly suggest 400 East. Five stars on the service and hospitality, four stars for the food.

Prime Rib special
Laurie P.

Friday, October 6th We got there early about 5:10 and we're seated right away. Dad ordered a Chardonnay, hubby ordered a beer and I had a Cosmo. They had prime rib as one of the specials. Neither Dad nor I have had prime rib in years, so we both decided to go with it. Sides were a baked potato and green beans, but there are other choices available as well. Hubby had the spinach salad with sea scallops. I shared some of my prime rib with him too. The prime rib was absolutely delicious. I ordered mine rare and it was perfect - tender, moist and tasty, and Dad loved his version too. Hubby enjoyed his scallop salad. Marialen was our surver. She was very busy but checked on us often. It was a great dinner at 400 East! They do a wonderful job of keeping the noise level low with special ceiling tiles. It's nice to be able to hear each other talk without having to yell. When we left, there was quite a few people waiting to get a seat. It's one of the locals favorite places to go.

Clam chowder
Sharon R.

I ordered the curb side to go. I got a Margherita pizza thin crust and a bowl of clam chowder. It was delivered to my car hot and delicious. I love the thin crust on the pizza and the clam chowder mystic, creamy, and have a lot of clams in it.

Wequassett has been for many years among the best properties I go to in the US (or internationally…read morefor that matter). Every single time we visited, the service has been impeccable and I find it hard to think about any other resort that can get even close to Wequassett. The grounds are perfectly kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. And although, there's a trend even with classic high-end resorts (St. Regis, J.W., Ritz-Carlton) to make their renovations a little too modern for my taste, Wequassett successfully kept their old school charm. We always stay at their Signature Water View King rooms (and book well in advance as there's only a few of these) so I can't speak of other room types. The amenities are flawless and even though the main pool gets VERY crowded during summer weekends, the pool attendant always found 2 chairs for us. My only recommendation for this property is to have a backup plan for the main pool. Perhaps installing a deck and adding some more chairs there to accommodate more guests that prefer the beach vs. the pool.

And Mother Goose there seem to be never ending problems with the house so we often had somebody fixing the air conditioner. Somebody fixing the upstairs toilet and somebody fixing whatever else was not working around the place. It didn't feel great to have maintenance people around as you're getting your hair and makeup done for a wedding. Did not feel chill bridal time at all. They speak very highly of their food, but they didn't have anything off of their menu that really impressed me. I tried the fresh cod, scallops, apple dessert, and Wagyu steak. Brandon and Angel are a total headache to deal with. We requested to have the gym open early for the day of my cousins wedding. Angel said yes to having the gym opened at 4:45am in the morning before the wedding. I was there waiting -Didn't happen. This pushed back my whole schedule on the wedding day. We asked to pay for the Mother Goose house as a wedding gift to the bride and groom - also didn't happen. I had to discuss the issue with Brandon. No discount no offers of any kind- mind you 3 nights is about 10K. Not cool at all. The wedding planner also seemed to have no idea what was going on with decisions, when speeches were going to be and where to set up the podium for the efficient. The main staff you speak with don't really seem to care and frankly just aren't the type of service you look for in a luxury resort . I'm an extensive traveler and would strongly recommend not to revisit this place. We also got coffee at Sill and couldn't find any place to sit down to drink our coffee and have a pastry. We even asked the host where we could sit and it was outside on wet chairs or in the lobby. The dining room was totally empty and asked if we could sit there and was denied. Also there isn't enough parking for guests. The working driving around on golf carts talking on their cell phones also felt a little scary. The Wequassett staff made a bad atmosphere for the guests paying a lot of money. It felt very unfair between the gym not being open on time to the disorganization of the wedding timeline to getting the bills confused.

Her kindness and attentiveness to everyone's needs made the day even more special. The food was nothing short of phenomenal. Our guests are still raving about it, with many saying it was the best wedding meal they've ever had. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was timed perfectly, and the dishes were executed to perfection. Bravo to the Chef and the culinary team! I think they also had bacon but I passed and went full veggie. I had a tiny little balcony off my third story room. It didn't look fancy, but what a wonderful place to sit at night and enjoy a cool breeze. It was worth it for me. The shower was modernized and nicer than mine at home. The breakfast room is bright and pretty and a lovely way to start the day. If I returned I would choose a second story room as those were hardwood floors and the third floor was carpeting. I wrote a quick "check-in" expressing my disappointment. Shortly after "publishing" my comments, I headed to walk on the beach. I hadn't made it far and heard someone calling me. Except for my husband no one knew me so I ignored it at first. But she persisted. It was the manager and she had in the very short time since our arrival and my posting my comments, read my disappointed online post. She was extremely professional in her handling of it. And, fortunately for us all there was another room available due to a last minute cancellation. She moved us to it, a better room, for no additional charge. Fortunate because even at the end of September this place is fully booked. Fully booked months in advance, year round, because of its incredible situation overlooking Nausett Beach. What I had read in the reviews was that the ADA room had met all the requirements of a former wheelchair dependent guest. And, while my husband and I are not dependent on that type of facility, that guest was. The Inn only has one ADA room (Cottage #8) and it was apparently the only room available when we booked back in August. Her handling of our disappointment was superb and the availability of a substitution was, as I said, fortunate. I would suggest, however, in the future that if a guest is being given the ADA room, that they be told at the time of booking. Most other properties that I've dealt with have done this. The client then knows what to expect and can make a decision to accept the room or not. We are here for another night and look forward to enjoying this incredible location.

For these reasons, it is a pretty spectacular place to stay. When you arrive early you are able to park and use the beach until your room is ready, and stay on the day of your checkout. This is a very nice option that helps maximize your beach time. This seems to be an old property that is being modernized, so you have to set your expectations accordingly. The main bedroom was very nice with a wonderfully comfortable bed, but the bathroom needs some love, and looks a bit untouched since the 50's. While clean, some might not like that. We were also surprised that a blow dryer was not included, we asked and they said they did not supply them for fear of everybody using them at once and tripping their breakers. This can be a deal breaker for some, and I had to run to CVS to buy a blow dryer, a first! A simple continental breakfast is provided, but I recommend that you may want to supplement with some of your own cereal or oatmeal as the muffins go quickly. The checkin/checkout/reservation process was pleasant and touch free. If you are looking for an opportunity to feel like you are staying at the beach, and don't mind a little bit of a rustic setting, then you will absolutely enjoy your stay here
