So, can you open one of these delightful diners in Raleigh? Please?? My sisters and I took a road trip to the coast, and this was our breakfast stop before leaving. Sweet Fancy Moses, an old-school diner with pages of a menu to match. But this crew has it down to a sciences. Efficiency, yet care, gets the crowds in an out quickly. We all ordered a version of the #11 (4 Corner Special). I kid you not, it was at our table in less than 10 minutes! Fresh, cooked-well....oh so good. Our server Misty was a gem and we had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Tony, when we checked out. In short, please put this on your list to visit when in Atlantic Beach. It's locally owned & operated (not a chain or national franchise) They have a nice menu with a great selection of breakfast foods. We have been coming here for breakfast since 1998. My husband is a reenactor and comes to Ft Macon 3x per year and this is has become a great tradition. Tonight was MY first time for dinner. It is always a great feeling when you discover a gem of a restaurant with charm, great food and a feeling that your having a meal at your freinds house. Welcome to 4 corners. We were greeted at the door and told "honey you can just sit over there". Quickly we were brought menus and drinks while we decided what was for breakfast. Alley (our server) was awesome, happy and knew her stuff. The food....its hard to judge breakfast but when eggs are cooked perfect, hash and potatoes crispy , meats are quality and it is hot and affordable. How can you not love it. Had a perfectly pleasant Sunday breakfast here with a friend and her daughter. My veggie omelette was on the thin side and shaped in a lovely perfect rectangle, but it was quite tasty and the side of home fries were not in the least bit greasy. But they had generic "fancy ketchup" - nooo! Go Heinz or go home! My friend and her daughter had various other breakfast items like French toast, bacon, sausage, and loaded home fries. The French toast was pretty standard, not fluffy and thick, but they gave the food a thumbs up also. Most important, the coffee was good - no sludge in a pot, just good, hot diner coffee with plenty of cream on the side. My friend and her daughter are currently reporting a food coma. Typical greasy, delicious diner fare. You can have an egg, grits or hash browns, choice of meat and toast for $5. They've got a lot of variety- pancakes, steak, waffles, biscuits n' gravy. Yum. 3.5 Extra half point for the great service from our waitress. Me and my guy went for breakfast because.... it's a diner.... of course you go for breakfast. The place is nothing fancy, it has no real "decor". Just tables and chairs and a couple of dining areas that must have been expansions as their business grew. We were greeted by a very friendly woman who I guess is the owner/manager. She was friendly in a take charge kind of way and seated us promply in a quaint little corner of the diner. Our waitress was with us in a flash and took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. As others have stated, the coffee needs some work. They probably get their coffee from a coffee service that provides the drip coffee machine and premeasured coffee packets. They should really look into alternatives, because the coffee has no real depth to it. But hey, I'm a coffee snob. Breakfast was pretty basic, but good. Not gourmet fare, but again, this is not a fancy place. My guy had the vegetable omelette, hash browns, and a biscuit. He said it was pretty good. I had scrambled eggs and french toast with sausage links. I know that in diners it's good to tell the waitress exactly how you want your eggs, and my eggs came back exactly how I ordered them. Don't just tell them scrambled, tell them scrambled firm, or scrambled soft, etc. Their idea of a perfect scramble might be different from yours. Anyway, it was good. The french toast was just average but still good. They could up their game by having real maple syrup. The sausage was good, had nice carmelization on the outside and was not overly greasy. If you're looking for a place to have a "dining experience" or one of those fancy Mother's Day type breakfasts, this is not your place. If you just want a simple good breakfast at a good price, you'll be satisfied here. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but outside of the coffee, everything here was a-ok. read more

Atmosphere isn't the greatest. Walking into the entryway has a bathroom smell to it which I didn't enjoy but the service by our waiter was awesome. He was prompt on refills and food came out in a reasonable fashion. I ordered an over medium egg, sausage links & home-fries. The home fries tasted like they were straight from the freezer but they threw in some fried onions so that helped add some flavor to it. Sausage links were great, very filling and flavorful. The egg was also good although it wasn't "large" like the menu described. Overall good experience though if you're looking for something to do while visiting the beach. read more

Hostess was extremely rude! We waited for over 20min for our server, instead of helping us our server greeted and took a table that sat 3min after us and took their entire order. she then walked past us for the 5th time without getting our drink order. Meanwhile our children are entertaining themselves by stacking the butters and creamers. This hostess came by and aggressively knocked over my daughters tower that she was very proud of and told them no no no don't mess with these that's not nice. so Of course my child gets very upset bc she doesn't understand why this woman just came to our table yelled at her for touching things that are on the table and being a bully and knocking her tower over. She never returned with crayons and paper to replace what they were doing Like she said she was going to do. We never got a server and finally left. When I spoke with a manager he dismissed me and cut me off twice when I was trying to explain how terrible the hostess was to our children. Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I've never had a stranger come up to My child and basically bully them. Don't know how she still has a job there. read more

Overweight people beware! My friend asked that we be seated in a booth if possible and the older woman seating people bodyshamed me out of sitting in a booth that I would have been more than fine to sit in. She claimed she was trying to make me comfortable, when in actuality she made me very uncomfortable. My friend and I, feeling embarassed promptly left and went elsewhere for lunch. The diner had just recently begun to serve dinner. We had varied choices; all were pleased. Two of us had superb crab cakes (Yesss!), one shrimp and grits....can't remember. Service was outstanding (spill smilingly cleaned up, orders including substitutions remembered..). We had no problem getting in but we came in at 7 - not long before their early closing time (8:30).
